From the time Richie got her green card since she is married to a us citizen its 3 years before she can become a us citizen. i recommend that because then there is no nonsense about leaving the country and she will have a much stronger passport.
same here Dustin...i also did the 1-129 f form ...and got my Filipina fiancé ..to the United States. We are in about the same time frame as y'all are ..she also came in October 14th ..got her ss number and was married on November 15th ..just prepared our i-131 and the i-485 and put it in the mail today. The paperwork was gruesome, i pray we did everything right. you are right google and TH-cam was our best friend. The paperwork was like a thick book when finished it ,it was a big load off our shoulders, when we mail it today. the thing we didn't do was report or marriage...i didn't know about that and still haven't. If u have info. on that i would like to hear more about that... but i thought i would share, good luck to you both, I hope all the process goes fast for the both of us
We are about on the same timeline. I didn’t know about the report of marriage either. Social security told me we needed to change her name on her passport before we can change her name on SS card. Did you get SS card with her former name? It depends where you’re from to report the marriage. Here’s the site I used. Report of marriage form - (from Michigan) www.chicagopcg.com/ Philippine Consulate General. You can see if this is the one you need or you can find the one near you. Good luck!
@@DustinBackpacks yes the first thing we did was went to the Social Security office when she got here, I thought we had to have a ss before we got married, but it's not true. But she got one with her former name and said we can come back and change her last name to mine once she had a green card. i checked the link u sent me but my state was not on the list ..we are in South Carolina..thanks for the advice and GOOD LUCK TO YALL TOO
Thanks good luck to you as well! Here is the link for South Carolina if you are interested. philippineembassy-dc.org/report-of-marriage-application-by-mail/
it took me and my husband about two years with an expensive lawyer, you must be a very organized person I don’t think i could have done it without the lawyer. But not to worry with your determination and organizational skills you will definitely do it! Good luck to you guys
on the 6 month requirement you can fly from Philippines to Guam, since it is a US territory they will stamp your passport. Had my wife do that while we were in Saudi. That used to fill the requirement of returning to the US.
Its really more better if richie can stay in usa permanently& to have a greencard. Either she can be a plain wife or can find a job it will be helpful. Stay blessed from ireland.
The moment she get her green card do not go home to the Philippines if you stay longer you have to apply for an exit visa just to get back and the number of months you took you have to replace and follow the amount of days that you reside in America its better to stay three years and apply for her naturalization it will be better and she can also apply for a dual citizen home sick is there but with video conferences is a norm now think before and wasting money do not go home with just a green card wait until you get your naturalization and start learning the citizenship exam and interview three years will come soon
32 years ago when I came here in the USA on fiance visa it was easier...and even the getting of green card was easy...of course it's all by mail and in person. Imagine doing everything without the INTERNET...can you believe how we did it back then? Hope everything will be easy for you guys too. Just don't forget your wedding day...my husband failed to answer the correct wedding day twice....he basically went thru the calendar 🙂...I thought I was going to get deported because he forgot the date. 32 years later I still quiz him when did we get married. It was also cheaper back then.

How long did you need to stay in Guam for? Were they strict about staying outside of USA for longer than 5 months?
