I'm a metal head. Love metal!! Always made fun of rappers. My daughter told me to listen to NF. Im not going to lie, I love this guy! Listened to other NF songs. This guy is amazing and an amazing lyricist! He not only raps but sings! And he has an amazing singing voice! Thank you Lord for this man! This is a great song!

I’d like to take a moment to say that you are right. As someone who deals with depression and what not I’ll listen to NF to give myself a voice. A way to say what I can’t on my own.
Yes he is very right sometimes the darkness also becomes the only thing you know so you only ever want to be sad because that's what you know because you are so damaged and scared of happiness

I found nf when my cousin ended his life .... He really did help me heal and made me feel not so alone when listening to his music I really felt everything he was singing and really that's when I realized I wasn't alone

Nf will forever be my favorite artist. This man is doing exactly what he was made to do. Touch the broken hearted and serve them. I just hope he increases his faith because Jesus is the only one he has that will ever heal him. But it’s hard when it’s the only life we’ve ever lived.

I think he is actually going to transition away form this darker style there are actually hints of this in some of his lines in Outro as well as the kind of a theme with this album and the recent paid my dues track that seems the next album is called “Lost” so if we follow this theme I could see a trilogy“The Search” next Album “Lost” there has to be one eventually where he is “Found” and I see him then transitioning into a more clean cut rapper as he starts building a family with his wife. I think we will still get him with his hat and stuff at times but it’s going to feel more like “When I grow Up” where we see him in more normal clothes rapping about his life still but less morbid and dark.

I had depression until literally less than a month ago. It’s just now that I realize how much it twisted my perceptions. I self sabotaged all the time, I pushed people away while at the same time wanting someone to just kick in my walls and bring me out. Even in “happy” moments, I look back, and see that I didn’t know what happy was. That’s why I connect with NF so much, his words, I REALLY get it and understand. I used to write poetry in my darkest moments, I’m actually good at it, but only when I was in those darkest moments. Now, when I look back at it, it doesn’t even seem like me, more like an alter ego that was different than even my normal depression. It makes me scared for NF, because I know the headspace u r in when u write like that. I hope his faith keeps him from....doing something tragic. I almost did, but didn’t only because of my husband and kids. Without them, I wouldn’t be here now. Add in this fame and this pressure on NF? It makes me worried even though I do love his music. I’d love him to get better even more.
I understand you man I ised to write poetry too. This is why when NF said I lost that half of me it really hits deep. O feel scared for NF too he deserves happiness I really wish he can write without putting himself in the line of fire of that gun full od doubts as he said

I was in an awful place mentally when I discovered NF’s ‘Therapy Session’ and ‘Mansion’ albums. I looped it for months and it drove me to get up and push through. It showed me that I’m not alone, I could turn his intensity into my motivation. Awesome review man this song is one of my favs from him.
2nd half of this track is some of his best introspective lyrical work. Hits home for me big time.

He 💯 brings people up. I've dealt with depression for years and just numb but his music brings me to tears and legit turns my days around on bad ones. He's saved lives for sure with some fans

I've dealt with depression and really couldn't put it into words. First CD by NF I had my parents listen to certain songs and i broke them down. They were better able to help me after that.

@@KnoxHill If you're ok with doing an older song, I would check out "real". Super fast flow and the video is (literally) brighter than his others, but still has the cinematic feel to it. Plus some pretty amazing lines when you break it down..."And if God ain't real, real isn't" for example :)
