I lived in Marlow for my teens and used to travel the Marlow Donkey to M'Head and onto Paddington and beyond. I now live in Henley. So glad you found the gems of the branch lines. Your vlogs are so interesting. Loved the matching socks to the sear décor on the Elizabeth line, and your converse sneakers of course. Keep smiling.
Hi Rory, another interesting video with lots of beautiful scenery. really enjoyable to watch. Many thanks. PS love the Elizabeth line socks ! Great stuff !
The Marlow Donkey was a simple one locomotive / one car train that ran the shuttle between Bourne End and Marlow. The curve outside Bourne End station was very short radius which meant that only a few types of locomotives could be used on it.
Great Western Railway could allow battery-powered Class 230s to operate on the smaller branch lines. Such as the Slough-Windsor & Eton Central, Maidenhead-Bourne End-Marlow and Twyford-Henley-on-Thames lines. As GWR are using the Class 230 battery trains on the West Ealing-Greenford branch line as a trial run.
When you filmed the squirrel in Henley, I believe you were in the graveyard of St Mary The Virgin Church. Just yards away from where you were filming is the final resting place of the late, great singer Dusty Springfield. ❤ Some of her ashes were scattered there, and some at the Cliffs of Moher, Ireland.
Memories, Memories! For a time I lived just beyond Eton and had to pass the wretched college on the way to work in Slough twice a day. Traffic was so bad even in the 1980s that I had to buy a pushbike as it was quicker! When I was was there, Windsor Central was a ghastly Madame Tussaud Royal waxwork tourist ripoff. Now its shops, presumably very expensive aimed at American tourists! Still, Windsor Castle is an incredibly impressive sight from the surrounding area and there were great walks in the area. I later lived in Reading so explored the area round there - never terribly interested in the branch lines, whilst Marlow and Henley are pleasant, they are so wealthy they don't feel real. The rail trip I enjoyed most was to take the mainline from Reading to Oxford alongside the Thames - the scenery was very attractive (as far as Didcot anyway!). In those days the local service was operated by Class 47 diesel locos hauling a long rake of mk1 coaches - presumably well filled with commuters on Mon-Fri but on Saturdays you'd normally have a whole carriage to yourself!
Another excellent video Rory..how do you decide where and when you are going to visit places as it must take a lot of planning and research. All makes for excellent viewing and is a credit to you. As someone who likes to travel around the UK I know how much time planning can take.
Thank you so much for this amazing video! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
Another interesting video Rory very enjoyable cheers
Thanks again for a great video

Is the Greenford branch not included in the ranger?
It is but unfortunately we didn’t have time to do it.
