I'm glad that someone who rides a bike is reviewing this thing. A lot of reviewers are way too impressed with the way it looks and how it's "affordable" to even comment on anything practical. Thank you!

I think the shocks leaking is a rarity haven't really seen it posted anywhere else as being a widespread issue. Have 2 metas myself, so far so good as I knock on wood!

I'm going to order the replacement forks from the manufacturer "Geely", I might buy a few extra to sell on eBay so people don't need to wait on them from China. Currently waiting on some other parts from Geely for the Metacycle
My Metacycle suspension started leaking pretty bad on the brake side. I had to buy a few special tools and replace the oil seal and washer which fixed the problem. I was able to get it fixed in a weekend and be back in action by Monday. It has held up great since.
@@ellestar2306yes. It’s a fully legal MC but you can’t get it new the company royally f’d up and are no longer in business only a few thousand exist. I own a black one don’t have all these issues live in NJ if your interested…
i have 750w electric bicycle. i keep looking at those 60v ebikes. i think they are a better option than the sondors. the more exotic looking the more trouble.
So you’ve made your complaints well-known. (Sorry the throttle made your wrist hurt). We all know this electric motorcycle was made with little to no quality control. Off the shelf SiAecosys parts available to the public were put together on this frame to make this motorcycle. I got 2700 miles out of mine so I figured $2/mile is what I spent before the controller burned out. Storm Sondors screwed us. Some more than others. So what’s your solution? Are you going to modify yours to address these problems? If so, it would be helpful if you shared the solutions. This electric motorcycle is a novelty. The company is completely out of business now so you’ll have to fix problems by yourself. Also why do you compare this motorcycle to internal combustion engine motorcycles?
I have the Metacycle and haven't had any of the ergonomic issues or mechanical failures that you mentioned, however I can agree that the shocks don't absorb bumps very well but tend to bounce over them. (Not good for bumps + rain) The only issue I have had is the power button stop working while riding so I had a bike that couldn't turn off, but after disconnecting and re-pairing the battery using the dongle the power button allowed me to turn the bike off again. I assume the power button not responding must have been a software glitch. Over all it's been a comfortable and fun bike to ride all around my city, no points of discomfort, great brakes, good acceleration, enough range, high and low beams are really good also the turn signals are bright, charge time less than 4 hours and ready to go, I have no complaints about the comfort of the seat, throttle, foot stands, they are fine for me. The rear wheel is going to be involved to remove but I build many e-bikes so it will just be a day out of my weekend to replace the rear tire if needed.
Do tell, how many miles do you have on it, and what do you weigh? If I myslef had owned this maybe the fork seals would not have failed because I am a small guy
I weigh about 170 lbs, the bike has 1500 miles and I just got the issue on the brake side of the fork seal leaking. Geely said it would be $160 for replacement forks, not including vat, card fees, and shipping.
This bike matches most closely with the Ryvid Anthem from all that I have gathered about it except that the Metacycle has reached 90 mph while the Ryvid only claims to reach 70+ mph. I have ridden the Livewire Mulholland and S2 Del Mar and even though they only have 1/3 more torque, it makes a massive difference in acceleration. Additionally the cornering on the Metacycle is not great compared to the Livewire bikes.
I can tell that the model you were reviewing here is an early model, lots of changes have been done before mine was delivered. The spokes are in the wheel instead of on external mount points, the kick stand was improved so it doesn't hit the frame, the brakes are surprisingly good much better than my e-bikes so maybe that was improved.
An update, 2x major failures of the electronics display, one within 300 miles, another within 700 miles, no response on customer service for the second time.

As of January 3, 2024, Sondors is in receivership, which means its creditors are trying to liquidate the company's assets to pay off debts.

If it lasts 2000 miles with no issues comment. 40,000 on the Yamaha to issues..... 100 miles Sonders issues.. 500 miles tons of issues
