after watching your videos, currently you are the only nw channel i took serious. not only because of your game knowledge. thats the main part ofc. but also how straightforward you are. clean explanations etc. and also as u said, showing actual footages is important. so, thank you for putting effort and sharing these videos man. it helps a lot.
Amazing video brother, I was recommended to your channel by a friend and I'm glad I was, you definitely made me with alot of time, money and stress, thank you for taking the time to make and share this video with us, you definitely gained a life time subscriber
Hey man found your content today and have to say it's really nice to see someone just go through the builds and stuff without trying to hype it up. You show the proof of concept, how to make it happen, and give sound advice. Good stuff, I subbed.
thank you brother, truly appreciate that 🤝 I try to avoid the clickbait nonsense n just focus on being helpful or entertaining gameplay so it's nice when people confirm it's not for nothin
ye it kinda really tilts me when people make "OMG BIS BLAH BLAH MUST TRY" and then never post any gameplay.. like I know why they don't but still. but thank you brother appreciate that
Played og launch. Came back when aternum dropped and been enjoying it. I'm definitely gonna try to mimick your build. Gotta get my crafting up though and figure out how to add all the perks to the gear. I really like your play style and the way you do your commentary. Would love to see maybe an in depth pvp guide or in depth vid on how you acquired your gear or how to bake all the desired perks into the gear. As I said I wanna mimick this build as close as possible. Cheers mate!
Hey man, just wanna leave a thanks, well done mate. Clean, calm in depth explanation as to what, how, why and so on. Perfect for someone who just came back from a 2 year break and is a little overwhelmed with all the details and technicalities to catch up with. Great hint on that Hatchet Crit perk, i was wondering why i wasn't able to float like a butterfly and sting like a be as i remembered, but not even on the 3rd hit again? oof At least the good old "Can't pan the camera around though im pushing the button - Feature" hasn't changed one bit since release :D
thank you brother 🤝 appreciate that. and yeah that one was kinda heartbreaking, I always ran it and never realized how long the cooldown actually was until finch said something about it. but I'd switch to freeform movement, basically don't need the free look key anymore
I’ve been having trouble picking a weapon combo but you helped me finally choose. I’ve always enjoyed spear and I’ve paired it with bow in the past but Hatchet is looking hella fun. And I can’t wait to get Scorpion. Just hit 58 tonight got the game Friday and your channel has been the most informative while all the others have seemed like 🤖
lol thank you my man. hatchet is definitely fun, I ran it a lot even when it wasn't very good just because of that. glad you're enjoying the game tho brother 🤝 until you get sting id just run a regular spear honestly, my skill tree for normal spear is pretty similar just has perforate instead of javelin
I found this out to over the weekend and it low key sucks I think it’s so unfair to q up with legacy servers as fresh start..ppl are so juiced you either die extremely fast or do no damage what so ever to some people kinda ruined OPR for me atleast for another month till people can get on the same playing level
Played this game a lot about a year ago and fell in love with play dex build bow/rapier but now that I’m returning on a fresh server I started doing musket/dex again but maybe I should switch it up to have that fun again I had when I first started. Your videos are inspiring me. Cheers!
@@PJsurelythinking of trying hatchet with SnS a lot of build I see out there have 300/350 dex and less str you know why that may be? Have you tried SnS at all this season?
I would not follow any of those builds brother.. they're sacrificing a ton of damage just to get the 300dex node so they have another cc break. if you wanna see a pvp demon sns/hatchet check out rawberry. his build is mostly updated
@PJsurely first off - amazing content! Rawberrys guide videos seems to be a little outdated according to the comments - would you just build it as yours but with light?
thank you 🤝 and sorry I should've specified his build guide on his discord is mostly up to date. if i were playing light sns/hatchet it'd be quite a bit different because he plays more glass cannon assassin and I like to be able to stand and trade. I'd prio enchanted ward, invigorated, and slash conditioning with featherweight and always blooddrinker for me
thank you brother 🤝 the best places to start without a ton of gold or materials are getting named pieces with some perks you want and adding the 3rd perk of your choice and just spam buying the chests at the well from pvp island
Some queations i came away with: When to use which weapon combo? Hate reaction to something? Also reading the abilities gives me an idea of when to use them but starting out a rough rotation might help. Hard to keep all these X causes empower, X causes rend, etc in my head right away. Last i guess is how to approach 1vX vs 1v1.
"hate gemming" is just what some people call it when you heavily stack gems against one damage type. towards the end of the video when I went over the skill trees I tried to cover what my "default combo" is for each weapon but obviously every fight is different. I'll try to discuss some of those other things in my next video, decent ideas there how to approach 1vX and how to fight against certain weapons
Well put together a starter version of this build, brought it into arena and won round 1 with a solid 1v2. Build is crazy fun and now I can actually get blood drinker this week!
Good Job my man ! very usefull guide , i used to play spear/hatched with blood drinker but in season 6 the spear tracking is completely broken so i'll go for GS aswell. it takes too much time to get 725 gear with only 1 coconut per week omg...
thank you brother, and yeah I heard a few people say the spear felt kinda bad compared to what they're used to. I basically treat scorpion's sting like a ranged weapon for 1 combo so I didn't really notice haha but I've come to terms with the fact that I'll just be mostly 700gs, it is what it is
Great video, just got into this game on PS5. Been loving hatchet/gs play style. I’ve been pvping as soon as it was available to me, what do you recommend vs Ranged or SNS users combo wise/tactics?
ayy welcome brother glad you're enjoying it 🤝 ranged basically hard counters hatchet/gs in open world unless you attack first. best thing you can do is block as with gs until you close the gap and save berserk and relentless in case you get rooted. landing relentless and social distance for the slow are pretty massive try to spread them out to keep a constant slow on runners. sns/spear basically has unlimited cc, either run stoneform or do most attacks with gs to break their stam and save berserk in case you get shield bashed
I've considered it a few times because it is very good, especially with the perk, but I'm just very used to having social distance available. plagued crits on your hatchet can be very helpful tho, then you don't need a runeglass can just run a regular moonstone because hatchet crits a lot so they always have some kind of debuff
I love the way you did the video. It’s a very refreshing way to watch a build video that’s enjoyable. Do you think the hatchet and flail could be viable? I’ve played around with it a lot and the healing seems pretty good but don’t think the damage can compete.
thank you for that 🤝 it appears not everyone agrees lol and ye hatchet/flail is fine if you treat it like a dps build. flail doesn't have much healing to begin with I'd just go something like 380str 25dex 200con if those are the weapons you enjoy
Question; when you run into good bow/rapier players, what do you typically do to remedy their peeling and evasiveness? Also, the new pvp perk that destroys empower, do you consider it worth avoiding empower builds/ perks now?
luckily a lot of the best bow players left haha bows used to be worse than muskets are now. but the best thing you can do is spread out your relentless rush and social distance to try to keep a constant slow on them. block with gs when you have to. berserk to close the gap but save your torrent, light attack and force them to spend stamina, torrent when they're out of stam or only have enough left for one dodge. melee attacks decrease dodge roll distance and so do slows. torrent has good enough tracking now that even if they dodge once after you start torrent they'll be close enough that you can normally still connect the rest of it. I'm not overly worried about the new pen crits perk, at least not enough to give up my empowers. if it becomes an issue, I'll start running one piece of thorny reflection to nuke their crit chance. Just adapt as the meta shifts
@@PJsurely Cool thank you for the reply, could you give us an update soon on how its going with the new pvp perk on whether its a problem or beneficial or not noticable? . Thanks bud
Im not new to newworld but ive never fully understood how to get the best gear or what i should be doing end game, i want to take the pvp serious and feel like id be good if i knew what i was doing. I would love for someone as good as yourself to guide me haha. Trying to copy your build will be a good start to hopefully be as half as good as you are!
haha appreciate the kind words brother. I definitely don't want to become a guide only channel but I would like to start including more tips at the end of videos or something to help with the questions people seem to have most often and just info I think might be helpful. gearing seems to be a very common question
@@PJsurely I think you explain everything perfectly, i understand this is solely about your build etc. I think i need help more on knowing how to get that gear in the first place! If you could point me in the direction for that then id be super happy!
