Saffron Muse not the same for everyone, I panicked and my mind jumbled up the man who touched my chest outside a grocery store on my way to school. As soon as I stepped into my high school building I told the school safety officers (who wear the nypd uniform), and they immediately called in other officers and took me on a van to do the canvas with them. There were guys outside that were with him but I suddenly couldn’t remember which one it had been. I said I wasn’t sure, because I didn’t want to get the wrong person in trouble (ALTHOUGH they had been right there when it happened and I heard some of them laugh). So yeah, not everyone will remember every detail, some WILL forget. This was all in less than 30 minutes

yeah that certianly is incriminating however the other evidence was destroyed. The fact that there is a single drop of blood is sus. Like no other dna of his was there besides a drop of blood which easily could have been placed. And its weird how the mom saw the man but couldnt distinguish him. The mom sounds sus as hell.

@@OmegaLoL7 You're right that it's not an abundance of evidence, but think of the confluence of coincidences it would have taken to get his blood there. The picture in the video showed that the blood was still bright red, meaning it was not only dropped recently but also drawn recently.
If the theory is that the real attacker placed the blood there, we're talking an attacker that had a sealed vial of Justin's freshly drawn blood, was caught in the act, then filled a medicine dropper and dripped exactly one drop of blood on the ground as he was escaping.
The theory that the police placed it there doesn't fit, since there was no initial DNA match for the blood, meaning Justin wasn't a past offender and the police wouldn't have had a vial of his blood on file. That only leaves the possibility of an officer or investigator who knew Justin personally, had a vendetta against him, had access to the crime scene, drew blood from Justin recently without him noticing, then placed it at the scene without an honest cop noticing. Impossible, no, but pretty damn improbable.

July 25, 2018, Justin Hansen was sentenced to 18 years in prison, followed by 2 years of probation. I can't stand when there is so much evidence, like DNA, witnesses statements, the victim giving a freaking name, and he/she STILL refuses to step up and take responsibility for his/her actions. Justin did apologize to Brittani for "what she went through", but still maintains that he is 100% innocent. Not only did he not own up, but his lawyer had the nerve to ask for a suspended sentence and to say, "Will putting Justin in jail do any good? It’s not going to bring back her eyesight or her appearance; it’s not going to make her trust the world again, but it will change the life of his children forever." Seriously?!? He should've thought about that before attacking a 17 year old with a shovel... She could've died and her life is changed for forever now. No, it won't bring back her eyesight, or change what happened that day, but she DESERVES justice. I couldn't believe the lawyer even said something so stupid. Does that mean we should let murderers off if they have kids? Because, putting the murderer in jail won't bring back the victim or change anything either?! Obviously, if you break the law, especially when it's a violent crime (like almost beating a teenage girl to death with a shovel), then YES, the offender SHOULD go to jail, kids or no kids. Absolutely one of the most ridiculous arguments I've ever heard a lawyer make. Glad Brittani FINALLY got some justice and can start putting this behind her. At least for the next 18 years, if he even serves his whole sentence. I would be terrified of the day he gets out.

@FRANCO PEREZ actually another news video says that they didn't want to risk a jury deciding on less time, and were satisfied with the results of 18 years. So they accepted a no-contest plea.
In addition to that, he was convicted of battery as a juvenile, and accused of sexual assault, and rape, by three separate people besides this case.
And his blood was found on the scene. And she remembered his name.
She gave a name before they reconstructed the image from the DNA which looked like him, and then his blood was confirmed on the scene.
The evidence is obvious and pretty hard to argue with.

bel pet What do you mean. They had the most important piece of evidence. His DNA! That is all they needed. Find who matches that, you find the person who committed the crime! They did that!
I’m not sure what you Don’t think is adding up?! The ONLY THING THAT does Not make sense is why the person that attacked her is not behind bars for the rest of his life!!!
So what if he has a family, he should have thought about THAT before he tried to MURDER HER WITH A SHOVEL!!
It is just for the grace of GOD And this girls strong WILL that she Is still with us today!
No one knows the extent of the problems she has today, or the pain, and degree of mental anguish she will have to live with for the Rest of her life!! She received a life sentence, he wants to get less than that?!!
      THAT IS NOT JUSTICE!!
I was in a Car accident when I was 18, a Drunk driver ran a red light and hit and almost killed me!
I however received a broken neck, 2 broken ribs, a broken jaw, a bruised brain, lacerations to my skull, forehead, and ear, and I was in a coma! The Doctors didn’t even call my family because it was October 17, and I had turned 18 on September 9? How pathetic is that! Even thought I was driving a vehicle that was registered to my Dad and was wrote off! Since I had now been in a coma for 2 days my roommates called my mom and told her I hadn’t been home, or called into work?
That was 39 years ago and I still live with chronic pain today.
So these people that do these crimes, have no idea how they affect the lives, of those people , they ruin in the process, for years and years after.
No amount of punishment could EVER make up for the Choices they made on that Day!!!!!

