What about the Plasma Cutter in Dead Space? It's surprisingly efficient to handle just about everything if you pour resources into it, even on hardcore mode.
I didn't even buy any other weapons in that game, I just sold the ammo for them to buy the resources I needed to upgrade the plasma cutter, keep it loaded and max out my health and stasis levels.
Always the plasma cutter in dead space, the two swords you start with in neir automata and on my first play through the hunters axe and throughout my entire time playing the game the hunters pistol I know that there are other weapons that are better than the axe but I did get through the whole first play through with that weapon but the hunters pistol is still the only off hand weapon I still use
My first time playing Dead Space (okay, my first and _only_ time playing Dead Space...) I didn't even buy any of the other weapons; I'd just collect the scattered ammo for them, sell it and use the money to buy plasma charges for the cutter and nodes for upgrades. I would occasionally get the odd healing item if I needed it, but the plasma cutter was so damn effective that the only time I ever took damage was when the necros gang rushed me and I couldn't shoot fast enough or they snuck around behind me and I didn't notice, but those times were rare and few between enough that I could just tank the hits and heal up later.

I thought the Punisher from RE4 would be here. It's not the starting weapon, but you get it pretty early and it's free. Even though later handguns are stronger, the multiple target ability is great during mobs or against shield bearing enemies.
The silenced pistol in Wolfenstein: The New Order (not technically a starting weapon, but it is found half-way through the very first level of the game). 100% accurate at any range, silently one-shots nearly every non-mechanical enemy in the game.
I know it's probably not going to be on here, but Virtuous Treaty from NeiR Automata. Especially when you start upgrading it, there aren't a ton of small swords better than it. Upgrade it fully, and every hit can bring health back
My suggestion for another one of these would be weak looking enemies that owned you. For example I just finished playing blood stained ritual of the night. There is this extremely weak-looking secret enemy on the train that shows up after you sit down in a chair for a few minutes looking out the window and that thing just kills me within seconds every time.

Top 10 powerful NPC characters who do not join your party or are enemies. That kind of applies to pen & paper role-playing games at times back when I was young. I was a player in a science fiction game. Our first mission was alien invasion, one we had to survive long enough to find a way to escape the planet. I was an engineer. Our plan was to sneak about and find a way to the armory. I modified a frame suit to carry the mini-reactor (low regular production of energy), a high-capacity battery, a durasteel chainsaw, and a mining laser. Do you know what I used for all 4 years of gameplay while everyone else "upgraded" their weapons? My original weaponized tools... tweaked a little to be more compact but I only used those while everyone else did less damage on average than I did with their weapons compared to my tools. I think all video games should add little nuggets like that. You know, making the constant upgrading of weapons and gear not a primary game focus... just the rest of the gameplay itself. I find the subject of your video here really refreshing.
Bulbasaur was the first starter Pokémon I chose back in Pokémon Red (to be honest, Bulbasaur is the only dual type starter right from the get go so I'm kinda glad I did)! Still, it's hard to say which starter is my favorite!
Castlevania SOTN had a great setup, giving you Alucard's equipment for the first bit as a taster and then taking everything away only a short bit into the game.
@@TyphinHoofbun Oh yeah I love that trick, the Lapis Lazuli skip. I've always used SOTN as a prime example of one of the most iconic video games in history. They did something that cannot be replicated in the exact fashion due to secrets being shared on the internet. Having a "hidden" second half of the game was an incredible move in game development, it was one of those rumors that you hear your friends talk about when you played street hockey but this time it was true.
Great thumbnail. Love the Silverballer .45s from Hitman. Some of the best fun I had was a Hitman 2 playthrough using nothing but costumes and the Silverballers when you got them.
The Dispersion Pistol from the original Unreal. Although it starts out weak it's got infinite ammo and can be upgraded into a totally OP hand cannon (but stil with infinite ammo)
It is ridiculous when upgraded, especially if you have the 'Damage Amplifier' item, which you will always have as you can turn it on and off whenever you like, so can easily preserve it. With the Damage Amplifier on you can one-shot the bosses with your Dispersion Pistol, like the Stone Titans. They did nerf this in the 'Return to Na Pali' expansion/mission pack though.
Alucard's sword from Castlevania Symphony of the Night. Start the game with a weapon that minced enemies, only to get Metroided a few minutes into the game. Unless you use a fun glitch that lets you keep em, netting you a ridiculously easy start to the game.
That Halo Magnum like a Space Marine "Heavy Bolter" or "Melta Gun"??? Btw love the WH 40k slip in when you can Jules .... more peps have to get into this IP ... is waaaaaay better than Star Wars!
I would like to point out that the Smart Pistol was nerfed when TF came out. The Beta version of the Smart Pistol was a literal OP cheat gun. On the Beta, you could have Silencer and Enhanced tracking/locking at the same time. When TF came out you had to pick which option you wanted from either of the two.
Dark arts from isaac (tainted judas's starting item) Its an active item that makes you temporeraly invincible, but also if you walk over an enemy or a progectile you will slash Them once the Invincibility ends. But the thing that makes this item overpowerd is the fact that for everything you slash, you get a temporary damage upgrade. I've seen TH-cam videos of final bosses being defeted with only this item.
The original Ratchet & Clank has both the Wrench and the Bomb Glove. And Ratchet & Clank 2 has the Gravity Bomb (which upgrades into the Mini Nuke). And you still have the Wrench, which upgrades itself several times.

