  • This video is about how I photograph long exposures film photography using my Mamiya 7 with Fujifilm Velvia 50. I scan the files into my Apple iMac 5k computer using Silverfast and the Epson v800. I edit the photos using Adobe Lightroom and I print the images on Hahnemuhle paper with the Canon Pixma Pro 1.
    Did you see my latest book Volcanic Aotearoa New Zealand? It tells Māori legend stories of love and war between New Zealand’s volcanoes, it is a story of how I faced my fear of volcanic activity, and it shows my journey with film photography since 2019.
    My book is on sale with a special launch price. Please order quickly because the prices will increase in October to match the retail price. Order now and receive a 10% discount on the Volcanic Aotearoa Limited Edition Prints. The discount code will be automatically added to your print order on my website. Just recently discovered your channel. Really like those images. I also shoot film. Medium and large format. I tend toward B&W so the black and white one really caught my eye. Look forward to checking out more of your content.

      Thomas Popple thanks for watching. I have a few black and white videos posted and I have some more coming up in the future. Have you tried shooting with Velvia 50 and converting to B&W? It seems to convert really well for me.

    HI can you do a video about how to set the light meter with ND filter

    Hi mate, love your videos. Just wanted to ask about that reciprocity scale you have taped to the back of the camera. Does that change for different films or do you use that for all films?

    • @StephenMilner
      @StephenMilner  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you.
      It does change for different films but not by much. Best to check the data sheets for the film you are using.

    Is photography your profession? Otherwise, what is your occupation and how r u finding time to photograph?

    • @StephenMilner
      @StephenMilner  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for asking. I work in construction as a project manager. I do photography and make these videos on the weekends and on holidays. I will be going full time in 2 years when the project I am working on finishes.

    honest question: why shoot on film if you end up scanning anyway?

    • @StephenMilner
      @StephenMilner  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Each type of film has its own personality. With film I put the film in the camera and the only settings that I need to think about are shutter speed and aperture. It Buy a cheap film camera and spend a week shooting some film. Check out this video th-cam.com/video/7dHGoikBa1E/w-d-xo.html
