This is somewhat similar to the Gandalf build that came out a while ago which got a lot of negative comments but I did love the combo though I think this build is doing a lot more damage than it used to. Hey man, love your vids. New to the game and your guides are by far the best. Just curious, with the hatchet nerf if I could swap your serenity/hatchet build and go serenity/sword and shield instead, but keep everything else the same. I have about half the gear collected, would hate to start over.
appreciate the kind words brother. yeah sns/gs is still a good build, I just personally don't like playing sns in anything but heavy because equipping a shield messes up your total armor

You said you dont pve much, is there a way to get the materia for the kiln to craft the armor that doesnt involve running the expedition? Or do you just have to grind glacial tarn a lot to get the armor and materia? Loveing your channel by the way.
thank you brother 🤝 yeah I ran the dungeon a lot when it was up to get the pieces with random perks and just changed them over time and got a bunch of mutator materia from a few season passes. u can get materia from running any mutation it's just not a lot per run
people still tell me it's bad.. they also told me djinn was bad, hatchet was bad, and hatchet/inferno was a bad combo because "they didn't have synergy"... most people can be ignored brother 🤝

Amazing build brother ! GGs ! The amount of dmg you're doing with your sword is crazy despite you're using Blood drinker. Not to mention you're taking No dmg at all it must be demoralizing for your opponents 😂😂😂

I think you kinda missed the point i was going for a bit, I know my medium hatchet build has better damage, my issue with heavy sns is i take next to no damage but am still able to do pretty decent damage considering I'm heavy and wearing blooddrinker. that's a 40% damage penalty but it still easily out-trades people
What about running inferno with sns in a medium build with blood drinker? The dmg boost from inferno (which I think transfers to your sword?) would negate the base dmg loss from blood drinker making it a good competitor of sns/hatchet. Thoughts?

depends which one you're talking about but I assume you mean the lifestealing, blooddrinker artifact ring has 33% lifesteal. my heartrune heals for a crap load. regen potions are a heal over time
melee used to track (step forward while swinging) towards the enemy when they were dodging it just wouldn't hit them. now if they dodge your character stands in place swinging at air like an idiot while they get away for free. basically forces you to use your dodges just to stay on top of people instead of saving it to dodge attacks.
@@PJsurely ahhh, that's very helpful. This doesn't seem to happen on Void Blade, but I'm still a novice. Also, wouldn't your SNS / Firestaff build be a counter to this running?
it happens with voidblade but it's probably not as noticeable because it tracks better (pulls you from further away) than all the melee weapons when people aren't dodging. and yeah if I ran the build from this vid regularly it wouldn't be an issue but this was kind of a meme, I typically play double melee
Hey man your videos got me back into the game, but how do you deal with the fact they've ruined the nameplates? I can't tell who's enemy or friendly in OPR and either swing at friendlies or get smacked up by some no nameplate dude that I thought was friendly
easy, just drink while i play lul nah but it is annoying as hell. if i lose track of who's who I hover over their body for a quick second and it prioritizes them over others nearby.
legacy server valhalla. and every season they give you materia on the season pass to craft whatever at the kiln. think I got 10 pieces of dawn gear just spamming the dungeon one season and crafted the rest
the well weapons you upgrade right at the well, don't need the kiln for those. if you have one in your inventory and a coconut the recipe to upgrade them shows up at the well
Hey man, got a couple questions if you could help. First of all how the hell you do so much dmg with blooddrinker equipped? I'm playing VG/abyss with BD and the axe is doing no dmg at all, max 28o0 crits when enemies are under 30% hp. I've seen you do a 5k white hit dafuq? I basically use the axe only for utility since it does no dmg, tho it is not upgraded to 725 yet. I have void harnessing on 4 pieces, running 304 int, 50 foc and 200 stam. Any tips would be highly appreciated mate 🙏 also how important are shirking heals on a vg build with BD? Cause i have none 😅
I mean damage depends on a lotttta things. I try to explain what I run because even all your passive choices tie together with your perks but if there was a 5k non-crit in this video it was probably upheaval, it already hits stupidly hard and abilities almost always do more than light/heavy attacks bc people wear enchanted ward and 350 str/int bonus. 2800 crit with abyss isn't bad. I wouldn't run that stat split tho, and it looks like you're missing attribute food. if you wanna run vg/abyss I'd just copy charlietea's build. he's a good player and runs that a lot. shirking heals not really important for med/heavy but it's better than most other options if you're playing light
SnS been overtuned for a verrrry long time haha I used to do nothing but arenas until the population was so small you couldn't find a match lul haven't done any since patch tho
I ran that some when inferno first came out because it also did strike damage haha you could run the same exact thing just on the shield instead of shield rush try to get eruption or vortex. really don't gotta change anything else
I like your vids, but I'm a bit confused about where your allegiance lies. You said this build has low dmg and you can't kill people fast, but on other fights you said tower shield should be nerfed because it deals too much dmg...which is it ? As a side note, I see your channel is small, but compared to other NW cc, you have cool builds that don't rely only on light armor. You also focus more on gameplay instead of theorycrafting, so is there a chance you could upload more often ?
the build isn't intended to be a high dps build, i was trying to make it clear to people that they shouldn't expect to run this and put up light armor hatchet type damage. but at the same time the build is strong because it still does more damage than you'd expect from a build with a 40% damage penalty between heavy armor and blooddrinker. my stance is that heavy armor tower shield builds shouldn't even be in the same realm of damage as a light armor player since they mitigate an absurd amount of damage by comparison. appreciate you checking out the channel and the feedback but I only do this as a hobby and still work a normal job so uploading once a week is about as good as it's gonna get haha and when the game is full of bugs/exploits like it is right now it's discouraging to even log on the small amount I do now

