In this eye retouching tutorial, we will use the power of Curves, Masks, Blend Modes, and Blend-If, we will learn a very simple but highly effective way to bring life to the eyes in Photoshop. Wow! This was a long, and difficult process for enhancing the eyes. I watched, then rewatched, and backed up numerous times to be sure I was doing exactly the same things. After 90 minutes on my project, while zoomed in so close, I felt it was turning into a real mess, however after slight adjustments in the curves layer, and tweaking the catchlights, and then zooming out, the image turned from very nice to AMAZING. Thank you for posting this tutorial, on "Amazing Details in the Eyes". A great tool for enhancing eyes in the PS tool box.

PLUS even though I've been in Photoshop for like 6 years now I never really fully understood what exactly is happening with each blending mode and I don't really find many people who explain it well, but that was probably the best explanation I ever found of any blending mode technical side. Really good video.

Excellent ! You are superb teacher ! What an important thing I like about your tutorials is that while you are on a particular topic, you never ignore the minute things , like checking the Aligned box, what it means etc. This way we not only learn the main topic but also many a times accidentally we come to know some interesting hidden things of Photoshop. I may sound a bit too ignorant about Photoshop, although I am not so, but we must not forget that many times we actually may slip off the basics, so even Sachin too needed to practice with Tennis Balls before going to England / Australia to play in bouncy pitches. Loved how you unlocked the secret of getting vibrantly textured eyes with such a simple curves adj layer. But the highlight was how you taught us to duplicate the effect to the other eye.
But....still, the best part of the video is how you simplified the concept behind the Lighten blend mode...ive been watching multiple videos and taking notes on how they work but no one explained it as simply as you did. Lighten - If you can lighten it ..Paint ..and if you cannot..Dont!
