I still get teary-eyed when I see this. This is one of the best Miss Universe pageants in history! And the excited and Miss U fever were felt all over the Philippines!
hindi na tayo great that time. Mataas na ang crime rate at tadtad ng brownout nuong mga panahon na ito. In fact, nuong pinagplanuhan nuong 1993 na dito gaganapin ang 1994 MU andaming tumaas ang kilay kase ongoing ang power crisis that time tadtad ng rotating brownouts nuong mga panahon na ito.
"Mabuhay" is another version of "VIVA LA NOCHE" theme song for Miss Universe 1993 in Mexico, but this version is about "Welcome to our Country" is a much more nicer Version. Even thou the stage is small. You can see all the delegates faces. and the pageant is very intimate. even it was 8.00 am in the morning. I was 15 years old when this happen and i tape it with our VCR i cannot believe everytime i watch this i still love it!

I hope the next time the Philippines host Miss Universe during the FOX era, they hold it inside Philippine Arena, Bulacan and they add some local artists like Gloc-9 and Quest to go along with their international artists. 2016 was good, but I like 1994 because they showcased the culture of the Philippines and had local talents performing and not much of the fans reactions.

its the pageant format po.. if you notice yung MU opening from 1986-1994 iisa lang ang format ng opening.. hindi yan mismo na Pinas ang nakaisip ng ganyang presentation... magkakapareho sila ng intro nung mga nakaraang editions.. try to watch ung intro ng MU1993, MU1992, MU1991 etc etc magkakahawig lang

"Mabuhay" is another version of "VIVA LA NOCHE" theme song for Miss Universe 1993 in Mexico, but this version is about "Welcome to our Country" is a much more nicer Version.
Even thou the stage is small. You can see all the delegates faces. and the pageant is very intimate. even it was 8.00 am in the morning.
I was 15 years old when this happen and i tape it with our VCR i cannot believe everytime i watch this i still love it!

I hope the next time the Philippines host Miss Universe during the FOX era, they hold it inside Philippine Arena, Bulacan and they add some local artists like Gloc-9 and Quest to go along with their international artists.
2016 was good, but I like 1994 because they showcased the culture of the Philippines and had local talents performing and not much of the fans reactions.

I remember this being so bongga at that time. The Philippines gave its best talaga. I was so proud. I was only 11 years old though. And did you guys saw Michelle Van Eimeren? Ang cute nya.
while sabi nila ang word na Mabuhay i felt so proud and im tearing up this is the time that Philippines is one of the strongest country in Asia and we can see it thru the effort of the organizer of this event.
its the pageant format po.. if you notice yung MU opening from 1986-1994 iisa lang ang format ng opening.. hindi yan mismo na Pinas ang nakaisip ng ganyang presentation... magkakapareho sila ng intro nung mga nakaraang editions.. try to watch ung intro ng MU1993, MU1992, MU1991 etc etc magkakahawig lang
I seriously love everything about this opening. The beauties, the costumes, the song, the happy vibe... It was obviously just a joyful event for everyone :)