Your all good brother , i've been working a lot too , barely any time to stream 😅 cooking up a nasty build though which you might get a kick out off 🤣appreciate you man much love ❤️
Amazing content as usual. Ur build guide and gamplay are really solid. I watched a build that u posted last month i think, u was using natures wrath. Why did you change? The 20% bonus damage is not a good option to relief the effects of bloodrinkers?
thank you for the kind words 🤝 nature's wrath got nerfed pretty hard this patch, can actually make up the damage difference with just a few empowers that you wouldn't have access to if you tried to use it now. been meaning to change that title or thumbnail so people know it's partly outdated with the changes to nature's wrath
@@PJsurely u welcome. ur content is really good, i think the majoroty of others content creatores that make builds dont have 20% of ur skills. If you allow me to ask, you never thinked about streams? pretty sure i would watch.
haha appreciate you brother. I used to stream a long time ago but I just didn't enjoy it. even with only a few people watching at the time it made me feel really anxious
Yo! Love watching your videos man. Have a quick question, might be a weird setup but do you think running basically the same build but swap out serenity for Mjolnir WH could work? Use WH for rend and cc.
thank you 🤝 just my opinion, but i think the tradeoffs to run mjolnir make it kinda bad unless we somehow end up in an extremely strike heavy meta and people actually gem against it. empower is very easy to come by (especially for hammer) but base damage not as much. mjolnir sacrifices the 100str node and your gem slot, basically giving up 25-30% base damage to get an empower you don't need and converting from strike (nobody gems against heavily) to lightning which people are indirectly gemming against with opals because of the current ranged dominance. if I ran hatchet/hammer it'd just be a regular hammer. maybe go sin for stupidly long AB rends
@ ah yea, those are some great points. Glad I asked, lol. I guess just trying to make two of my favorite weapons work using a playstyle like this. Might try a regular hammer then like you said.
regular hammer still really good, I just don't run it because it's bad at chase and we're in a "run only" meta from the range rats right now lul think ohkaybet did a hammer/hatchet build pretty recently, I'd steal his hammer build
tumblers are still very very good for medium builds, I'm just starting to like the consistent affects you get with djinn and darkplate a bit more this season. it's a little harder to keep tumblers proc'd consistently with the changes they made to dodging
I'm still new and learning. I'm trying to figure out what consumables to use including long term buffs and the stuff on the bar. What should I have going before a match? An attribute food I'm sure of and a honing stone but unclear what else. Also on your bar is a mana pot for your toast, and healing, then I think a health regen but I'm not sure what the hamburgers are...looks like button 2. Thanks for any replies
welcome brother 👋 hope you're enjoying so far. if gold is not an issue then before a match you want attribute food (roasted rabbit w/ vegetables normally cheapest +48 food), a honing stone (cheaper ones are fine it's 2% empower you won't even notice), and a desert sunrise if you have them. during the match everybody runs health potion, you can either run regen or serum depending on your budget, and the other 2 depend on the player. I carry mana potions for an extra way to proc my fortifying toast. some people run fire absorption potions since they are a flat 15% reduction to fire damage but that gets expensive. running 'lasting consumption' on your bags makes them last 45s I believe is still the cap. and the last one is an opr specific item, the first thing I do when a match starts is go get either zephyr cakes for 15% permanent haste or battle bread for permanent 5% empower and 5% absorption to all damage types. Just depends what build im running at the time. hope that helps my man
I only pvp so for me pen backstab is must have. keen berserk is good but I've switch to putting that on gear and taking torrent on weapon. last perk is tough but I think i want plagued crits and then I can run a regular moonstone too bc plague debuff
First off, so happy I found your channel. I cannot find anyone else posting this in depth pvp guide content so thank you. Also, I just started playing on the new wipes this week, are you playing on those? Because you are quite geared already haha
thank you brother 🤝 tried going more in depth with this one for any new guys learning the mechanics n whatnot. but definitely not fresh start haha this is my legacy character, I really didn't want to level for a 4th time and do all the trade skills all over again lul
Hi friend. I like your video and your build. Do you mind if I ask for some advice? What is the best way to go about getting a good set of 700 armour in your opinion? I have not played in ages, just hit level 65 and I'm a bit at a loss on how to gear up. Thank you for the video either way.
thank you brother. I think the easiest way to get a good starter 700gs set of gear is to focus on named pieces, you can craft a lot of near bis items at the gypsum kiln just using materia from the season pass or running a few dungeons. nwdb.info is a great place to start by just filtering upgradeable items and look for the perks you want to see where certain pieces drop
Elite chest runs are good (Cutlass keys one where you can get up to 725 especially). Mutated expeditions, the higher you can do the better. Gypsum kiln if your server has a supply of matrixes to upgrade named items. 700 isn’t completely necessary for pvp. Perks make a huge difference 😊
Hey, love the video! You mention that you would upgrade your hatchet as soon as possible. Would you only upgrade to another 725 hatchet? Is that number more important that perfect perks? Im wondering if you would rather a hatchet at 700 but it has Pen backstab - Viscous - Keen for example.. Also what would be the ideal 3 perks you would chase? Thanks in advance!!
thank you brother 🤝 and after trying my normal hatchet vs the 725 for a while I'd say it's not much difference. my normal hatchet is 700gs pen backstab, vicious, keen berserk. having keen berserk on either weapon or armor is pretty important but I was trying to get torrent, pen backstab, plagued crits. there are a ton of ways you could go it just depends how you want to play. I wouldn't recommend regular keen tho, keen berserk would just be infinitely more valuable in that spot or a perk that's 'proc' like plagued crits or purifying crits to counter other hatchets
Nice vid bro! Do u think the void darkplate is better for this build than the tumbler feetwraps? cus i have them in the fresh😅 Right now I'm playing with spear but I also leveled up the greatsword to have options. Do you think it's stronger the hatchet with the GS or with the spear for a soloplayer? I want to hold it alone in the PVP zone, which of the two would you recommend more? I also play with medium armor, finding your channel was a blessing because you play exactly the same as me hahaha. Thanks for the tips
tumblers are still very good, especially for medium builds i played them for a long time. but i found having the 100% uptime of darkplate is just very nice and shirking empower amulet combined with built in empowers in the weapons keeps me over the cap pretty consistently so this build has just felt better overall. I play a lot of both, but i definitely like having the greatsword available on the island specifically for tanks because it's the best stam breaking weapon in the game, and for paladin players that try to just stand in their sacred ground. but I'm glad you're enjoying so far brother haha
Amazing guide thank you so much! I have one question as a new player : What makes GS work with Hatchet better than GA for example? If your main damage comes with hatchet why not take GA with the charge and the pull for even more gap closer and slows?
thank you brother 🤝 I actually get a fair amount of my kills with GS, and I play GA sometimes just not very often because it feels kinda slow with long cooldowns. it's good for a chasedown tool for light dex which is why I was considering running it on the island specifically but I think I've come up with a better solution lul
Finally someone with knowledge I can trust. I fully agree with your point on channels/videos without gameplay. Can I use this guide for my sns/flail strength solo build? Would I need to make many changes or is this a good start until I tweak it to my personal preference with sns/flail? Thank you so much
appreciate that brother 🤝 for sns/flail this would be alright if you wanted to play medium armor can swap heavy pants for medium and put on a round shield gets you to 22.8 I believe. most sns/flail play heavy and just go void darkplate chest and all frigid dawn pieces for rest of the armor, I just don't enjoy heavy much personally
@@PJsurely Thanks for a quick and good reply! I am currently enjoying LIGHT flail solo pvp, but maybe I should aim for 22.8 medium and try it out. Will also go for the leeching, I love that stat!
