Saint's Row 4 was great. Yes, the 80s nostalgia-bait was shameless, but it was done so well I loved it. The parody of Bioware-style 'romances' was perfect.
I have a feeling everyone is going to disagree with Saints Row 4 being on this list. It's a fun game, certainly not terrible. And you could create a list of just weapons from the series. I was particularly fond of the Dubstep Gun. Weak at first, if you invested in the upgrades, it was quite potent.
While not the best in the series by a long shot, I still kind of enjoyed GOOH. It kind of reached peak absurdity when they broke out into song in a cutscene though...
@@jamesallan5914 I feel that was the point of 4/GOOH though. One of my favorite super homie missions in 4 was Pierce because of the karaoke in the car.
I'll go you one further... How dare they mention Saints Row IV at all... Yes, it went off the rails, but was well done and fun to play... And yes, the Dubstep gun, especially fully upgraded, is hours of broken fun, including the Christmas DLC variant.
Another one here who liked Saints Row 4. Completely agree it was a little bit of a disappointment coming after the absolutely masterful Saints Row 3, but that didn't mean it wasn't a fun game in its own right.
Fun fact about Duke Nukem Forever: Very few players got the achievement for carrying the Golden Desert Eagle to the end of the game, with less than 3% of players getting it. Which, honestly, is a mystery to me and suggests a lot of players hate themselves, because the GD.Eagle is easily one of the better weapons of the game. The alien weapons suck, the shotgun is weak, the Ripper is somewhat inaccurate even if it is occasionally handy, the Devastator only occasionally pops up, and the rail gun is slow and somewhat limited in use (if also kinda helpful unlike the other guns). If you've struggled with DNF or plan on picking it up, keep the GD.Eagle with you. It may not be much, but it's accurate and does okay damage. If you drop it, you're doomed to live with crappy weapons 80% of the time. The weapon selection in the game is insanely weak, don't make it harder for yourself by making this easy mistake.
I'll never trust the opinion of anyone who claims Saints Row 4 AND Duke Nukem Forever are terrible games... Were they groundbreaking? No.. But they were dumb fun and no more serious than any other games in either series. I know gate keepers n critics like pretend being dumb fun is some sort crime against video games but even Mario games are dumb fun... Cuz fun is the point since it's a GAME 🤦🏼♂ n before someone says "but the humor was dumb n childish" that's how every game in both series is so if you're not a fan of childish jokes why are you playing any game in either series?
saints row 3 was the blandest of the saints row games.... like all of the "story missions" in the third game were just introducing repetitive side activities. like i didn't play the second one beyond running around with cheats on and going on rampages around the city until that got boring.... but i remember it having lots of unique story missions that weren't just doing some of the side activities... and i played through most of the 4th one... and it had a lot of really interesting story missions that paid homage to gaming history. like maybe the 3rd has some good stuff... but i watched my partner play the 2nd one and we tried to get into the 3rd... and i'm sure they got a lot further than i did... but i don't remember any of the story missions they did being anything other than a collection of side activities with some extra dialog to string them together. and having revisited saints row 4 on xbox one a few times..... i've come to accept that the side activities are barely playable garbage.... like the only good one is the insurance fraud one... and it's really only good because the super powers make it actually doable and more ridiculous rag doll action... because the insurance fraud in the previous games was one of the worst and tedious activities. so a viable version of it felt really amazing in comparison to how much it had always sucked ass before. i also really liked the Gat outta hell stand alone dlc.... it was a lot of fun and short enough that it didn't overstay it's welcome... though i doubt that i'd really want to revisit it again... 'cause it also relies on side activities to progress the plot... and i'm not sure that the musical numbers can overcome that...

Wait I just realized the people who enjoyed Saints Row 4 think the reboot was bad. They're damn near on the same levels of fun in terms of gameplay and the Map in the reboot shits on Steelport easily. Someone explain what was so bad about the gameplay that 4 did that much better.
You mean besides the game breaking bugs that still haven't been fixed, lack of decent game play and lack of a partially decent story while also forcing some political ideology that gamers don't give two figs about down said gamers throat, yea I can't see anything wrong with the "reboot" fan-fic
@@vexile1239 To start can you elaborate on the game breaking bugs you’ve experienced because day one I’ve only had a few trophy tracking bugs that were patched out. Second the gameplay is damn near the same as the third with better driving and car controls. Finally can you literally name me 1 single crime open world game that didn’t involve political views? Can you specify which point does the game somehow force political views on you in any way that other open world crime games don’t?
If your referring to the Duke Nukem one (since she says its apparently very common in FPS games?). But in Duke, it shrinks normal enemies so u can stomp on them. Pretty fun in the OG games
Yes the shrink rate could take out some powerful characters. but you also got to figure at the time there really wasn't the the 3B huge bosses and games. you know the ones bigger better badder three health bar etc. oh that would be kind of a cool mechanic. allow usage of these OP weapons but only allow them for like say one round of the boss match. that way you could mix and match some really wicked OP weapons.
9. its cool, but quite annoy for you to kill them by going to them and kick them toy size. 7. cool weapon, but i disagree on perfect dark zero - it's a good game - story wise but control scheme needs more polishing, but it's secondary fire and tertiary mode function are great. 4. the only last good mortal kombat game.
So they don't get censored in Germany would be my guess. You see, the wider an audience you can get, the more likes and views you will receive, which translates to more money.
not going to lie i really enjoyed that south park n64 title me and my friends spent outs shooting each other with the cow launcher and that brain wash probe gun

Flanders flying homing bibles were pretty lethal too, and he could resurrect himself iirc. Sucks beating him but once you have him unlocked the game is a cakewalk.
I got a game called Tiny and Big for literally a penny on steam. It's not perfect, but the music is amazing, and the central concept of getting places using only a laser that chops things in half, a rocket that you can connect to anything, and a tether is a trip. I'd love to see them in a longer, more well made title
Eh saints row 4 wasn't that bad of a game especially when compared to that dogshit reboot. Also perfect dark zero wasn't that bad either liked that game. Eh I don't remember mk4 being that bad either
It's not that it's terrible, it's just lackluster. The vehicles are made useless by the powers and the weapons are boring in comparison. The plot of the game is forgettable and the entire thing feels like it's trying to be an online PvP game but in a single player format. Honestly its DLC epilogue "Gat out of Hell" is a better stand alone despite being shorter because it addresses these problems and makes the overall experience more balanced.
Saints Row 4 is a good game, of course is silly and stupid and very easy after you become the Super President, but thats not a reason to be called bad. most Mario Games are really easy and they are aclaimed among the alltime best. Seeing how many sticky bombs you could stick to a single person at once was fun, too. My record was 17 in SR2, then I got run over.
