    The FF3 pixel remaster absolutely slaps btw, I just finished it earlier today and it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for in terms of turn-based JRPGs

    Prelude isn't the Final Fantasy series' main theme. Final Fantasy's main theme is called Final Fantasy and it's incredible. It plays as you cross the bridge for the first time in FFI, when Cecil and Kain leave Baron, and it often plays during the ending credits.

    a bit of misinformation. the Crystal Theme (aka the Prelude) is not the main theme of the series. That honor goes to the theme known as Final Fantasy (also called Prologue)

    When that person was talking about how Final Fantasy I was based on Dungeons and Dragons, the guy forgot to bring up that one of the monsters was changed overseas. It was the Eye monster and in Japan, it was basically the Beholder, a staple D&D monster.

      Viewing it as a DnD game makes a playthrough feel different

    • @0Fyrebrand0
      @0Fyrebrand0 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Huh, I forgot all about that. Yeah, the original sprite is blatantly a rip-off of a beholder and the one they replaced it with looks like a pretty lame afterthought in comparison. I guess that's why they switched over to the "ahriman" style of enemy after that..?

    • @FlashaniMan247
      @FlashaniMan247 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@0Fyrebrand0 I think we can say that aside from a few enemies from Final Fantasy I, the rest of the series had its own identity in terms of original enemies, like the Bomb, Malboro, Iron Giant, Tonberry, and Cactuar.

    Playing FF1 on my iphone isnt too bad. I was playing FF8 on mobile and i was enjoying it, but i think I’ll keep the 8 bit games on the iphone, and the bigger 3d games on my ipad mini. I have the switch, but its nice to be able to play on mobile, and with some extra features too, like max stats.

    these new pixelated releases are very charming. I might even give FF 3 and 5 (when it comes out) a try. I still haven't played those.
    I do think that, visually, the PSP versions of these Final Fantasy games are better. only in the graphic style aspect tho, cuz the music in this new remaster collection is very good. very good indeed.
    just for the music alone is worth playing these games again, I would say. just like they did with that new Legend of mana remaster. the game looks and feels old, but the music is in a complete different level. high quality stuff.
    actually, that's the real reason why I'm giving these ancient FF games a try, cuz to hell with random battles!!!!!!!
    no matter how good the game is, or if it is a cult classic or whatever. it has random battles? well, fuq dat shit. I ain't playing that game.
    just kidding. Imma play them all, eventually 😁
    get rid of that archaic gameplay tho. no need for random battles in RPGs nowadays. it ain't fun.

      Totally fair! I bought it just to see how it would be and I just say my mind is totally changed. This port job is amazing. I do wish it had the extra stuff since ff1 is based on the gba difficulty rather than the NES difficulty already but sae la vie. I hope if you do grab them you enjoy them!

    • @DanielandYuka
      @DanielandYuka 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@malpercio123 I’ve bought every other original iOS release of the FF series…(1-9) so my desire is waning a little that they deprecated the original 6 as OLD, just to resell these again… I do kinda like the 3D FF3, FF4, and kinda wish they’d given this treatment to FF6, and ChronoTrigger!!
      I actually quite liked the sprite refresh for the original iOS release of FF5 and FF6… so going back to jagged SNES sprites which are worse than emulators with all the filters… is not that appealing, AND FULL PRICE?!
      I mean Square is spending resources pulling stunts like this… when they could be remaking or revisiting games like Parasite Eve, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Vagrant Story, Front Mission, or Brave Fencer Musashi?
      LOL it’s the 30th anniversary of Square’s Tom Sawyer… a remaster and cultural adjustment to the 2020s would be amusing to witness, as the game was kinda fun and had interesting concepts (if you ignored the awful racist stereotypes and character designs)…

    • @M_Alexander
      @M_Alexander 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dawn of Souls is so dreadfully easy that it was no fun for me. It's an easier version of the Easy Mode from Origins except you can't switch it off.
      Personally I feel like Origins (using a port of the WSC remake) is still the best version of FF1

    • @DeskoDev

      @@M_Alexander In terms of official releases (no mods/hacks), the best versions for me are Dawn of Souls for content (on PSP, alternatively 3DS if you can speak Japanese), the PS1 version for having the most accurate gameplay even with the QoL changes, and the pixel remaster for newcomers to the game itself.