ahh ok that's much different then, I only use featherweight when I play light i don't like being squishy haha www.5con.club/armour-calculator/ check out that site good stuff for figuring out armor combinations, rawberry2 on twitch is an animal light sns double melee player, his build is very good might be more what you're looking for
haha thank you, hope you enjoy it. and no worries, you just have to have one in your inventory and a goldcursed coconut for the recipe to show up at the well in CK, it costs some more doubloons and the craft mod too. I think you have to not have it locked, like protected from salvage for it to show as well
thank you brother. and they've made leveling a good but simpler over the years, main story will get you most of the way there now and just mix in some of your trades along the way because it's kinda painful if you save it all for the end and gotta spend half a day smacking trees or hunting for ore lul there are a lotta systems/interactions to learn all at once, just take it bit by bit over time
@@PJsurely Sorry for not being clear enough :D I meant on a fresh server you may not have all the gear required for your build. Any advice on good enough replacement gear etc? Should I aim for gear that has the perks that you're running and so on. Thanks for the quick reply and will continue watching you as I learn a lot!
ahh ye that makes more sense haha no worries. if i was gearing a fresh char again right now I'd be farming named pieces for a starter set, then trying to get gear from pvp activities since that's the only way to get gear with shirking heals without adding it to a named piece and leveling my crafting so I could eventually get exactly what I want to run later down the road
New player here who does everything solo. Thanks for this amazing guide, it is exactly the kind of build I was looking for :) Is all the gear self crafted or crafted in generell?
quite a few perks I use are pvp only so they don't help in dungeons but I just use my pvp gear for pve stuff, not a big deal. I will swap social distance throw for rending throw or put on a spear with perforate just to kill things faster tho
the only 725 I have right now is a temporary hatchet from the island. it's alright. still can't upgrade artifacts sadly because ags hasn't fixed the bug yet. I'm still going to use mostly 700gs armor anyway for quite a while
I want to try out the same build. I am curious if you’ve found better success with void darkplate over tumbler feetwraps. Past videos you have used both. Is the armor and fortify that much better than tumblers in your opinion?
when they changed dodge no longer getting top priority in action-queueing it got a lot harder to have to foritfy consistently up from tumblers. going darkplate just gives 100% uptime and the cooldown on amulet perk shirking empower is much more forgiving than tumblers. basically same result but much easier to get value out of
appreciate that 🤝 and of course you can, wear your best gear haha it's just not worth it to me to farm 725 stuff, couple weapons and artifacts close enough for what I need
Hey PJ, loved the video. Do you think your build gear wise would work with SS/Spear (scorp sting) I like the idea of blood drinker but not sure if I go to all the effort to get the gear and roll it all will it not pan out without the GS in play. Cheers
definitely, sns/spear is a very beginner friendly forgiving build, you can make some mistakes and still end up winning the fight just with the sheer amount of cc it has. but I play every weapon with blooddrinker except the ones I never play musket, bow, lifestaff. the only ones I'd say the damage loss is hard to overcome for some reason are flail, rapier, and void blade builds
@@PJsurely man how did you get the gear with the perks you want. I’ve been grinding and not one piece has dropped with those three perks. I’ve got the artifacts but the gear is avoiding me
azoth inductor crafts for most of it. it's expensive and you can only buy one inductor per week but it let's you pick the 3 perks you want at 700 gearscore
Good day, A question: Thank you first for this excellent guide, they are my two favorite weapons but they don't work very well together... My question is: Why don't you use Aggressive Shift? I understand that it guarantees entering Path on Slaught immediately, the next hit will be a critical hit secured by Keen Posture and grants 25% stamina and base health guaranteed by Critical Comeback Would it increase with Blooddrinker... Or am I wrong?
thank you 🤝 I think they work very well together it just depends on your playstyle. I don't use aggressive shift because sometimes I want to heavy attack in defiant stance, guardpoint is very strong and if you take that passive you only get 1 heavy attack before it puts you back in onslaught. a very important part of playing greatsword is knowing when to be in which stance. I don't take the "next hit guaranteed crit" because typically it's wasted on the second hit of rush or skyward which means it crit but does no extra damage. other passives provide a lot more value. the 'energized' proc you can get is boosted by divine but not by blooddrinker because it's a self heal not lifesteal. hope that makes sense my man
Hey ! thanks for you video I was hesitating between that and light armor, why do you use medium is better ? :D Beside, i really don't want to play with two skills with GS, what should I do ?
I just prefer medium, can take a lot more hits and you don't need the light dodge roll when you have a ton of haste. I used 3 abilities with an opal gem on serenity for a while, just ends up being more damage the way I ran it in this video
great video - thank you very much. i gotta say though- you have a TON of attribute points. i'm sitting at str300 dex50 con200.. im 688 GS, do the extra 12 GS points make up over 50 attribute points???
sounds like you're missing attribute food brother, roasted rabbit with vegetables is +48 con. and try to get bags with the "lasting consumption" perk pretty sure it's called, that way you don't have to pop them nearly as often. if you're strapped for gold the banana foods are usually a good bit cheaper and still give +44 attributes
thanks brother 🤝 and theres no reason you can't run tumblers, I ran them for a long time in medium. they're just harder to keep proc'd consistently now with the dodge changes. switching to darkplate and a shirking empower amulet basically accomplishes the same thing but it's way more consistent
Currently not able to craft the same gear. Going for named gear instead and trying to match as closely as possible. Based on what’s possible, I will not be able to have invigorated on armor. I know you said you don’t like health but do you think that would be a good substitution?
perks really aren't that important brother. they're just helpful. I made a fresh char a few days ago that just has 5 shirking heals and every other perk is nonsense, no defensive perks. still bodyslamming people lul I wouldn't stress about it too much
What do you think of the hoplite hatchet from the new raid? I’ve got it and have been debating adding emp rending throw or keen berserk to it so I can use it pve&pvp. That said I’m open to suggestion on how to build it.
I'm sure it's good for something, those just aren't perks I'd look to run for the way i play. if you run berserk, keen berserk imo is damn near must have on either weapon or armor. but if you do a lot of throwing then yeah getting rending throw on weapon and KB on armor probably the move
It’ll be interesting to see how disdained infliction does in PvP. I suspect it won’t be as useful as the established bis perks but could be interesting in some builds.
hey man, for this build, what do you think of using ironheart artifact with 4 pieces of health, 5 piece shirk heals, 4 piece shirk fort on top of fortifying toast. it'll be 21k hp with 40% fortify and I sacrifice relentless freedom for shirkfort but i use stoneform as a replacement? So basically you get 2700 armour but with 21k hp and your shirk heals give you more hp since you have a higher max hp pool. you get the same armour you have now but with 5k more hp
I like the theory craft and I'm sure it'd be good that's just not how I like to build personally. I'd always rather have a defensive perk than health. like your build would be hard for one person to take down but my thought process is now you have to heal back any hp you lost during the fight to be back at max tankiness where a defensive perk is just always max value, I'd rather never take the damage to begin with. shirking fort is more well-rounded defensive perk than enchanted ward, it's very good I ran it for a long time but with the changes to dodging with the aeternum patch I was finding it harder to keep maximum uptime personally so enchanted ward is just more consistent. nothing wrong with what you came up with it's just not my preference
@@PJsurelyLove the fast reply man. Yeah I just wanted your opinion since I haven't played in a few years. So your opinion is of great advice man. Thank you so much.