A Mother raising 6 children alone no Father or any man in the house. Easy target could he have thought?
Any wonder he was crying when saying he didn't want to leave his daughters without him to protect them?

I will never understand why the punishment for attempt of murder is less than murder. So if a perpetrator is incompetent as well as evil they get 5 years but if they are just evil its the death penalty. As far as I'm concerned you're more of a threat to society if you are both evil and incompetent, it should be a second charge. I can't think of a man more deserving of the death penalty than this monster who without provocation wanted to rape and kill a girl with a shovel then the mother, without question this man has killed before and will kill again. If you read Dr. Stones scale of evil this man would rate at number 15 the worst possible rating 'Cold-Blooded Spree' if he wasn't incompetent.

Thank goodness that Brittani loves and enjoys her mother's company so much. that she set up a luncheon date with her that day - unusual for a 17 year old girl - and tells me a lot about her personality. If her mother had not come home when she did - this would have been a very different story.
This monster robbed Brittani of her high school graduation with all her friends, her goal to be a reporter. and so many of her youthful years healing and recovering - but do hope the rest of her life is filled with only good things. She has an awesome family and an amazing mother - and that is everything.

This doesn't make sense. The mother saw the attacker. Heard him speak. Did she i.d. him? Something tells me no, or they would have said it. And there should have been and probably was a lot of DNA on the knife and shovel. Why did his mother say it wasn't his? How does she know that if it was destroyed? Was she just protecting him or is there a reason? I'm not saying he's innocent. The blood is serious evidence, but there is A LOT missing from this story.

Or, 'would another man hitting him on the head with a shovel be an equal crime and count as payback? No! Neither is fitting! Brittani suffered for ten years after getting hit. So I say multiple strikes to the head with a #6 coal shovel by a man twice his size followed by at least twenty years in prison. Not some easy country club, ping-pong, air-conditioned prison either. I think he had some sick obsession with her, and was following her without her knowledge. If her mother hadn't came home, would that have been his ultimate goal and what he really wanted? Yet had an obsession with hurting her as well (maybe feeling turned down). Anyway, the investigators wondered the motivation for the crime, I think he pretty much told them without him or investigators realizing it.

It just means he's getting away with an additional crime of obstructing justice by not implicating the names of any coconspiritors( which would actually make the crime 100% premeditated because their would have been verbal plans discussed hence cognitive premeditation) . The presence of other DNA wouldn't change one single thing about his case other than adding codefendants to the case which if there were others with him they would be just as guilty not make him any the less.

Or was it purposely destroyed because it didn't match the suspect who dropped the blood? Also, the mother saw the attacker, why no description? Could a "clerical error" also mismatch blood to someone it doesn't belong to? They better hope this suspect doesn't get an attorney like Jose Baez (Casey Anthony's attorney) or they'll be setting him free.

There's been countless cases where victims couldn't id their attackers or were convinced it was someone else, while DNA said otherwise. Anyways, open and shut case for me. His blood was there, he knew the girl. What else is there to discuss...

These cases are just way to convenient. A drop of blood is all they had to go off of. They haven’t talked in years. That description was made by some computer and could be any number of men. They even had the guy’s hair cut are you really telling me a computer can make that all by itself? Too many factors in my opinion it sucks this guy has to go to jail because they rushed to make a conviction. I believe an innocent man is in jail and the real criminal is still on the loose. He had a wife and kids with absolutely no motive to do this.

  • @PatriciaWalton
    @PatriciaWalton 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Why was his blood at the scene, if he didn't do the crime? The mother she tried to identify the guy, but if you don't have a name to go with the face it just doesn't click. Also, a truamatic situation adds more strain on identifying what was seen. This guy's mother believes he is innocent, so Mom what was your Son's DNA in a droplet of fresh blood found at the scene doing there if he is innocent. And no evidence should be destroyed on any case, till it's reached a conclusion, and even then it should be retained.

  • @megan4377

Everyone neglects the fact that the shovel had someone else’s fingerprints.. not Justin’s. Just because that evidence got destroyed, it still was documented at one point that he didn’t match that shovel... also if he was cut on the glass and that’s his blood, why was there no other glass with blood? There’s no way there’d be one drop. All that blood does is place him OUTSIDE of the house, not in it.

The guys mom said,"that her sons dna didn't match the weapons used". Then the news said,"with more testing the mom felt her son could of been exonerated, but the evidence was destroyed." That means they did a dna test on it and the son was not a match. If so then did they test everyone in the house hold at that time to exclude there dna? Just a question? Thats huge to destroy that kind of evidence. If it was the mom or daughters or family member on the weapons that makes sense. But if it wasn't and it wasn't the guy's dna that needs explaining. I hate to say it. But it sounded like the cops didn't like the dna didn't match the guy so they just got rid of it so they could close this case.
