How to Create a Futuristic Eye in Photoshop
Start by making a new square document. This is very important for the next step! Create any lines or patterns that you would like, keeping in mind that they will soon be spun into a circle. Go to Filter - Distort - Polar Coordinates. Select “Rectangular to Polar” if you want a circle effect. These will be layered over the eye later, so play with different geometric shapes and placements!
For another layer of graphics, we found some cool pictures that resemble sound waves. You can apply the same Polar Coordinate Effect to these images as well! Drag them right onto the image and place them around the eye.
Blending Mode Tips:
If you want only the darks to show up from an image, use the Multiply blend mode.
If you want only the lights to show up from an image, use the Screen blend mode.
Soft light will help graphics blend in to your eye a little better.
Double click on a layer to bring up the Layer Style Dialogue. Select outer glow and make sure the blending mode is on “screen,” Feel free to bring the size and the opacity up, and change the color if you’d like. This will, as the name suggests, give your layer a nice outer glow.

You have no clue how awesome you are for making all of these tutorials. It's very hard to find tutorials or any sort of learning material out there that isn't incredibly boring or overly obnoxious. You manage to add that relatable human aspect to the videos, that others don't have.
You explain what might go wrong, and how to fix it, instead of just blurting out a wad of information that might confuse less experienced users. It really takes something to end up with something so well put-together and I think we can all appreciate it.
So, even if these videos aren't getting millions of views, I just wanted to say that everyone at Phlearn is amazing for providing free lessons on par with some of the best professional stuff out there.

Aaron, you ROCK man!!. I'm in the process of starting up a small graphic t-shirt biz and the effects and skill set you bring to theses videos are priceless!! You have no idea what type of inspiration you bring to creative minds. Keep the videos coming! I did have an idea for a tutorial I would love to see from you. I'm looking for something that almost resembles a "futuristic, dreamy, zen outdoor feel" to it. Like someone lost in some type of misty, foggy woods. Maybe even incorporating a large music festival with lights, lazers, and hypnotic type feeling to it. I know you can pull this off, I've watched so many of your videos and have no doubt that whatever you come up with would give myself and others some great effects and inspiration to pull from.
Love the futuristic eye you did here, using that "polar Coordinates" effect is so freaking cool. It just sent my mind into overload. I will definitely be using this effect in some of my upcoming designs to have screen-printed. Keep up the amazing work!!!

This was the first time using Photoshop ever and i enjoyed watching your tutorial it was my first attempt at doing anything like that the results were surprisingly good thanks
Hey Aaron, I really love your guides on how to use Photoshop. I know you have already done an episode on dodging in burning a portrait, but could you do one about using this technique for landscape photos?I don't know if it is used for such types of shots as I've just started doing more and more in PS but I think it would be very interesting to see, especially because there are pretty much no other tutorials on youtube.