most of the stuff in the build i was running for this vid are crafted. the best way to get a good starter set is search nwdb for named pieces with locked perks you like and then you get to choose the 3rd perk when you upgrade it at the gypsum kiln. graverobber's hat and scaled gauntlets are some I usually use as an example
I play a different build basically every time I log on brother haha but no, you don't need to change anything there haven't been any balance patches since this. Just preference, shirking heals, slash con, invigorated, dawn pieces, they're all good it's just what you wanna build
Hey man, wouldn't Ankh be good with all the shirking heals for self sustain? Thank you for the awesome build btw you changed and ranged player into a GS main :)
if you're playing a light build and just looking for 1v1's ankh is fine, but it only takes your shirking from a 2k heal to like a 2.5k heal every 7 seconds. I'd personally run endless thirst over ankh, but neither compare to blooddrinker for 1vX. I heal for more on every single hatchet swing than the difference ankh makes but with no cooldown and it's the only lifesteal in the game that works with aoe or cleaving thru multiple targets
Hey brother, just a quick question for the perks and what not did you just get lucky drops? I cant find anything in the trader and I’d really like to try this build out.hit 65 a few days back and im working on leveling my trades just hit 218 in armor smithing and im still clueless as to what to do.
almost all my armor n whatnot for this build I crafted using azoth inductors, it's pretty expensive and takes a while since inductors have a week long cooldown but it guarantees 700 gearscore and let's you choose all 3 perks
Hey I'm really curious about how upgrading the Hatchet will work with the well. I got my hatchet and it rolled Keen Berserk at 20% so I think its a good random perk. Will upgrading it to "add a perk" just replace keen berserk? I'm curious since yours has pen backstab which you say is mandatory, but then would upgrading my hatchet mean I'd have to give up keen berserk to get the pen backstab?
keen berserk is very good to have on weapon still, I've just been running it on armor lately. pen backstab is mandatory for me haha you can definitely play without it, I'd say try it how it is and just pay attention to if you actually get a lot of backstabs or are you mostly hitting people in the face, pen backstab may not even be good for your playstyle if you rarely get backstabs. but yes, upgrading it will get rid of the third perk, the 2 locked perks are keen and the penetrating crits perk
@@PJsurely Appreciate you, thanks. I also had it on gear but I guess that frees that slot up for another perk now since it'll be on my weapon. Love the guide and looking forward to keep playing the build :)
nah there's no way I'd run vorpal on a hatchet brother haha but I don't do the wurm or raid, whatever I can get from pvp or craft is just gonna have to be good enough
it's a very good combo, the aesthetic is just weird to me of a big sword n a lil sword so I don't run it haha mightymaster ran that in heavy for a long time n just mauled people with it
Question: When you made active Beserk it doesnt going to cooldown suddenly. Once the Beserk mode is deactived then cooldown is starting. So in light of that, before the fighting usually we want to Beserk in our hands and imo we cannot use this cooldown gems during the beserk (notsure). so im confused could u explain it bro ? Thanks a alot for the video btw.
depends on your build and how you play. probably not gonna help a 50con full ranged player, conditioning is strong i just don't usually have the perk spots to run it. invigorated is just very good for me specifically because of the way I play and build, sometimes I'm fighting 4 people at the same time and they're hitting me with every debuff in the game, the faster I can get that crap off me and get back to being tanky with all my healing working properly the better
What hatchet do you really want to use with this build? You said you're just using shipwrecker until you can get something better. What's the goal? I'm considering hatchet/gs and hatchet/spear. Would you use artifact hatchet with either of those builds?
neither of the artifact hatchets are good for my playstyle. freya's is throwing tree hatchet and sin is for cheese builds to extend debuffs on other weapon basically. neither does as much damage as my normal hatchet. I always take pen backstab, won't play hatchet without it. if keen berserk isn't on your hatchet you definitely at least want it on your armor. I'm trying to get a pen b, torrent, plagued crits rn ideally
Are there any named items for armor I might have overlooked for this? Can't find any good starting gear that's not off the pvp track or opr crates. It's slow going. Got 4 i invigorated 1 shirking heals 3 enchanted ward. Just picked up a hatchet with 690 pen backstab, vicious, and refreshing torrent. Now I gotta find keen on some armor cuz my current hatchet has it on the hatchet. Also... any idea what items I should look out for to roll with this in a pve setup? I know some of these perks are dead perks in pve.😊
what i would do if I were in your shoes, get a graverobber's hat + invig, darkplate + slash con, scaled gauntlets + invig, azoth crystal pants + keen berserk, and then you ideally find some cheap shoes with enchanted ward, invig, slash. 3 invig still good, slash easier to come by for named pieces and just replace that for shirking heals so you can focus gems on ranged classes. then your whole setup works for pve as well and just keep a spear around for mutations with your hatchet. spear perforate very good for pve
For the Ship Wrecker Hatchet, is upgrade disabled on non artifacts too? I took mine to the kiln but dont see the option. Also, can that perk drop in pvp track hatchets or is it tonic crafted/upgrade only?
weapons that you buy at the well you upgrade right at the well not the normal kiln. 'berserker's axe' is a pretty common one you'll see on the pvp track with pen backstab, very good hatchet. and the craft mod also drops on pvp track to upgrade other named weapons with it like ship wrecker
@PJsurely just got the berserker axe as legendary 675. You think penetrating backstab, vicious, keen berserk better than ship wrecker upgraded to 725 with pen backstab? I could upgrade it to 700 and replace keen berserk with plagued crits or refreshing torrent but it won't let me go to 725 even with coconut for it.
yeah thats my normal hatchet, still very good. I basically just wanted to try the new perk so I got ship wrecker. it's alright I honestly can tell much difference between my normal have vs ship wrecker with KB on armor. and yeah only the stuff you can 'upgrade' to 725 are artifacts and the couple named weapons listed at the well pretty much
How do you think this stacks up against sword and shield + hatchet? Im on fresh start. I've been running scorpion spear with hatchet because I don't have Serenity. I upgraded Blood Drinker. Now deciding between upgrading Void Darkplate or Tumblers Footwraps (If I was gonna run light sas hatchet)
i personally just don't like running sns in anything other than heavy because it messes with your max weight/armor a bit with the shield. sns/hatchet is stupidly good right now tho, been telling most people to just check rawberry's build if that's the combo they'd rather run. it's not how I'd run it but it clearly works for him haha
Ok so I hope u respond to me but my question is, all that life stealing ur doing per hit with that hatchet is it blood drinker? Is it just blood drinker or other pieces? Ur getting back 600+ a hit which is insane and I keep dying by that in game. And is there a way to increase that leeching per hit? I dont have blood drinker currently so what would be an alternative?
it's almost all blooddrinker yeah, berserk gives you an extra 5% lifesteal while it's up but 32% from blooddrinker. so basically take that 37% and increase it by 15% of the 37 with divine and the blooddrinker passive 5% boost to all lifesteal and I'm around 43% lifesteal. you can run lifestealing on your weapon if u want but I try to make up the lost damage with my weapon perks. there are armor and weapon runeglasses that give lifesteal but they have a cooldown, so you can't lifesteal from multiple people at once. the only thing in the game that comes close is running magnetic gauntlets with voidblade because void gauntlet gets 15% lifesteal per crit and has "voracious blade" perk
haven't played much since people started going crazy with the exploits but yeah typically heals in medium, conditioning heavy for me. think I was running both on my most recent medium build i tried
when i go into dungeon to farm artifacts i either swap social distance for rending throw or just put on a spear with perforate. I never pve unless I'm forced to for a piece i want lul
how did you add pen back stab on that hatchet? isn't it random? Must have been super lucky if that landed randomly when you bought it with the dabloons? thinking or substituting the chest with tumblr instead tho.. great vid btw i'm just starting to use BD and man it is so good lol
it's random when you buy it at 710 from the well (mine had infected throw) but you can upgrade it again at the well. it won't show up unless you have the hatchet and a coconut in your inventory. tumblers are alright for most medium builds but I'm beyond empower cap most of the time anyway so just having the constant 20% armor has feels better. and thank you brother 🤝 i hate playing without blooddrinker now that I've been used to it for so long haha
@@PJsurely appreciate the answer bro! didn't know you can do this. I'll prob do that for now. I honestly can't believe how good it is. I was using ankh or thirst on most builds. But if you can stay at empower cap most of the time then BD is super good.
