Mine ate batteries ever year until I replaced the alternator a couple of years ago. Needed new fuel pump and struts, too. All that said for a 16 year old car with 95k on it, not too shabby. Super comfy and fast enough, decent mpg's, too.

Bought my cousins 06 Gs300 for $2100 AUD, little bit of hail damage and driver seat leather cover is trashed. Have the P0175 code coming up (bank 2 running too rich) and am slowly addressing that with the cheapest fixes first. Drives really well, smooth and comfy.... quite the bargain still.

I'm watching this in the UK; sitting in my 2006 Lexus GS300 SE-L. Fabulous car in every way but, with respect, you forgot to mention a few key points that apply to these cars. Namely; the handling, which is excellent, the speed, which is pretty awesome, the comfort, which is unequalled in my opinion; and the amazing silence in which everything happens! Not to worry though - I've done it all for you...haha

I've owned my '06 GS300 for 12 years now. 125Kmiles. An awesome car in every respect. Great handling, comfortable, reliable, inexpensive to maintain, 31mpg on the road...... I hope to own this car for many more years.
Just replaced the old radio worth a 12.8" Tesla style touch screen that fit perfectly in the factory dash cut out. It operates accessories , rear view camera, bluetooth, wireless, etc. Even does videos!! Happy as a clam..... I have the original window sticker and the car was $49,000 MSRP. I paid $18,000 used and it was in near perfect condition. Tires, brakes, oil & filter, over the years. Just put spark plugs in it and the old ones look like they are wearing well as are are all components.

I had a 2001 gs430 with 474,000km that I bought from a scrap yard for $500. Put about $1000 into it an drove it for 2 years (100,000km) with just brake pads and oil changes. Car was fast, luxurious, comfortable, and cheap.
Looking to get another but also noticing these are bargains as well. Its a tough choice, lexus offers a lot of bargains for 10k. A 2009 ls460 is also a good 10k car. 2011 ls600h (for a tad bit more money) is also a gem.

These cars are amazing! I have the same GS model, but the 430 (v-8) super fun to drive, and the handling is great. It still drives like a brand new car. I just recently leased a 2024 Buick Envision for commuting, and my 2006 Lexus GS hands down drives and handles better... the only thing the 2024 Envision has it beat on is gas mileage and, of course, the infotainment display. Lexus (Toyota) is a great product that will last years!

Looking at reliability on newer cars do not come close to my 300gs.
