I think it's going to be a lot more powerful than most people are assuming. They're thinking about a normal step-up between generations, which would usually be 5 years. This will be 8 years, so it's closer to 2 generations. And in fact the Switch 2 will be competing against the PS6 for most of its lifespan. So I think the Switch 2 will be able to run cross-platform games that are on PS5. The Switch 1 can already run cross-platform games that are on PS4, so it has to be better than that or what's the point of releasing a new console? The new dock will definitely have more hardware in it this time. They may even sell the dock separately, so you can buy the tablet alone like a Switch Lite if you don't want to spend extra on 4K 60fps. Maybe it will work with the old dock if you don't want the full upgrade. Because if the new dock has extra processors and a parallel GPU (and maybe even more Nintendo-style new features we don't know about), then the dock will be expensive. Maybe $399 for the Switch 2, $149 for the new dock, and $499 for the bundle which saves you $50 if you buy both.

Did you know the Switch has sold almost as many copies of Zelda games as every other Nintendo console combined? The NES was successful, and the SNES, and they made money on the N64 and Gamecube and Wii and GameBoy and GBA and DS and 3DS, and the Zelda games were considered successful on all those consoles. But the Switch by itself is making more money than all of those consoles put together. Nintendo has made more money in the past 7 years than all the money the company has made since it started 130 years ago. Nintendo has been a successful video game company for 40 years, but they're just getting started. Do you think the Switch 2 will be LESS powerful than the Switch? Do you think Nintendo has been doing nothing for the past 8 years? You're thinking they'll release a Switch 1.5, but they passed on that option 2 years ago. Maybe you think hardware hasn't advanced in 8 years, but it has. The PS5 is old news, and the Switch 2 can do the same things as the PS5 for cheaper.