How would you run GS and bow also how do you go about getting/Farming this gear Im on the fresh start servers with everyone else and am using GS and Bow but cant find anyone talking about this combo at all so Im not sure what to really go for
I don't enjoy bow so I never play it but how I would build it vs how most bow players would build it are very different haha most light dex are somewhere near 100con or less.. I don't every play that squishy. I'd still just play it medium 200con 350dex 50str. if u want more normal bow I'd probably check out an old diety vengy vid, not much has changed in the past year so I imagine most of what he says still applies
Brother can i ask you a question ? i have the 710 GS hatchet from the well of fortune, i have doubloons and i have coconuts but i still can't upgrade to 725 gs..am i missing something ?
items from the well get upgraded at the well, if it's not showing the option to add a perk make sure it's not equipped (has to be sitting in your bag) not added to any gearsets, and you don't have it locked to protect from being salvaged
@@PJsurely I got it in a chest bought at the well , the 3 daily purple chests...but it is not 710, maybe I have to get it from the 710 GS minimum chest
Uhhh, they lowered the Mana pot CD to 14s. I thought it was 18s before? I was popping Mana to keep Endless Thirst going. 14s is suuuweeeet. Thought Berserk on the Hatchet and Torrent on the armor was the way to go?
14s yeah, if you were running "refreshing toast" it was bugged last patch and actually making your pot cd's even longer. forgot to check if they fixed that this patch or not. I ran berserk on hatchet for a long time and didn't typically play torrent on gear at all bc it was only a few second reduction on gear but after some experimenting I think KB on gear and torrent on weapon is definitely the way i want to go. torrent is such good burst that having it up twice as often is very nice
@@PJsurely Hmmm, that Mana pot goes at 14s with or with out Refreshing toast but goes at 18s when I use Endless Thirst. Things that make ya go hmmmm. Doh,,, I'm an idiot Thirst makes also makes Mana CD 25% longer. Back to the sideline.
@@PJsurely So...normal pot CD's is H-24s, R-24s, M- 14s. With Refreshing toast it goes H22s, R22s, M14s. Use Thirst and it is H30s, R30s, M18s. Toast has no effect on Mana, but Thirst will increase it 25%. Guess 14s CD was too much of a buff for Thirst with it's 10s CD.
any of these weapon combos also viable in PvE? obviously understand that the perks/attributes/etc will probably be different, but are weapon combos themselves also viable for high end pve content?
depends what you're trying to do, M1 I do in pvp gear and just change my spear tree to include perforate normally. but if you're trying to do the new 10 man or the wurm I'm probably not the guy to ask haha I avoid pve. microw streamed the new raid very recently with a fresh start group, I'd peak in there honestly, he's usually pretty good about explaining his thought process n whatnot
I never play them together because serenity is just that much better than any other greatsword. gun to my head I'd use the island greatsword with trenchant strikes on it if I wanted to run them together
this is my newest video haha I ran keen berserk, vicious, pen backstab for a long time. it's still very good I'm just trying to get torrent, pen backstab, and plagued crits
@@PJsurely ah okay! I just got a 725 hatchet with pen backstab, purifying crits and abyssal attunement. Will better perks on a 700 hatchet be better, perhaps?
nah that's a very good hatchet just for different reasons. I considered running purifying crits as a counter to other hatchet players to strip their berserk. I would just say you definitely want to try to get keen berserk on your armor since it's not on your weapon
nature's wrath got nerfed pretty hard. you can outperform it's damage with just a few empowers now for a lotta weapons. the only thing is really does is give more consistent damage than relying on empowers
if i didn't have serenity but really wanted to play greatsword, I would get the greatsword from the pvp island and put trenchant strikes on it. a greatsword without trenchant strikes or at least trenchant crits I would salvage for the 3 gold lul
running berserk on armor now so I can run torrent on weapon, I always run pen backstab. last perk I'm a little torn but I'm leaning towards plagued crits
i didn't roll it brother, you pick the ship wrecker from the list of named items at the well (not the chest ones) and then as long as you have one in your inventory, not equipped, and a coconut the recipe to upgrade it shows up at the well and let's you choose the 3rd perk
hahah yeah I didn't realize the chest dropped hatchets also called ship wrecker or I woulda just shown what I meant. seems like quite a few people got hung up on that part
most of the stuff I have is crafted. if you're just trying to get a good starter set of gear together tho definitely go to nwdb.info and filter by named pieces, sort for the perks you want and then click on them to see who drops them. getting named gear together at the beginning is a lot easier than leveling crafting right away. since this patch tho everything after 700gs pretty much comes from pvp and the raids or crafting with raid items
ayy welcome brother 🤝 hope you're enjoying. and yeah I usually use hatchet/gs or spear/gs for perforate if I'm doing m1 for artifacts or named pieces or solo stuff. donno what the meta is for the groups that run wurm and the new 10man all the time tho
@@PJsurely thanks, yeah enjoying it so far. Hatchet is the most fun weapon for me so far, I’ve not used the gs much yet. Going to give it a try now. Appreciate the video and reply brother. 👍🏻
settings? nah brother, the only one that really affects pvp is turn on freeform movement and I turned on smartcast now that it's a thing. I don't use the dx12 version and I disabled all the gsync vsync aliasing all that crap
no worries, just depends what time of day you catch me lul smartcast doesn't do anything for the hatchet/gs build but it helps with the javelin on scorpion's sting and pillar when I play inferno
hi any good build vs a Flail/Lifestaff player cuse i think they are so tanky and hard to kill plus they do insane damage u can ez find like 5 of those builds in free world pvp lol most people are runing either Void/ lifestaff or Flail/Lifestaff nice video btw i just got serenity today at lv 30 pvp and im Hype to try some builds with it
yeah i been taking a break from nw til they fix some things, the meta is super annoying atm because of all the bugs/exploits. my normal answer to self-healing builds is serenity because skyward applies disease, heavies break their stam if they try to rat with flail, relentless applies a slow if they try to run, and overall it just chunks their health pretty fast
before I woulda said probably not but was watching benedictG the other day (only pve player i watch) and he was running hatchet/spear in an m3, so I guess people have finally accepted that hatchet is actually a good dps weapon lul
not really sure which one is the issue but if I don't turn all those off I get some screen tearing and pixelation, not as big a deal in a game like new world but I'm pretty used to playing shooters so things like that or frame drops are kind of jarring imo, performs better for me this way
I didnt really understand your runeglass explanation, you said bloodrinker doesn't count towards the extra damage over time stuff and it lowers your 20% to 17% so why run it?
so the dot runeglass counts as a debuff on the enemy. there's a passive on the hatchet skill tree that makes it do 10% more damage to people if they have a debuff on them. getting that 10% bonus damage is worth losing 3% on the moonstone because it guarantees they always have a debuff on them so we do more damage overall
after watching your videos, currently you are the only nw channel i took serious.
not only because of your game knowledge. thats the main part ofc. but also how straightforward you are. clean explanations etc. and also as u said, showing actual footages is important.
so, thank you for putting effort and sharing these videos man. it helps a lot.
damn, thank you my man. I try to be genuine so I truly appreciate that
Great guide with very well thought out strategies. Better than 90% of the other guides available. Well done.
ay thank you brother 🤝 appreciate the kind words
Amazing video brother, I was recommended to your channel by a friend and I'm glad I was, you definitely made me with alot of time, money and stress, thank you for taking the time to make and share this video with us, you definitely gained a life time subscriber
🤝 much appreciated brother, thank you for the thoughtful words honestly. feelsgoodman
I love so much that u add the pvp gameplay with the build. Keep up, I subscribed to see all the vids
ye it kinda really tilts me when people make "OMG BIS BLAH BLAH MUST TRY" and then never post any gameplay.. like I know why they don't but still. but thank you brother appreciate that
Played og launch. Cheers mate!
thank you brother 🤝 most of my gear I crafted with azoth inductors, it's pretty expensive but let's you choose all 3 perks at 700 gearscore
Hey man, just wanna leave a thanks, well done mate.
