Kipo’s voice actress plays Kimiko in The Boys, a character who quite literally rips peoples faces off. Also Glimmer, she voices Glimmer in She-Ra and she plays Kitana in Suicide Squad. Quite the acting range indeed.
I knew she was in The Boys, but I did not know she does that! I guess the similarities between Kimiko and Kipo end at "their names start with Ki and end with o."

I think it was good that they didn't make such a big deal of him coming out. IMO we should normalize people coming out or like saying what they prefer.
This show has not gotten the buzz it deserves. I'm so glad that it got a Season 2, and I hope that it will find the audience it needs to keep it going for as long as the creators need to tell their story.
my favorite scene is when Kipo is singing to the mega monkey in ep 4, and in the second season we find out the mega monkey is Kipo's mother, and when you think back to the original scene in ep 4 it makes more sense and its more impactful because shes singing a song that is her mother's favorite.
I really enjoyed watching this show! I loved the way the world is built up with all these different animal clans and how they interact with the main characters. I also love the design of the world and the characters, it's all so beautiful to look at. I really liked the interaction between the characters especially how Wolf and Kipo almost takes turns in teaching each other life lessons, like how Wolf teaches Kipo how to survive on the surface and Kipo teaches Wolf that kindness can take you further than violence, they just fit so well together.
There were honestly so many things I loved about Kipo. The music!!! So good! Purple Jaguar Eye is such a bop!! The characters were such a breath of fresh air. Usually the protagonist can be.. annoying or.. a Mary Sue. But, Kipo wasn’t either of those. She was hopeful and kind and loving. Even though Wolf continued to push her away, she still loved her as a sister. Benson lovingly rejected her and she still continued to love and care for him, a short bout of embarrassment was bound to be there, but she pushed it aside. I love the idea that she’s half mute. It’s so interesting and I’m really curious about who her mother was. It was also very touching to see Wolf, who hates mutes, realize maybe they aren’t so bad. Gosh, I haven’t seen many people talk about this show, so it’s super cool seeing a very well thought out and beautiful video. Awesome job! If you’re looking for any other cool Netflix shows to review, The Dragon Prince is pretty awesome..!

I just got the entire series, and thought to myself when looking at the cover art, and the gorgeous colors- this show looks like something unique, and takes me back to the “feel good” era.. I’m glad this review really made that point, and confirmed my assumptions. Me, and my family(wife, and two kids) will enjoy this fully
i'm four years late here, but i've been watching kipo since a little bit before season 2 released and i've always been a little confused about what was going on with purple jaguar eye. this video perfectly puts it into perspective and now i can enjoy the show even more than i already do (which is a lot). great video!
Literally, we all know Wolf has a crush on Kipo, and they better do something with it, or my heart won't be able to take it anymore after Voltron had the Shiro debacle.
I think a show like this does representation really well. None of our main characters are caucasian, two are girls, the third is gay. They didn't make a big deal about it, they didn't make it look like its something special, they just did it and when you watch the show you just accept that's how it is. And that's how it should be, it shouldn't be a big deal, it should be normal! We have room for everything!

The LGBT representation, the black main characters, the strong female roles, the critique on rassism and the portraied mutes as stereotypes (often connected to patriarchy) and how they break when it comes to Kipo, her strenght in believing in the good in everybody/ seeing the hurt in everybody and the music connecting all of them. This is a wonderfull series I really enjoyed =)

I saw this in my recommendations one day and thought "Woah, amazing? That's pretty high praise! Maybe I'll give it a shot." So I didn't watch the video and just binged S1 and S2 and I've never been so happy. The soundtrack is insane, the world building is delightful and the character relationship dynamic is so good that I can't help but rewatch the whole thing again. I just had to come back to this video (because I can now watch without fear of spoilers) and know how loved this show is. I hope you get more people to watch it! This show is amazing!

i had heard about this show a lot but never watched it then i got an urge to watch it and man do i not regret it i finished all three seasons in less than a week and everything about it is amazing the world the characters the music (and i agree the purple jaguar eye scene and song are so good and i love them) it's such a beautiful show and i wish it had more seasons but ay least it had enough to satisfy