yeah there's a lotta those floating around haha maybe I'll see if kd ocean wants to come on for a vid and share his tech. some of them stack refreshing ward from old pieces, some stack frigid dawn with the wall. couple different ways to go about it

these i crafted with azoth inductors, took a while to save a few up and they're an expensive craft but they let you choose all 3 perks and are guaranteed 700gs. flail/inferno definitely works just as well, played that for a while actually
If you do your daily mutated expeditions then you get the Dense Materia to craft the frigid dawn pieces at the gypsum kiln. That or get lucky and get them from the Glacial Tarn expedition.
I enjoy my hatchet build more but the SnS build is definitely stronger and easier to play. that's why I don't really understand the hatchet hate when this exists haha

Same build just without blooddrinker, so you get 25% more dmg, and as a tank u anyways prety tanky, and dont so much dmg so so a lot less life stealing. And 2. Same build but with medium set, so have more dmg. 3 same build medium without blooddrinker
ahh i see. most people don't use blooddrinker for a tank because they just play with a healer but in my opinion it's just always worth running for a solo player. healing for like 700 a swing per person you swing thru.. it's worth the damage loss, just gotta play differently. I don't normally play SnS in medium because the shield messes up your max weight and you end up with less armor than just not having a shield
Hey bro, i wanna try this build out cause GS is so fking fun, getting tired of VB clunkiness... i don't have serenity cause i'm new so i got a question cause i can't make up my mind. Do I go Grace + winged shoes for crazy mobility + 10% base dmg or is wishing well GS + inferno better and then i get to use void plate aswell. Or maybe just run grace with void plate but then lose dmg? Also do i put trench crits or strikes on sword? I have crit chance on my blooddrinker. Btw your gameplay is so smooth you are crazy good pvper, 1v3-4 and staying at full hp lmao
thank you brother 🤝 I don't really like grace personally, it comes with a forced dead perk in vicious. I was making a build for another vid using the island gs with tren strikes and magnetic gauntlets but the last time I got on everybody was running a ridiculous amount of slash resist so I think my next vid is gonna be a spear build. if you don't have serenity but wanna run gs I'd go with the island gs and tren strikes over tren crits. if you like the winged shoes and play opr you can always just get zephyr cakes when the match starts. free 15% permanent haste and it counts to give you the damage bonus on winged shoes
@PJsurely thanks bro for the tips. Have you got also any named armor recommendations for start? Atm im using frigid dawn helm with slash con + chest/survivors coat (no void plate yet) and the rest are from trade post and kinda bad, only my shoes have enchanted ward + thrust con
no problem my man. my default recommendations for starter gear that work for most builds are graverobber's hat, dawn chest, scaled gauntlets, azoth crystal pants and boots just because they're all pretty easy to get and have mostly good perks