Clean, calm in depth explanation as to what, how, why and so on. Perfect for someone who just came back from a 2 year break and is a little overwhelmed with all the details and technicalities to catch up with. Great hint on that Hatchet Crit perk, i was wondering why i wasn't able to float like a butterfly and sting like a be as i remembered, but not even on the 3rd hit again? oof
At least the good old "Can't pan the camera around though im pushing the button - Feature" hasn't changed one bit since release :D
thank you brother 🤝 appreciate that. and yeah that one was kinda heartbreaking, I always ran it and never realized how long the cooldown actually was until finch said something about it. but I'd switch to freeform movement, basically don't need the free look key anymore
I’ve been having trouble picking a weapon combo but you helped me finally choose. I’ve always enjoyed spear and I’ve paired it with bow in the past but Hatchet is looking hella fun. And I can’t wait to get Scorpion. Just hit 58 tonight got the game Friday and your channel has been the most informative while all the others have seemed like 🤖
Also what should I run til I get Scorpion Sting?
lol thank you my man. hatchet is definitely fun, I ran it a lot even when it wasn't very good just because of that. glad you're enjoying the game tho brother 🤝 until you get sting id just run a regular spear honestly, my skill tree for normal spear is pretty similar just has perforate instead of javelin
This is great, thanks. Working on something for fresh start. Had no idea cross realm opr included legacy servers till yesterday.
ye if they weren't in the same opr pool I don't think opr would ever pop for legacy haha so many people went fresh
Cheers!
trying new builds is the only thing that kept me entertained for quite a while haha appreciate that brother 🤝
I'd prio enchanted ward, invigorated, and slash conditioning with featherweight and always blooddrinker for me
This is so much info. I need to come back to this :D love the video.
haha thank you brother, sorry I tried to just brain dump anything I could think of when I saw it for newer people that hadn't heard it before
@@PJsurely dont worry it just shows how much i need to learn :D keep doing you
🤝 don't worry I still learn new stuff all the time n been on it for 3 years haha
@@PJsurely quick question. Why do you have no artifact armors?
I do, this video I'm using void darkplate chest, last couple videos were djinn headwrap helmet
thanks so much for sharing knowledge on this! dope guide
do u have any tips for acquiring something close to this build for fresh start?
thank you brother 🤝 the best places to start without a ton of gold or materials are getting named pieces with some perks you want and adding the 3rd perk of your choice and just spam buying the chests at the well from pvp island
Build is crazy fun and now I can actually get blood drinker this week!
huge dub glad you're enjoying brother haha but nice I hadn't seen the mutation rotation this week yet, that'll be nice for fresh start
What’s some ideas for a starter build with no serenity?
I been running an alt char on fresh using a hatchet with the greataxe from the island with crippling reap on it. pretty solid
@@PJsurely cheers for the reply, i’ll give it a go until serenity drops 😃
I’ve watched this 100 times
single-handedly pumping the "average view duration". my man 🤝 lol
This is the One!!! Thank You!
🤝 thanks for checking it out brother
@@PJsurely gotcha thanks man💪🏽 would you run that one disease skill from hatchet instead at times or not really?
I've considered it a few times because it is very good, especially with the perk, but I'm just very used to having social distance available. plagued crits on your hatchet can be very helpful tho, then you don't need a runeglass can just run a regular moonstone because hatchet crits a lot so they always have some kind of debuff
@@PJsurely yeah that’s what I was thinking, thanks for your perspective on this.
@@PJsurely Cool thank you for the reply, could you give us an update soon on how its going with the new pvp perk on whether its a problem or beneficial or not noticable? . Thanks bud

If you could point me in the direction for that then id be super happy!

ayy lookin forward to it haha always love some new stuff. making a weird build rn but gonna take forever to get all the pieces lul
@ ok nice I’ll check it out. Thanks man for the feedback!
Nice build. Thoughts on using the tumbler feetwraps with it?
tumblers are still very very good for medium builds, I'm just starting to like the consistent affects you get with djinn and darkplate a bit more this season. it's a little harder to keep tumblers proc'd consistently with the changes they made to dodging

@@PJsurely What would be the bis hatchet you'll craft for 725? I'm about to spend my first Gorgon Essence.

@@PJsurely got it ty :D
@@PJsurely Nice glad to hear it is at least viable. GA+Hatchet are my fave weapons animation wise
ye they definitely pair well together
Will also go for the leeching, I love that stat!
ahh ok that's much different then, I only use featherweight when I play light i don't like being squishy haha www.5con.club/armour-calculator/ check out that site good stuff for figuring out armor combinations, rawberry2 on twitch is an animal light sns double melee player, his build is very good might be more what you're looking for
@@PJsurely I am too inspired NOT to try this build! My last question before I leave you alone: How do you get Penetrating Backstab on Ship Wrecker?
haha thank you, hope you enjoy it. and no worries, you just have to have one in your inventory and a goldcursed coconut for the recipe to show up at the well in CK, it costs some more doubloons and the craft mod too. I think you have to not have it locked, like protected from salvage for it to show as well
Great guide man, lot to digest as a new player. Any advice on how to progress on a fresh 65 on a fresh server?
thank you brother. and they've made leveling a good but simpler over the years, main story will get you most of the way there now and just mix in some of your trades along the way because it's kinda painful if you save it all for the end and gotta spend half a day smacking trees or hunting for ore lul there are a lotta systems/interactions to learn all at once, just take it bit by bit over time
@@PJsurely Sorry for not being clear enough :D I meant on a fresh server you may not have all the gear required for your build.
Thanks for this amazing guide, it is exactly the kind of build I was looking for :)
Is all the gear self crafted or crafted in generell?
no problem brother glad you enjoyed 🤝 and yeah I crafted almost all my pieces
Is this build okay for expeditions too? I assumed it’s still great in all solo pve content?
quite a few perks I use are pvp only so they don't help in dungeons but I just use my pvp gear for pve stuff, not a big deal. I will swap social distance throw for rending throw or put on a spear with perforate just to kill things faster tho
O Boy i play 2k h the game but this ist the stronges build i ever play. Thx for sharing
haha welcome, glad you're enjoying brother 🤝
@@PJsurely do you upgrade to 725GS ? how yo like to do it ?
the only 725 I have right now is a temporary hatchet from the island. it's alright. still can't upgrade artifacts sadly because ags hasn't fixed the bug yet. I'm still going to use mostly 700gs armor anyway for quite a while
@@PJsurely did you upgrade the hatchet or loot it at 725
it's just the one you can get at the well of fortune for doubloons and upgrade with a coconut
Are you crafting these items with full crafting outfit and max trophies in your house to achieve the gear score ?
yeah azoth inductor crafts for most of the things I'm using right now. gear, trophies, outfit, crafting food. basically need all of it
@@PJsurely Awesome cheers mate!!
