I was looking forward to checking out concord until the price point was revealed. It had a fabulous style and incredible look, but i really don't like paying full price for games anymore. I want to support the gaming industry but😢 it is killing itself with trend chasing and self inflicted wounds like shutting down talented studios and laying off developers. This console generation has so much potential yet I'm filling my library with classics and the occasional new release.
Yeah the price tag for the genre was a bit too much to bite off; and you're right - sadly the developers are the ones to cop the grunt of it. It's also crazy just the sheer volume of games coming out from both indie and big name studios is a tad difficult to keep up with. I saw the games from The Game Awards, and hadn't heard of let alone played a vast majority.
I don't think it's so bad it belongs on this list. The issue is more that Bioware has gone from the kings of RPGs to making flops like Anthem and Mass Effect: Andromeda in the last decade. Their death has been long and drawn out.
Great list. I played all of these except Concord. However, i woudl have put Funko Fusion at the top. I think it's the worse game I've ever played in my life since I started gaming in the 1970s. Skull and Bones and Suicide Squad were horrible but there were elements of gameplay that were fun for a while......there is nothing, and I mean nothing enjoyable about Funko Fusion. Then top it off with the most bug ridden release I've ever seen, and it takes the prize. I even put it aside for over 2 months and tried it again after patches. Every single level was locked, including the ones I already beat. It was completely unplayable, and they didn't fix it for almost 2 weeks. It's a failure on every possible level, and I can guarantee it was never QA'd.
The ordering was honestly the hardest part about this video for me - on one hand you have games like Funko Fusion that are downright awful and on the other hand you have games like Concord, Suicide Squad and Skull and Bones that cost their studios $100's of millions of dollars. Of all of them though, I remember seeing the first trailer for Funko Fusion and it being a low-frame, low-res mess and immediately pushed it to the side.
@@XhiaGaming Great point. I don't know what it is about Funko, I am strangely fascinated with it by how bad it is. Even after patches, I tried to play it again recently and was locked out of every level including ones I beat. It took them almost 2 weeks to fix it. Completely baffling. Take care!
So for the year 2024 we learned forced political views and live service games unless free to play are a no sell and doomed to fail so how much you want to bet even though gamers have made this point very much obvious development companies won't stop doing it also forced digital doesn't sell well either as Alan wake 2 and black myth wukong started as digital but both eventually fell back and made physical copies black myth wukong faster than Alan wake 2 and Alan wake 2 suffered in sales and didn't even make the profits back until they did release physical gotta wonder if forced digital and live service games are this bad of sellers why are they being forced and why are we being told the complete opposite it's almost like the media lies and there just trying to get fast money with as little effort oh but what do I know I'm just one of the customers who pay for their product and is a part of what could determine if they go bankrupt and never make a game ever again 😂
You make solid points! Forced digital and live-service games are a hard sell for many gamers, yet developers keep pushing them. I'm a big fan of physical copies-they’re great for preservation and resale, which is why I'm waiting for Wukong's physical release. Exclusivity is another issue-Hellblade 2, while a solid game, reportedly struggled in sales because of it. It feels like some studios prioritize quick profits over long-term success. Hopefully, they start listening to feedback soon.
@XhiaGaming I'm fine with digital and live service games but when there not free it feels like you are paying to essentially be a bata tester there's a reason gamers play them more when there free to play vs paying $60-$70 on something they know will be practically unplayable at launch digital and live service games have become a developers way of taking a lazy approach to the process of making the game less work and fixing later via patches and updates it's basically there way of saying give us money for doing the bare minimum like why should we support that 🤷
@XhiaGaming also no one likes politics and narratives being pushed in games most people play games to escape reality regardless of what political side your on doesn't matter by forcing one side or the other you essentially alienate half your core player base so it just shouldn't be in games at all no matter what side it is I'm far right and I would be upset if my views were being pushed because like I said it just has no business being in something we use to escape all that 🤷
I don't know if I'm just getting old or what, but I literally never heard of any of these games (except Concord) until they failed.
Don't take it personally; it's honestly hard to keep up with the rate at which games come out. So it's not surprising you hadn't heard of them.
Concord never stood a chance, it just straight up wasn’t good.
Yeah, too many things going against it sadly
40$ for it was just absurd
Concord should be the first since it’s probably the biggest fail in media history
Yeah, maybe so - it's hard to rank because it was also a new IP. I was a little more forgiving to it than the likes of Suicide Squad.

How is Veilguard not on this list? It was so bad it killed Dragon Age and quite possibly might of also doomed Bioware

Bioware killed itself with shit games
Suicide squad and funko fusion are not as bad as fucking crime boss rockay city
Whilst that may be true; that game came out in 2023 haha
@ oh my bad I just didn’t hear anything of it in 2023 so I thought it came out this year 😂
It was just that bad haha