The only problem with those pieces is that i would have too much str with magnify and no dex and my dmg would be lowered alot :/ suppose theres no workaround with that, even with dex food i wouldnt even hit 50 dex :s guess i'll just have to camp trade post for some decent stuff, there are sick pants posted but with focus 😭
it's a little hard to explain how to do it thru text but if you set your magnify to "highest" you can go 200str 200dex 200con you kinda have to fidget with it until you have even points in each. n lul yeah it kinda sucks when things are locked to a crappy stat. make sure you grab your 3 chests a day from the well of fortune. only 35 doubloons each and can drop 725

Yeah, i try to build a tank, but i don't want to bis GS or Hammer in dungeon... I wan to go up to M3 (i think it's the top difficulty). And always without méta build if possible.. i want personality in my gameplay
ahh yeah I wouldn't try inferno in an m3 haha unless you're with people you know, they'd probably be pretty pissed. if you wanna try something off meta seen people tank in light with a rapier.. just gotta know all the mechanics really well or you'll get 1 shot

Is it possible to maybe go over actual pvp tech not limited to the build you are playing like GS hatchet, the fact u stay alive for the amount of time that you do has to be alot more then just the build. I didn't watch the whole video so i don't know if you mentioned. Is this a legacy character fighting fresh start in OPR? only reason you doing so much damage is because not everyone got gear yet with good gems because they're so expensive. Cool build though.

definitely not haha just a fun build, sns is strong and easy to play. inferno is just there to boost damage and give mobility. my normal build is hatchet + greatsword/spear but I kinda really despise lifetaker/musket at the moment
I have been rank 1 for this build for a long time in arenas. You have a lot of the groundwork done here, I would avoid blood drinker, do endless - or survivor coat with endless over void dark plate. Also inferno is made for flamethrower.
as somebody that played hatchet for 3 years ghost swinging thru people, I'm glad they finally fixed it haha think a lotta people don't understand why it's sticky now that it's actually connecting. it doesn't even pull as hard as ga or sns, but it attacks faster so it constantly refreshes the dodge roll distance decrease you get from getting hit by a melee attack on top of the slow from social d also decreasing ur dodge roll distance. torrent actually has better pull than autos
@@PJsurely Yeah the ghost melees were MAD frustrating that's true. I had two friends who stopped playing Hatchet bc of them. I just get Greataxe day 1 lunge vietnam flashbacks rn when I see a Hatchet running at me in 3v3 :(

FS is broken in general since like a 2 years, its damage is absurd and if tou dont know how to get closer its a 100% win for fFS, hooe they listen to console players now that they have to nerf it. A bit

Bro... my spear and/or hatchet do way more damage than sword. Sword damage is not op. I can burn down some faster with those weapons than sword.

I understand fire staff is important in build if you were going to run a different off hand what would you run..
it's basically there for the damage boost to the sword. otherwise probably hatchet, GA, bb something to slow down the rats or help chase them

these i crafted with azoth inductors, took a while to save a few up and they're an expensive craft but they let you choose all 3 perks and are guaranteed 700gs. flail/inferno definitely works just as well, played that for a while actually

If you do your daily mutated expeditions then you get the Dense Materia to craft the frigid dawn pieces at the gypsum kiln. That or get lucky and get them from the Glacial Tarn expedition.

this one.. lol nah heavy sns is very good and pretty easy to play tho. slap a hatchet or spear on there with it and good to go

I enjoy my hatchet build more but the SnS build is definitely stronger and easier to play. that's why I don't really understand the hatchet hate when this exists haha

not sure what you're asking brother, i play every build with blooddrinker. my normal build is medium armor but it's not sword and shield

Same build just without blooddrinker, so you get 25% more dmg, and as a tank u anyways prety tanky, and dont so much dmg so so a lot less life stealing. And 2. Same build but with medium set, so have more dmg. 3 same build medium without blooddrinker
ahh i see. most people don't use blooddrinker for a tank because they just play with a healer but in my opinion it's just always worth running for a solo player. healing for like 700 a swing per person you swing thru.. it's worth the damage loss, just gotta play differently. I don't normally play SnS in medium because the shield messes up your max weight and you end up with less armor than just not having a shield

