Morning J.W and I hope you are having a nice weeked. As always a awesome group of 1911s.I had the Colt Classic and I change out the plastic main spring housing to a Colt metal one.I also agree with on the model 29 S&W. Its just a beautiful revolver to handle and look at.Thanks for video,Slim.

Thanks for covering this topic, had no idea it would be this week's video! I went back and watched your first video on the classic again. With your enthusiasm for the gun along with Hacathorn and others, I decided to try one out. I happened to catch one at a great price and ordered it. I've had and have many guns but never one with such a rough roll mark. Time will tell if it's a keeper or not. Thanks again for your time, I hope you stay interested in the Collector's Radio Show, we all appreciate it!

Good morning JW !!! I too really like the S&W classic line model 19, and was literally ready to buy it when they announced the blued version of the Colt Python. Still waiting for the blued version of the Colt to show up in Cal gun stores before I make a decision, but it could go either way 🙂

Some fantastic 1911's on the table but there really isn't any bad ones 😂😂 I am a series 70 guy personally. The 29 is an iconic piece nothing else like it everyone who holds one and says the classic line "Do you feel lucky punk well do ya?". Just an incredible series of movies. The Mechanic with Bronson just pure classic he brought such an incredible presence to the screen

Happy weekend all! Has the roll mark technique changed over time and do different companies do it differently? I know bluing has changed due to using not so toxic materials, just wondering what else has changed over time?

Are they actually rollmarks or laser cut ?

They are laser cut from what I've seen.
