Being scared to take meds is 100% due to his mom’s addiction to drugs and overdose. Pills for depression can be very addictive. Can’t blame him for being extremely weary.

Bro I feel your pain. I can’t quit either! I’ve been trying for years Mr. Luke. I’m a grown man who takes care of his business, handles my worldly things in life, takes care of my kids, pays my bills,goes to work, keeps everything in my life in somewhat in a functional chaos (my thoughts ) but I’m sure others think it’s dysfunctional. Keep on keeping bro. GOD IS ABOVE US ALL AND IS THERE FOR ALL OF US!
I had to quit drinking a year ago or so. I was heavy on it like a bottle a day. Without going into my personal issues with it too much. I will just say that the highs and lows in my moods were so much more extreme when i drank, i couldn't do it anymore and it took me numerous attempts attempts before i quit for for an extended period of time. Don't get me wrong i have drank a few times since i got out of being physically dependent on it and it was somewhat relaxing to drink a few beers but then the next day i felt usually like shit and then i wanted more and with where my head is at now i can't ever let myself go back down that road and to be honest i don't think my body could handle it again. Lord knows the damage i did to my organs and health back then. Don't give up however you gotta do it. Whether you are physically dependent and scared to stop due to withdrawals or you're out of that and find yourself going back.

One artist i really appreciated when i was trying to quit was Royce 5'9'. He has been rapping for a long time. And quit drinking later in his career. He is a self-admitted alcoholic. I'm pretty sure when he was in his prime of drinking he couldn't picture quitting either. He literally stopped making music for a few years when he quit drinking, he had to focus on himself and getting better and when he got his head right he started making music again.
Chain my soul to the heartbreak was a very underrated line in this song...the depth of that line hit my soul
The trust line is one of the most amazing thought provoking lines ever said it really gets you thinking about your life and yourself 👌🔥🔥at this moment in my life I know plenty that would put me on there list but I wouldn't put myself on my own list 🙈

I've said it B4 I'm 20 years of active addictive and only 14 months clean.ill never trust myself after all the times I talked myself into getting dope. But this is my theme song. At 19 when my life fell apart I ran straight to drugs and stayed numb. I'm supposed to take Xanax and pain meds cause I'm always in pain but I know I can't take them.i can't trust myself with meds Id eat a months script in a few days.. nf gets me in my feels

Yeah I tried those meds once. The first time I took it I was a giggling mess. My keys dropped and I died laughing. Every time after that I felt lifeless. It took away the things that made me me. I tried others but I had to be carried to the nurse one time and another time i vomited blood. There were times I couldn’t do anything but sit there laid back. My whole body felt as if it was vibrating and my mind was gone. I couldn’t take the meds anymore so I quick cold turkey and took a few days in the woods.
