    I always felt so sorry for her bc lots of people ignored the fact that she went through all of that along with Gina and Amanda. The media payed more attention to the other girls. I think Michelle went through the most physical, mental, verbal and emotional abuse. He was sooooo cruel to her

      @ladylokiwifeodindottir7095 5 ปีที่แล้ว +327

      I completely agree that Lily should have had more coverage but I believe the reason. Why they focused on the two other girls (and I'm not saying it right) is because they were teens when they were taken. Yes Lily was there longer but the two teen were only children still and the abuse may have a stronger impact from the abuse. Plus it was Amanda who saved the three of them. They probably see that as her being the "Stronger" one. When in reality she saw an opportunity save themselves and seized it. A woman who was abducted and abused for ten years who wouldn't let him break her spirit. Or Young woman missing for 10+ years and was a teenager when she was taken saved herself and two other women plus her daughter from their kidnapper. Which sounds better? While I completely agree Lily should have had more coverage then what she did get. I believe they felt Amanda being the one to free them and had been a teen when she was abducted 10+years ago sounds better to them. But this is just imo

      @@ladylokiwifeodindottir7095 she didn't want the attention at first. She told them she'll talk when she's ready. Then she saw the others getting the spotlight then decided she was ready. Plus the other was the one that got them out AND had the child by him.

      @Ilene-pz8fp 4 ปีที่แล้ว +189

      I am happy for all three and I wish them only happiness. With the age difference, it is not surprising that Amanda and Gina remain close. It also sounds as though their abuser (while he pitted them against one another) kept Michelle away from the other two. In addition, there may be some resentment about Amanda being allowed to have her baby and Michelle was never graced same. That would have to cause additional trauma to Michelle. Again, I am happy to see that they are moving on with their lives and I hope they continue to grow as the incredible survivors that they are now known to be.

      Beverly Huttinger never judge someone. You do not know the reason behind those Tattoo's. I'm not trying to be rude! I am a young mother of 3 boy's and I have tattoos. She is a survivor. Yes! But she could be using that as a coping mechanism, or just becoming who she is and telling her story through those tattoos as well. So many reasons as to why people get tattoos and it isn't a race thing. Quite a shame to use the "white people" card amd to say that period, the way this world is n considering how far that America has become with races! This woman is a Walking Miracle, with great Strength. Never judge until you KNOW the full and true story behind someone else's choices, decisions, and life.

      Wells, now she's overweight. That's not good either, she needs to built a healthy relationship with food, which of course will be very hard after what happened to her. It's pretty common I think that people gain a lot of weight after traumatic events, something similar happened to Natasha kampusch for example, another girl who was kidnapped, had to starve for years and then became overweight.
      I really hope she manages to cope with it, so that she can live a long and healthy life without any medical problems. Saying you are glad that someone is overweight is in fact pretty ignorant, it's something very dangerous and painful. I guess you just meant that you're happy she has normal access to food now, which I agree with, but her weight is nothing to be happy about. It's rather worrying.

      Light Bringer All the victims gained a lot of weight. And most likely it’s because he destroyed their metabolisms by starving them as punishment. When your body is starved it goes into a survival mode and stores more fat when you eat because it doesn’t know when you’ll receive another meal. And it’s harder to correct your metabolism and it becomes harder for them to lose weight or burn fat.

      she literally referred to her as lily through the entire interview? and at the very beginning when she says “you changed your name - michelle - to what new name?” she only said michelle as a reference of what she changed her name from. she wasn’t calling her michelle, she was saying “you changed your name, which was michelle, to a new name”... she called her lily at 7:46 and several other times. maybe if you understood the english language or had more than a minute of attention span you would have figured that out.

      Beverly Huttinger the pain you experience from the needle going in your skin is extremely therapeutic. My entire left arm are going to be bracelets around my arm that represents positive and negative things that made me grow into my womanhood (I have 3/19 bands done). Everytime I get a tattoo that symbolizes a tough time in my life it is literal therapy for me. The best way to explain it is in that pain during the tattoo I put the same pain I felt in that time in my life. I can then put that pain away and have a reminder of how stronger it made me. To each their own I don't need anyone but myself to find it beautiful and freeing in fact my grandfather responds the way you do.

