I have been watching your tutorials ever since you started them. I have seen them all. I use a lot of the patterns you have in the tutorials. I love, love triple play. It’s interesting how you all come with something different. I’m 75 and I quilt almost every day. I’m glad you had a restful vacation. I Love you and all your tutorials. God bless you. The house block happens to be my favorite block. One of my favorite story concerning your house blocks. I made the table topper that consisted of houses. On one side, I placed a label, later my husband asked about the small square that you could see on the road that separated the houses. He said, what is that? Pointing to the outline of the label. My response..."Road work!!"

I love your comments about finding unfinished blocks and what to do with them. When my Mom passed away I was the only one of us kids that sews. I found at least seven quilts she had started. I finished them and, if I knew who she was .aking them for, I gave them to them.

Glad you enjoyed your vacation in the Sunshine State! 😎 Excellent advice about unfinished projects! I know many people save every scrap of fabric they have left over from projects but sometimes I tire of seeing some fabrics and give them to someone who will enjoy them. I agree our craft should bring us joy and be freeing! Happy quilting, friends! 🌷

I have a bin of orphan and alien quilt blocks from quilts I’ve made for my daughters, grandchildren, friends, babies and charity quilts. They are as different in fabrics as they are in sizes. From 6” blocks up to 25” blocks. The fabrics are Civil War, Corey Yoder, Sandy Gervais, Lori Holt, Robin Pickens, Lella Boutique, Lisa Bongean, My Mind’s Eye, batiks, Halloween, Christmas and Patriotic etc. You name it and I have a block. I plan on sewing them all together into a picnic quilt to keep in my car. I will use one fabric for sashing to help tone down the scrappiness. I think it will be a fun and quirky quilt.

Since retiring I consider every day a vacation, so besides sewing and quilting I only take day trips or week trips to visit my daughter.
I really enjoy all the projects and I have MANY completed quilt tops to finish up…Sigh..

Glad you had a wonderful birthday! And I love Florida beaches! I lived in St. Pete 2 winters when I was young. I miss walking in the ocean and feeling the tow of the waves. That is how I kept my legs firm. lol! Memories!

"Practice makes progress" is very true. I'm working on the summer strolls project and month six is the only one that is actually coming out nice for me! All the other months had me struggling but this one is looking up and the size is actually turning up correct!😅 So don't get discouraged if you're new like me and remember that "practice makes progress" ❤

i AM SO THRILLED TO HEAR ABOUT MORE INGRID BLOCKS AND CHRISTMAS BLOCKS WILL BE FANTASTIC! I've had so much fun with the Ingrid Blocks now and I am making the Ingrid Wildflower quilt for my daughter, she is so excited to get it. Love all your tutuorials and this Tuesday Newsday is so fun to watch! I saw you once at a quilt/sewing place in Sacramento and totally enjoyed your teaching and truck show with your sweet husband, Ron. Wish you would come back to California to do more classes. Not sure when I will ever get the chance to go to Hamilton. My husband and I drove thru Hamilton before MSQC was around and saw the old JC Penney building and thought the town was so cute and quaint. We were on a LDS Driving Tour, which we put together, of the trek the old Pioneers and Saints walked from Nauvoo to Winter Quarters and then we drove around some more and ended our trip Illinois to Missouri. It was wonderful!

My blocks that I get tired of go in a "time out box" then months later I'll go back and finish the quilt top load it quilt it then back into time out until I do the binding. By the way I hate binding. 🤣🤣🤣

It’s funny when Jenny said }completely relaxed” when in Florida, because the last time I felt that way was when I spent 4 days in Hamilton last November! When not shopping, I relaxed at blue cottage down the street!

I'm happy to hear your birthday vacation was so rejuvenating. My birthday is also in June, and hubby's is in July, and we always take our vacations during those months. We've several of those birthday vacations at your shops. Hubby's gift to me. We live in Florida, so we get to go visit different sights along the way.
I loved the question on picking up a project after it sits for over a year. This month picked up a project that was all cut out SEVEN years ago and I lost the pattern/design notes in a cross-country move. Yikes!🤦🏻♀️ I rescued the main blocks and made one of the best quilts I ever made. My husband loved it, so it’s going to him after I get it bound this weekend. The other leftover pieces (I tend to overbuy/cut when designing my own) - I’m working them into two more quilts, to be gifted out as a his/her pair for a wedding gift. I can tell you this: What I’ve created so far is WAY BETTER than I think I remember my original design being. Sometimes it’s all about fresh beginnings and new perspectives.
