Hey Garagejunky09 your video worked like a charm! Thank you. One comment for people like myself who don't have a garage and the car is outside all winter, the point of contact at the caliber had seized so I could not squeeze it together until I worked the spring loose with a bit of wd-40. Once I did that and I was able to press it together like you said, I was able to adjust the brake inside the cabin so it held on a slope and didn't drag when it was loose. I hope you have good karma for taking the time to help others. Thanks again
It took me a bit to figure out how to get them touching but got it. Just have to put a socket on the nut to get bracket to move to where it’s touching. Then go back in and pump your brakes to adjust them tight again then recheck your hand brake and adjust by turning the adjustment nut. I was driving for a year without ebrake but thanks to your video it works great now! Thank you!
Excellent video, I was able to adjust my emergency breaks on my 09 Accord following your instructions, and had to go back and re-adjust the right-rear to close the gap on the break cable lever, a key step. Perfect! Thank you
The other video on youtube for this shows the nut under the console better. Otherwise this video covers more...mainly the adjustment. There's a lot more to this than just adjusting a cable. If you use the e-brake a lot (like folks in San Francisco). the shoes may be worn out. In most instances you can get away with just adjusting the cable to compensate for normal wear, but other stuff can happen, and you should really jack up the car and spin the wheels so you know it is set properly and engages at the right point. Otherwise they may not work properly and/or wear out prematurely. A lot of people dont know that when you're parked on an incline your transmission is pretty limited in its ability to hold the car in place. You really should use the parking brake when parked on an incline or risk your car rolling away.
Nice I will try this thanks for posting! I'm wondering about the area where you jacked up the car. Mine (09 EX-L coupe) only has a tow hook there and I dont know if that's solid enough. These cars are tricky to jack up with that independent rear suspension. Mfr jack goes at the crease where the fender meets the underside in front of the wheel well. You can see some tabs there. I'd just be careful with this or you can damage your car and/or get crushed under it. I'd support it at at least 4 solid different points with jack stands. Also chock the front wheels so it wont roll.
You don't have to lift the back wheels to adjust your parking brake. Park your vehicule on a slope and adjust parking brake nut until vehicule doesn't roll back when in neutral.
Sure! The only time the parking brake will not adjust properly is if a caliper pin is seized on either side or the cable snapped. You'll have to free it first or change the affected cable, then adjust your parking brake.
At 2:40 you say the arm should touch the bracket before tightening under the console. Any suggestions if they are not touching? On my drivers side with ebrake disengaged, the arm touches the bracket almost like a spring is forcing it to. I messed something up on the passenger side and it doesn’t touch anymore… and my ebrake only works on my drivers side. :/ any suggestions?
Mine's really Louis to I got an 08 Accord manual transmission I must have to tighten it or something cuz I literally have to pull it all the way up for it to have no movement and actually do its job I would never trust it on a hill I would have put it in first or something
Great video .. I folowed your video nd tried on my 08 accord .. the passenger side rear tire keeps spining .. the driver side rear tire locks up when I pull the hand brake. What am I doing wrong. Could the cable going to the passenger side be broken?
yea pads are good. .changed the 6 months ago. . cable loosen and stretches with the centre console nut... 4 to 5 clicks and one side is tight .. maybe the caliper is seized?
+jmytube loosen up the nut and close the gap between the arm n bracket at the assembly on both side. if it still doesnt spin one. you might wana check your caliper pins. i would check the brake pad on that siezed up wheel. if its uneven wear, that would be a big clue
Garagejunky09 yes. I loosened the nut in the middle and still wouldn’t budge. I also did the others just in case. I just got all 4 brakes and rotors on after running around all week. What a let down.

he's talking about it being hooked into that spot of the back caliper

You definitely understood the assignment and know the way the system works.
Was interested in the video. Unfortunately your camera is in the wrong position to see the lever you say need to be touching!

I am confused.
Me too... I can’t get gap to close on passenger side.
My ebrake doesn't hold my car at all. How do I make sure those parts are touching that you mentioned in the beginning on the video?
Thanks for the video this is very helpful

I wonder if this is why my emergency brake like comes on occasionally. My brake fluid is good and pads are great!
I wish your camera work was better. I can't see what you're doing as you adjust the rear wheel.
Helpful video! 👍Made adjusting the brake a lot easier for me. Thanks!
Nice toes too btw 🫶🦶🏼🦶🏼
Can you show how to remove the parts on the gear seccion i been try to remove but i can't please
Useful video man. Thanks for your time. No one else has done a video exactly to show the ebrake adjustment.
You don't have to lift the back wheels to adjust your parking brake. Park your vehicule on a slope and adjust parking brake nut until vehicule doesn't roll back when in neutral.
Phil straight from hondas manual. would those levers be automatically adjusted?
Sure! The only time the parking brake will not adjust properly is if a caliper pin is seized on either side or the cable snapped. You'll have to free it first or change the affected cable, then adjust your parking brake.
Phil thanks
If it doesn't roll back in neutral? With how many clicks would the lever be up to do it this way
How I didn't see how you take the middle piece off
My passenger rear is locked ! Do I need to adjust the e brake ? The E brake line aren’t seized

My 2012 e brake isn't working. This looks to be an expensive venture or a pain in the ass. Thank you Honda.
If my emergency brake will not release can I loosen that bolt to manually release brake?
just get a real man to pull it up for you
@@AmanSingh-gj2lnyo that’s uncalled for
Good video. I have an '04 and a '14 Accord. Is the procedure the same for these models?
Tim Duzan i would think so? honda usually dont reinvent the wheel.

Center counsel
perfect , god bless you!
can I do this on a 2004 Honda Accord ?
jefry Salgado its pretty much the same, its a little different if you have drums though
I adjusted all 3 bolts one at a time and still couldn’t get it to budge.
the cable?
Garagejunky09 yes. I loosened the nut in the middle and still wouldn’t budge. I also did the others just in case. I just got all 4 brakes and rotors on after running around all week. What a let down.
Garagejunky09 sorry. Under the wheel.
Garagejunky09 could it be because I only had one side jacked ? The rear left tire was still on the ground.
With all respect I can't see anything on your video.the one on the e brake adjustment.
very helpful btw!
Thanks