      I think (and I felt the way you did for a second at first) the parents know she’s traumatized and they want to make sure that she doesn’t inflict any harm on their son. They don’t know her, after all. And they want to make sure their son, and her son, doesn’t suffer as a result of all this.
      I’m a parent. Their primary duty is to their child. And this IS their child, even though he’s also her child. Adoptive parents are every bit as much parents as birth parents are. They’re cautious and they must be very conflicted. This must be hard for them too, after thinking mom was dead in absentia for so long.

      Well, sadly she says a lot that is not true.The child was abused more than once before cps took him. David Fecley was convicted and was not her mother's boyfriend like she claims. I was hoping after intensive therapy she would stop, but apparently nothing has changed. She keeps changing her stories and is still adding more lies. Which makes me wonder how impaired her mental/cognitive state was before her abduction.(see video M before abduction). Family members said she had the mind of a child. Its also mentioned in her missing person report, filed by her mother on the 23rd August 2002.
      After the rescue she had a very good female attorney who said she was worried about her, seeing the wrong kind of people at the time. Hopefully she keeps looking out for her and especially manages her finances. She met her husband via facebook when she was far from recovered, mentally. Married him in 2015. Who knows if his motivation is not her money? She is very vulnerable, easy to be exploited. Not just by the media.

    Megan Kelly lacks finesse. She's too eager & ends up coming off insincere. I think she does care, but her "public celebrity face" looks like she's not listening to Miss Knight, rather formulating her next question. 😕

    Even now Michelle is showing so must strength by putting her son's feelings before her own. She would prefer to let her son be happy by not disturbing him with his adopted family. Although she can no longer have children, because of all of the abuse she suffered while in that house; she was Blessed with a son prior to being kidnapped, and I do believe that she will be reunited with him soon!

  • @Ramon_92

    Michelles story out of the 3 girls that where kidnapped hurt me the most .
    First of all she was the longest captive of Ariel Castro , he kidnapped her back in early 2003 .
    She already lost her son to foster care weeks before that and was heart broken and now this happend to her .
    Nobody from her family looked for her the news didnt spend a single minute airing her dissaparance they all thought she just ran away from home .
    Over the years Ariel forced her to watch images of the other 2 girls whos families where looking for them and he said to Michelle : "See nobody cares about you !" .
    Michelle kept strong she was the driving force for the girls ultimate escape also she was the oldest so she lost the most time if you will she was 20 when Ariel kidnapped her .
    When she got out she was almost 32......
    STAY STRONG SWEETHEART! .

    • @xTwilightWolvesx
      @xTwilightWolvesx 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Garrett94 What I think happened (as long as I didn’t misunderstand Amanda Berry’s interview) was that there was a gap in the door for Amanda Berry’s child to get through, though the adults couldn’t. They escaped because Amanda Berry’s child figured out that the kidnapper was gone, so Amanda made noise in order to catch a neighbour’s attention. That’s how (I think) they escaped.

      Well yes but that thousand years has certain legal connotations when it comes to loopholes such as parole or good behaviour. It sounds ridiculous and they need to reword the law but that’s essentially what it amounts to

    • @Kaboomboo
      @Kaboomboo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      It was so if the life was overturned, there was 1000 years, or vice versa. That's how the law is worded in case there is an overturn, appeal, or clemency.

    • @jeffalbillar7625
      @jeffalbillar7625 4 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      This is how it works. He does the life sentence. If for some insane reason they find him suitable for parole (stranger things have happened), he is given a parole date from his life sentence. On that day, instead of parolling, he begins his 1,000 year sentence. If it's run consecutively. Which it would in almost all cases of violence.

    It's a beautiful thing to acknowledge that so many broken moments can be strung back to make a whole entirely new incredible picture. This girl thought of a friend and her son. Not people she would be reunited with if she escaped but people who had been there before her time in the house. This shows us how big of an impact we can have on others. Small moments of love and kindness can support the people we care about and even strangers in the darkest of times moments and even years later. This entire story has so much goodness in it once you get past what that man did to these girls. The neighbor who broke them out,the officers who started to cry when they arrived. The communities that rallied to bring the girls back home. And Ofcourse most of all the relentless women that weathered the storm and made it.
