Spot on with the transfer/facelift to the e-ride. I'm sporting a West Coast Chopper with an AMP 36v500w rear hub. Did another WCC in to a trike. That one is going with a mid drive hub to the left wheel while keeping the right axle with pedal. In my pick I have a front hub that may or may not stay.
looks slick! clever idea to reuse the guts of your ebike. I'm working on converting one of these right now. Just finished cleaning it up and am starting on electrics :) fun times!
I'm going to put a bafang mid drive kit on mine. I have one on my Schwinn commuter bike and i have had it up to 34mph. I figure i can build something awesome for my kids with this chopper i bought. It wasn't cheap. These bikes are hot right now.
I'm gonna do that to mine. It's the black one with chrome. I'm probably gonna machine the triple tree spacers tho for the front drive (fat tire). I like your rear drive too. Decisions, decisions 😂
Mount the pegs on the front forks for your feet and problem solved about being too big, possibly change the entire front fork out for some mountain bike forks for a bigger bike so you get more leg room and front suspension on the bike
But you should literally look into like some 32 or 30 inch ape hangers for that it might make it more comfortable to ride being that you're 6, 4 like you said
These bikes were a dime a dozen, this platform was a radical remake of the old 60's stingrays that were wildly popular, now they are EXTREMELY collectable if you get one with all the bells and whistles. ( the old ones that is) nice pickup though. You should definitely get those forks redone to be longer and get a smaller front wheel then it would look super good.
I can't help but to think it will be more complete with disk brakes. Maybe you could wield in a disk brake adapter on the frame where the rear tire sits or change the front fork to a disc brake one or both, but that's a lot of work so no pressure.
They have adapters for disc brake conversion. The battery kind of killed the looks. Build battery case to mate with rear fender. But even so, in my point of view needs rear shocks.
Congrats on this fabulous video. Too bad there isn't a frame that is big enough for you to ride it with a bit more comfort. Nice engineering on your part! I have been looking at these Stingrays and if I come across one in decent shape, I want to put a mid-drive motor on it, either a Bafang or a Bosch!
The Stingray is a model name from a bike when I was a kid in the sixties. LOL it didn't look anything like this. The old Stingray had more of a BMX look to it with ape hanger handlebars and a banana seat. They were fairly cheap to buy and they sold a lot of them.
@@DavidBrandNew This is a very specialized bike type of bike. If it doesn't have the brazed hard points for disk brakes there is a fix. Replace the front fork with a suspension fork or steel fork that has the disk screw points. If you're going to the trouble of upgrading the fork might as well go with a suspension fork. This will only give you disk brake on the front but its the most important brake. A disk brake on the rear is extra.
@@DavidBrandNew - There's a couple of good FB groups that deal w/ electric bikes and Razors... LMK if you're interested in checking them out, some of the members are makers and they sell custom parts and batteries and stuff.

That's not the full size occ stingray is it? Cause I have a few gas powered. n am on a 72v 3speed build. But that looks smaller on you or you just a tall guy. I usually modify the seat n push it back with like banna seat style bars hold it up. But that looked more cramped then normal.lol
I just came up with a killer idea To mount a new torque arm when you get your new motor add me on Instagram @keaon4 it’s way better than the stock little ones that Lectric Provides I already had an axle spin out with them

My dream build
Dude, I am going to send this video to Schwin and ask them to make a 24” model. Awesome job !!!!
Yea that would be way more comfortable. Schwinn should release this bike as an ebike.
Dude, you are a trip!!! I love it! Lectric should bring you on board to as Director of Research & Development!!!
That would be a dream
i have a ? for the chopper bike

I see alot o these on sale here in Michigan ranging $100 and up. Nice to see it can be ebike upgradeable.
Yea I bought it for $90
Just a heads up they did make a version of that bicycle for adults it's called the OCC Stingray Schwinn XL
I had mine wrapped in matt black! I bought 6 wcc as a lot at auction! Thinking about a trike conversion next!
That Schwinn Stingray Chopper is immaculate awesome video David
Thanks 👍
I love the chopper look. But sad to see the Lectric stripped for parts.
Leticia will be up and running soon. She’s getting a makeover

I have two of these bicycles, and I really want to do something with one of them the only thing holding me back is the lack of decent brakes...
I have a stingray occ chopper bike and I am thinking of going electric with it
I’m boutta do this and daily drive it, I didn’t think it would be possible till I saw ur vid bro I thought I had the idea of a century.

7 dislikes are people who cant stand ingenuity.
Yo I got a 48v stingray in the process of building a 72v. Check out the veetire speedster if you plans on using the sidewall of that tire
Would you know what’s the rear dropout of this bike?

I have that same model and I'm trying to make mine an e-bike, do you have any tips or advice you can give for me to work on it?

I’m currently in the process of trying to do this. The current brakes work but not the best
Yep only way to add disk brake hard points is a new fork if it doesn't already have them.
Looks like fun! You need some apes for sure though. Maybe a longer seat post. Or old school banana seat and sissy bar!!
Yea I’m working on that 👍🏽

I’ll look into that thanks
I have one of these that was made by schwinn as 36v electric with rear disk
hats off to you great idea but the battery is too close to the seat i wouldnt want to feel the heat off that battery while riding
It doesn’t get hot
Ball up aluminum and scrub that pin hole rust and you'll be amazed any rust on chrome will clean up. I put a 100cc China doll on my Schwinn OC Chopper
Godspeed brother 🙏🏻
Great job! I want to do the same thing!
These are cool bikes to electrify! How's it holding up?