for me it's the medium hatchet/serenity build. has pretty good mobility, good damage, good survivability
Hey bro, i wanna try this build out cause GS is so fking fun, getting tired of VB clunkiness... i don't have serenity cause i'm new so i got a question cause i can't make up my mind. Do I go Grace + winged shoes for crazy mobility + 10% base dmg or is wishing well GS + inferno better and then i get to use void plate aswell. Or maybe just run grace with void plate but then lose dmg? Also do i put trench crits or strikes on sword? I have crit chance on my blooddrinker. Btw your gameplay is so smooth you are crazy good pvper, 1v3-4 and staying at full hp lmao
thank you brother 🤝 I don't really like grace personally, it comes with a forced dead perk in vicious. I was making a build for another vid using the island gs with tren strikes and magnetic gauntlets but the last time I got on everybody was running a ridiculous amount of slash resist so I think my next vid is gonna be a spear build. if you don't have serenity but wanna run gs I'd go with the island gs and tren strikes over tren crits. if you like the winged shoes and play opr you can always just get zephyr cakes when the match starts. free 15% permanent haste and it counts to give you the damage bonus on winged shoes
@PJsurely thanks bro for the tips. Have you got also any named armor recommendations for start? Atm im using frigid dawn helm with slash con + chest/survivors coat (no void plate yet) and the rest are from trade post and kinda bad, only my shoes have enchanted ward + thrust con
no problem my man. my default recommendations for starter gear that work for most builds are graverobber's hat, dawn chest, scaled gauntlets, azoth crystal pants and boots just because they're all pretty easy to get and have mostly good perks

The only problem with those pieces is that i would have too much str with magnify and no dex and my dmg would be lowered alot :/ suppose theres no workaround with that, even with dex food i wouldnt even hit 50 dex :s guess i'll just have to camp trade post for some decent stuff, there are sick pants posted but with focus 😭
it's a little hard to explain how to do it thru text but if you set your magnify to "highest" you can go 200str 200dex 200con you kinda have to fidget with it until you have even points in each. n lul yeah it kinda sucks when things are locked to a crappy stat. make sure you grab your 3 chests a day from the well of fortune. only 35 doubloons each and can drop 725

Yeah, i try to build a tank, but i don't want to bis GS or Hammer in dungeon... I wan to go up to M3 (i think it's the top difficulty).

ahh yeah I wouldn't try inferno in an m3 haha unless you're with people you know, they'd probably be pretty pissed. if you wanna try something off meta seen people tank in light with a rapier.. just gotta know all the mechanics really well or you'll get 1 shot

Is it possible to maybe go over actual pvp tech not limited to the build you are playing like GS hatchet, the fact u stay alive for the amount of time that you do has to be alot more then just the build.

not sure if you mean sns/gs or inferno/gs but mightymaster used to run heavy sns/gs for a long time very effectively. it's definitely good I just don't like the aesthetic of a big sword n a lil sword haha

I didn't watch the whole video so i don't know if you mentioned. Is this a legacy character fighting fresh start in OPR? only reason you doing so much damage is because not everyone got gear yet with good gems because they're so expensive. Cool build though.

Well let me tell you that in fresh start server only a few have shirking heal. Thats a masive diff in gear just bc that perk.
this build doesn't even have shirking heals.. literally gear that's available to everyone, don't even need crafting

definitely not haha just a fun build, sns is strong and easy to play. inferno is just there to boost damage and give mobility. my normal build is hatchet + greatsword/spear but I kinda really despise lifetaker/musket at the moment

I have been rank 1 for this build for a long time in arenas. You have a lot of the groundwork done here, I would avoid blood drinker, do endless - or survivor coat with endless over void dark plate. Also inferno is made for flamethrower.
Honestly Hatchet damage is totally fine, its the stickiness of its auto attacks that I cant stand
as somebody that played hatchet for 3 years ghost swinging thru people, I'm glad they finally fixed it haha think a lotta people don't understand why it's sticky now that it's actually connecting. it doesn't even pull as hard as ga or sns, but it attacks faster so it constantly refreshes the dodge roll distance decrease you get from getting hit by a melee attack on top of the slow from social d also decreasing ur dodge roll distance. torrent actually has better pull than autos
@@PJsurely Yeah the ghost melees were MAD frustrating that's true. I had two friends who stopped playing Hatchet bc of them. I just get Greataxe day 1 lunge vietnam flashbacks rn when I see a Hatchet running at me in 3v3 :(

I think it feels the same as last patch damage-wise it just doesn't ghost swing thru people like it used to. I figure that's at least part of it, people probably aren't used to hatchet just being right on top of them