I personally love enchanted ward + conditioning + SH on my medium spear/hatchet build for maximum damage reduction.
ye that's pretty common, or ench ward and double conditioning like slash + flame haha it's just so nice for my build being able to shake disease
I want to try out the same build. I am curious if you’ve found better success with void darkplate over tumbler feetwraps. Past videos you have used both. Is the armor and fortify that much better than tumblers in your opinion?
when they changed dodge no longer getting top priority in action-queueing it got a lot harder to have to foritfy consistently up from tumblers. going darkplate just gives 100% uptime and the cooldown on amulet perk shirking empower is much more forgiving than tumblers. basically same result but much easier to get value out of
@@PJsurely thank you for clarifying and the quick response!
no worries brother 🤝
what attribute setup would you use for hatchet / inferno
I usually go like 50dex 200con rest strength
Amazing video, thank you! Can i use 725 gear rather than 700 one? Sorry for the noob question, i'm new
appreciate that 🤝 and of course you can, wear your best gear haha it's just not worth it to me to farm 725 stuff, couple weapons and artifacts close enough for what I need
@@PJsurely thanks man champion. Love the build
@@PJsurely thanks for the reply's, apricate it. can you recommend any thing for the mean time as im on fresh servers not much in the way of gold
Good day, A question: Thank you first for this excellent guide, they are my two favorite weapons but they don't work very well together... My question is: Why don't you use Aggressive Shift? I understand that it guarantees entering Path on Slaught immediately, the next hit will be a critical hit secured by Keen Posture and grants 25% stamina and base health guaranteed by Critical Comeback
Would it increase with Blooddrinker...
I don't take the "next hit guaranteed crit" because typically it's wasted on the second hit of rush or skyward which means it crit but does no extra damage. other passives provide a lot more value. the 'energized' proc you can get is boosted by divine but not by blooddrinker because it's a self heal not lifesteal. hope that makes sense my man
@@PJsurely Got it! Many thanks for help :D
of course
Hey ! thanks for you video
I was hesitating between that and light armor, why do you use medium is better ? :D
Beside, i really don't want to play with two skills with GS, what should I do ?
I love your build, I try to replicate and works just fine, but I dont know if I should use tumbler instead of void darkplate.
thanks brother 🤝 and theres no reason you can't run tumblers, I ran them for a long time in medium. they're just harder to keep proc'd consistently now with the dodge changes. switching to darkplate and a shirking empower amulet basically accomplishes the same thing but it's way more consistent
@@PJsurely Thanks a lot! So I will use tumbler till I get a new amulet.
I made a fresh char a few days ago that just has 5 shirking heals and every other perk is nonsense, no defensive perks. still bodyslamming people lul I wouldn't stress about it too much
word thanks bro. earned a new sub. keep up the good work
What do you think of the hoplite hatchet from the new raid? I’ve got it and have been debating adding emp rending throw or keen berserk to it so I can use it pve&pvp. That said I’m open to suggestion on how to build it.
I'm sure it's good for something, those just aren't perks I'd look to run for the way i play. if you run berserk, keen berserk imo is damn near must have on either weapon or armor. but if you do a lot of throwing then yeah getting rending throw on weapon and KB on armor probably the move
It’ll be interesting to see how disdained infliction does in PvP. I suspect it won’t be as useful as the established bis perks but could be interesting in some builds.
the only thing that really came to mind when I first saw it was bleed rapier but I'm sure somebody will come up with a clever use for it eventually
hey man, for this build, what do you think of using ironheart artifact with 4 pieces of health, 5 piece shirk heals, 4 piece shirk fort on top of fortifying toast. it'll be 21k hp with 40% fortify and I sacrifice relentless freedom for shirkfort but i use stoneform as a replacement?
What would you recommend is the best way to farm for the gear for this build. Im new and dtill unsure on how to obtain gear properly
most of the stuff in the build i was running for this vid are crafted. the best way to get a good starter set is search nwdb for named pieces with locked perks you like and then you get to choose the 3rd perk when you upgrade it at the gypsum kiln. graverobber's hat and scaled gauntlets are some I usually use as an example
update video on this build? have you changed anything since
I play a different build basically every time I log on brother haha but no, you don't need to change anything there haven't been any balance patches since this.
@@PJsurely Thank you dude, is Void darkplate farmable btw?
no problem. I haven't played in a bit, not sure if it's in rotation this week but it drops from mutated barnacles
@ no problem bro thank you 🙏
@@PJsurely Hey surely why do PvP player keep telling me blood drinker is for pve only and should never taker it over Endless?
Love the guide and looking forward to keep playing the build :)
of course 🤝 and thank you brother, hope you enjoy haha
Do you think spending 50 points on focus could be good for the 10% heal incomming ? Does it work with Blooddrinker and shirling heals ?
it does boost them like having another divine but there's no way I'd waste that many points on that unless I was running flail or vg
Do you hunt any items from the X Gorgon for your new PvP build? Is Vorpal good for hatchet compare with other weapon’s perk?
nah there's no way I'd run vorpal on a hatchet brother haha but I don't do the wurm or raid, whatever I can get from pvp or craft is just gonna have to be good enough
@@PJsurely can I put a leeching moonstone into weapon along with blooddrinker?
no reason you can't, i just don't use the leeching runeglass because they have a cooldown
Thoughts on GS with sword and shield? Is it a fun combo to run
it's a very good combo, the aesthetic is just weird to me of a big sword n a lil sword so I don't run it haha mightymaster ran that in heavy for a long time n just mauled people with it
Question: When you made active Beserk it doesnt going to cooldown suddenly. Once the Beserk mode is deactived then cooldown is starting. So in light of that, before the fighting usually we want to Beserk in our hands and imo we cannot use this cooldown gems during the beserk (notsure). so im confused could u explain it bro ? Thanks a alot for the video btw.
yeah i did a video a while back showing that for the purposes of moonstone gem, berserk is treated as if it's on cooldown as soon as you activate it
@PJsurely thanks bro for quick reply
Is Invigorated really usefull ?
Physical Aversion/Elemental Aversion or any Conditioning is not better ?
depends on your build and how you play. probably not gonna help a 50con full ranged player, conditioning is strong i just don't usually have the perk spots to run it. invigorated is just very good for me specifically because of the way I play and build, sometimes I'm fighting 4 people at the same time and they're hitting me with every debuff in the game, the faster I can get that crap off me and get back to being tanky with all my healing working properly the better
@PJsurely focus gems on ranged classes? So instead of moonstones go something else?
yeah like if you have 15 slash from slash con and a thrust amulet then you can stack opals and be kinda tanky against everything
@PJsurely damm i found those exact boots on the AH for only 1200 but when I put them on I go to heavy because the scaled gauntlets.
you should be exactly 22.9 M helm, H chest, H gloves, L pants, M boots
So after all this time, do u still prefer SH over some conditioning on armor?
haven't played much since people started going crazy with the exploits but yeah typically heals in medium, conditioning heavy for me. think I was running both on my most recent medium build i tried
Sup bro loving the look of this build gonna try it myself, would you say this is good/fun to run in pve or what would you change?
when i go into dungeon to farm artifacts i either swap social distance for rending throw or just put on a spear with perforate. I never pve unless I'm forced to for a piece i want lul
@PJsurely siick thanks man only just got this on console not even at max lvl yet but keeping this for then 💪💪
ayy welcome brother, hope you're enjoying. real grind starts when you hit 65 haha
how did you add pen back stab on that hatchet? isn't it random?
But if you can stay at empower cap most of the time then BD is super good.
of course 🤝 and yeah i been recommending it but it never really caught on with a lotta people haha is what it is, I enjoy it
How would you run GS and bow also how do you go about getting/Farming this gear Im on the fresh start servers with everyone else and am using GS and Bow but cant find anyone talking about this combo at all so Im not sure what to really go for
I don't enjoy bow so I never play it but how I would build it vs how most bow players would build it are very different haha most light dex are somewhere near 100con or less..