I'm talking Phantom from Devil May Cry, that giant mech from Neir:Automatapotatopotahto, some third boss I can't think of. Basically, they're the first boss you will (try) to fight, but feels like they should be the last boss of the game!
The drill was great both as a main weapon of Delta's as well as a backup when your more favored weapon ran out of ammo. But damn was it viscerally fun to use regardless and maintained it's power regardless. Mudkip was great in 3rd gen, as the second evo gets ground, meaning by the time you get to the third gym you're functionally immune to what he can throw at you. Froakie leading to Greninja is another great one as it has an incredibly varied set of moves at it's disposal, meaning you can fight damn near any type the game throws at you. I feel like a future Hitman needs a redesign for exactly that reason. Absolution makes an odd kind of sense when you look at how identifiable he is.
9M pistol fallout NV for some reason the 9m is insanely op and i end up using throughout most of the game for close up and mid range battles and the ammo is vary cheap and common
Top (however many) popular game series with a poor first game. Good suggestions I'd have for this series would be: • Sniper Elite • Counter Strike • Dynasty Warriors • Red Dead (started on ps2 with revolver)

Top 10 games that changed the industry forever! Also, I always appreciate your words of self love at the end brotha. Need more of that!

Why is that so friggin funny to me? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bulbasaur was the first starter Pokémon I chose back in Pokémon Red (to be honest, Bulbasaur is the only dual type starter right from the get go so I'm kinda glad I did)! Still, it's hard to say which starter is my favorite!
There were no dual types in the original red and blue
Top 10 starter weapons/items that were needed for end-game content/quests (like the ring in Borderlands 2)
There's one sword in Castlevania portrait of ruin that if you sell it you cannot have the poison sword.
I love the Buckfast reference Jules, good job, sir
Top ten games where you would rather play as the sidekick/partner than the main character
Castlevania SOTN had a great setup, giving you Alucard's equipment for the first bit as a taster and then taking everything away only a short bit into the game.
Especially if you manage to skip Death stealing it all. While not THE most powerful weapons, it's damn close.

All hail Slime Jesus! Only you and Jazz can defeat Beelzablob! 10 revolutionary games nobody talks about anymore.
Always delighted to hear your wholesome outros
The Dispersion Pistol from the original Unreal. Although it starts out weak it's got infinite ammo and can be upgraded into a totally OP hand cannon (but stil with infinite ammo)
It is ridiculous when upgraded, especially if you have the 'Damage Amplifier' item, which you will always have as you can turn it on and off whenever you like, so can easily preserve it. With the Damage Amplifier on you can one-shot the bosses with your Dispersion Pistol, like the Stone Titans. They did nerf this in the 'Return to Na Pali' expansion/mission pack though.
Top Ten Bosses Jules can defeat if he was magically sucked into a video game.
(I can only do so many suggestions before I go back to work).
Alucard's sword from Castlevania Symphony of the Night. Start the game with a weapon that minced enemies, only to get Metroided a few minutes into the game. Unless you use a fun glitch that lets you keep em, netting you a ridiculously easy start to the game.
The deus ex pistol after being upgraded can be really good. There is largely no reason to upgrade anything else.
The best video game sidekicks that always have your back
Two suggestions:
1) 10 Video Game Mechanics So Fun You Ignored The Main Game
2) 10 Most Replayable Levels in Video Games
I don't know how the smart pistol in titanfall 2 is a starter weapon, lol i got it in the end of the game XD
not having to see Jules' face or hear him screaming about mothers
Dark arts from isaac (tainted judas's starting item)
Its an active item that makes you temporeraly invincible, but also if you walk over an enemy or a progectile you will slash Them once the Invincibility ends.
Top Ten educational games, that are actually fun.
05:52 - 08:00: Does anyone know where I can get that MOD of Pokemon Red?
I think that's just played on a GBC.
@@GabePuratekuta From what I've looked up, it might be a MOD; specifically a Pokémon Generation I game with Generation II sprites and aesthetics. Dunno the name though. Bummer...
@@dylanogg347 In that case, it might be more accurate to say "rom hack" instead of "mod".
@@GabePuratekuta Fair enough.
this vid cheered me up thanks jules and team :)

When ellie tries to play guitar after losing her finger. Realizing what she lost on a path to revenge.
She lost because she released abby like a dummy.
@@fjparasite1172 they both let go of their pointless hate. Both did wrong things and as much as i hated to see joel die he reaped what he sowed. There was no happy ending for anyone. Thats why i loved it.
@@pedroburgos3330 i meant from the cross. Not psychologically speaking.
This may sound horrible, but it always makes me think about Mike cutting off his fingers in Until Dawn after falling for the most obvious trap in the world.
Top 10 games where you really had no idea what was going on
Nomura from Kingdom hearts has entered the chat
Death Stranding.
the head developer HIMSELF, Hideo Kojima, admitted that HE can't follow the story!
Here's a list for you, you magnificent egg. Top 10 or 8 first boss fights that made you rage quit.
No Soulsbournes, those are intentionally hard. I'm talking Phantom from Devil May Cry, that giant mech from Neir:Automatapotatopotahto, some third boss I can't think of. Basically, they're the first boss you will (try) to fight, but feels like they should be the last boss of the game!
Top moments where you regret a dialogue option so much you had to restart your last save that was 3 hours ago, or use your auto save if you have one
I’m so intrigued in all the paints you have in the background
I appreciate that someone remembered that Stonekeep existed.

I think, "I died as I lived: covered in ants!" has got to be somewhere on that list.
Dead Space - Plasma Cutter
All weapons maxed out, this one still tops everything.
Bloodborne - Saw Cleaver
Ditto. Highest DPS/stamina balance.
Top (however many) popular game series with a poor first game.
Good suggestions I'd have for this series would be:
• Sniper Elite
• Counter Strike
• Dynasty Warriors
• Red Dead (started on ps2 with revolver)
Here's another point to SRIV's heavy pistol: A skin that you can make it look like Han Solo's blaster. Also, you have to unlock unlimited ammo which takes a bit of grinding.