Thanks you @@PJsurely , I've just realised my hatchet comes with 704GS( unlucky ), not 710...so I think I can't upgrade it , right ?
pretty sure ship wrecker always drops 710, that's the one you can upgrade. it doesn't come from a chest it's in the list of weapons at the well
@@PJsurely I got it in a chest bought at the well , the 3 daily purple chests...but it is not 710, maybe I have to get it from the 710 GS minimum chest

definitely not mandatory, just what I was running at the time. I run the same build with djinn headwrap a lot. easy free solo farm artifact
Back to the sideline.
that shouldn't be the case, p sure thirst is only supposed to make healing pots longer. weird
Guess 14s CD was too much of a buff for Thirst with it's 10s CD.
lol that's so chalked
any of these weapon combos also viable in PvE?
obviously understand that the perks/attributes/etc will probably be different, but are weapon combos themselves also viable for high end pve content?
depends what you're trying to do, M1 I do in pvp gear and just change my spear tree to include perforate normally. but if you're trying to do the new 10 man or the wurm I'm probably not the guy to ask haha I avoid pve. microw streamed the new raid very recently with a fresh start group, I'd peak in there honestly, he's usually pretty good about explaining his thought process n whatnot
What great sword do you use if you are using scorpions sting?
I never play them together because serenity is just that much better than any other greatsword. gun to my head I'd use the island greatsword with trenchant strikes on it if I wanted to run them together
No djinn in the future?
Hey bro, just wondering how do you get that armor you have? is it from crafting?
most of my stuff for this build I crafted yeah

@@PJsurely ah okay! I just got a 725 hatchet with pen backstab, purifying crits and abyssal attunement. Will better perks on a 700 hatchet be better, perhaps?
nah that's a very good hatchet just for different reasons. I considered running purifying crits as a counter to other hatchet players to strip their berserk. I would just say you definitely want to try to get keen berserk on your armor since it's not on your weapon

when you upgrade them at the gypsum kiln and choose your 3rd they become 700gs
can you post the build on new world buddy?
can you use natures wrath instead of void plate?
nature's wrath got nerfed pretty hard. you can outperform it's damage with just a few empowers now for a lotta weapons. the only thing is really does is give more consistent damage than relying on empowers
For fresh start servers what are good perks to look out for on a GS till we get Serenity ??
if i didn't have serenity but really wanted to play greatsword, I would get the greatsword from the pvp island and put trenchant strikes on it. a greatsword without trenchant strikes or at least trenchant crits I would salvage for the 3 gold lul
@@PJsurelyNice! and what perks would you be running on the hatchet since the island weps kinda suck pen back stab and what other 2 ?
running berserk on armor now so I can run torrent on weapon, I always run pen backstab. last perk I'm a little torn but I'm leaning towards plagued crits
@@PJsurely does this exact build work if i just used GS and spear or does the build make the hatchet do more bonker dmg?
no reason you can't, I just don't enjoy the combo
What’s your thoughts on Sin?
I never play it. people basically just use it for cheese builds, sin itself does less damage than most regular hatchets
Does the GS/Hatchet build work in light armor? Can't stand medium
of course, you just have to be even more careful about being in onslaught stance. I just always play medium
Yo is it true you can ONLY get serenity from PvP tracks 29,39,59,69,79 89,99 until you hit 100 then it becomes more random?
yep, pretty much nailed it. the pvp track ones can be kinda brutal
what do u think about this build but with hatchet sns?
still very good, I just don't play sns in medium
@@PJsurelyhey 1 more weapon change. Hatchet and grest axe. I tested it.. oto rly good opr aganiat mages. Blood dust does job. What do u think?
yeah ga best rat catcher weapon
How many rolls roughly did it take for you to get the penetrating backstab on the hatchet? ive bought 5 and not managed to roll it :(
i didn't roll it brother, you pick the ship wrecker from the list of named items at the well (not the chest ones) and then as long as you have one in your inventory, not equipped, and a coconut the recipe to upgrade it shows up at the well and let's you choose the 3rd perk
@@PJsurely RIP to me for doing that then loool
@@PJsurely Thank you also for the help ill make sure to do it next time round
hahah yeah I didn't realize the chest dropped hatchets also called ship wrecker or I woulda just shown what I meant. seems like quite a few people got hung up on that part
@@PJsurely No worries you explained it now and thats all that matters for me, my fault im such a noob :) thanks mate
Maybe noob question but wher do you Get the Armor ? Raid ? Craft ? PvP ?
most of the stuff I have is crafted. if you're just trying to get a good starter set of gear together tho definitely go to nwdb.info and filter by named pieces, sort for the perks you want and then click on them to see who drops them. getting named gear together at the beginning is a lot easier than leveling crafting right away. since this patch tho everything after 700gs pretty much comes from pvp and the raids or crafting with raid items
New console player here. Would hatchet greatsword work for PvE dps too?
ayy welcome brother 🤝 hope you're enjoying. and yeah I usually use hatchet/gs or spear/gs for perforate if I'm doing m1 for artifacts or named pieces or solo stuff. donno what the meta is for the groups that run wurm and the new 10man all the time tho
@@PJsurely thanks, yeah enjoying it so far. Hatchet is the most fun weapon for me so far, I’ve not used the gs much yet. Going to give it a try now. Appreciate the video and reply brother. 👍🏻
Do you have any settings guide for pvp?
settings? nah brother, the only one that really affects pvp is turn on freeform movement and I turned on smartcast now that it's a thing. I don't use the dx12 version and I disabled all the gsync vsync aliasing all that crap
@@PJsurely thanks for the fast response. Btw how does smartcast help with this build of the video?
no worries, just depends what time of day you catch me lul smartcast doesn't do anything for the hatchet/gs build but it helps with the javelin on scorpion's sting and pillar when I play inferno
@@PJsurely ❤
Did you craft all your own gear?
most of it yeah. got earring on tp
hi any good build vs a Flail/Lifestaff player cuse i think they are so tanky and hard to kill plus they do insane damage u can ez find like 5 of those builds in free world pvp lol most people are runing either Void/ lifestaff or Flail/Lifestaff nice video btw i just got serenity today at lv 30 pvp and im Hype to try some builds with it
yeah i been taking a break from nw til they fix some things, the meta is super annoying atm because of all the bugs/exploits. my normal answer to self-healing builds is serenity because skyward applies disease, heavies break their stam if they try to rat with flail, relentless applies a slow if they try to run, and overall it just chunks their health pretty fast
@PJsurely hey ty for the reply and yeah game is cancer atm but there is nothing else better to play.
I'm farming poe2 rn brother, good times honestly
@@PJsurely u know what I'll give it a try to poe2 even tho I'm not a fan of Diavlo type of games but who knows may end up liking it.
feel that, I normally only play pvp games but it's actually been kinda challenging surprisingly
How did you get blooddrinker isn’t it from M1 Starstone ?
legacy server. been playing blooddrinker for a year straight lul
Oh ok that makes sense haha i just figured everyone was playing fresh start 😂 yes I cant wait for that ring it’s the missing piece to my build
Why did u change the Spear for greatsword?
I just run whatever feels fun that day, still play basically everything except bow/musket/lifestaff
Will this build work for pve m3 expeditions?
before I woulda said probably not but was watching benedictG the other day (only pve player i watch) and he was running hatchet/spear in an m3, so I guess people have finally accepted that hatchet is actually a good dps weapon lul
what are your graphic settings? I have everything on max and your game looks far better than mine
pretty sure I left on high everything, 1440p, and don't use the dx12 crap. vsync gsync any of that crap all off
@@PJsurely Thanks for your response. Do you feel like the game has an aliasing problem too?
not really sure which one is the issue but if I don't turn all those off I get some screen tearing and pixelation, not as big a deal in a game like new world but I'm pretty used to playing shooters so things like that or frame drops are kind of jarring imo, performs better for me this way
how can i get the armor set? do i craft or drop it?
this set is almost all crafted items items. you can get kinda close with named items and choosing the 3rd perk at the kiln
@@PJsurely Gotcha, i picked up the same runeglass you have, the lightning one!!