A bit of spoilers for season 2 I guess? Idk it’s mainly just a rant on why I love the show. I love Kipo because of the representation and that even though Kipo is a bit of a doormat heroine she is able to throw some hands whenever required or when appropriate and how simple and sometimes complex yet not dumb-downed for a cartoon the plot is. It really does remind me of Avatar, representation, the ability to disassociate from the main plot with a bit of filler that actually gives us insight into the characters and subtly actually becomes a bit more important than what it seems to be at when introduced. The characters aren’t just surface level and can be analysed deeper and are more humanised than most shows I’ve seen, my favourite example: scarlamagne he isn’t just ‘hates or wants something from the main character for like no reason other than power and we need a villain that’ll reveal an even worse villain.’ *cough*svtfoe*cough* he’s actually got a good reason to despise, dislike or resent Kipo.
Just watched season 1. Show is absolutely amazing! They probably could've done it a bit more interesting with animal varietys, which are all basically bigger and have some quirk along with an extra pair of legs or something. Music in the show is an absolute blast, especially in the chasing scenes, but when i got to the Purple Jaguar Eye I fucking lost it! It's so good i just can't stop watching it over and over

I am a 21 year old man and i aspire to be like Kipo, Somone who sees the best in people and looks at life as an opportunity to make as Many friends as possible from all Paths of life. This show made me wanna LIVE and not just exist, thankyou for reading this and have an amazing life, you deserve it, take the first step and live.
(In general) Movies and series always show conflict (and climax). Without it, it has less impact on our emotion and involvement as a viewer. Not to specifically lie to us, but to persevere our feelings towards a show. A very powerful thing that Kipo did, is to give characters realistic ambitions when spoken from the heart. Every 'villain' in the world of Kipo has shared their inside thoughts *with* Kipo, coming to terms for what _*"has" *_ to be done. The serie showed a very nuanced story in a great detailed world design with: ambitious characters being themselves, a plot that show humor and great music that should be a genre on its own. All in an art style that feels new to me and it's all done in character-driven conflict. The whole storyline becomes more and more intertwined with each other, because a lot of characters (even 'villains') compliment with other characters. It show conflict in a fashionable way, because it isn't just some thing. Is character-driven conflict with a wink to all the happenings. Where plot and the goal has always been the focus, but with characters you can make episodic events out of. The characters? Done ingenious! Characters like Scarlemagne, Jamack, Wolf, Kipo and Dave have been very favorable to me (Mulholland is great too after all). What I love about them, is the way they express and act as themselves. The do-good-believing Kipo, the manipulate sensible but sensitive Scarlemagne, the entrepreneury action-packed frog Jamack, the simple proud but funny Dave and the survivable smart cautious Wolf. *_All these characters have so much charm_* and I want to believe that a show/serie like Kipo could be a new standard for character driven plots! Kipo just gained some new respect me. I think it deserves a praise, for being one of a kind and being a master with (movie-like)conflict! Thanks for the experience, love what you've done DreamWorks! I actually *did* shed a tear, *_twice_* at the end, you probably know why ;)
One thing I'm wondering about is how kipo and wolf didn't have that encounter with the mega bunny earlier, in other scenarios the mega bunny comes in about 2 hours after smelling you. But it took a whole day for them to find kipo and wolf in the first episode???

Kipo and the age of wonderbeasts needs a movie comic book which takes all the episodes and makes it into a 3 book comic series.

The LGBT representation, the black main characters, the strong female roles, the critique on rassism and the portraied mutes as stereotypes (often connected to patriarchy) and how they break when it comes to Kipo, her strenght in believing in the good in everybody/ seeing the hurt in everybody and the music connecting all of them. This is a wonderfull series I really enjoyed =)

I saw this in my recommendations one day and thought "Woah, amazing? That's pretty high praise! Maybe I'll give it a shot." So I didn't watch the video and just binged S1 and S2 and I've never been so happy. The soundtrack is insane, the world building is delightful and the character relationship dynamic is so good that I can't help but rewatch the whole thing again. I just had to come back to this video (because I can now watch without fear of spoilers) and know how loved this show is. I hope you get more people to watch it! This show is amazing!

Watching this from 2-3 years in the future, I agree with all the points and it's like DreamWorks saw this video and said "HERE ARE THE ANSWERS YOU SEEK CHILD!" for the 2nd season! It's awesome!
From the reviews I've seen/read and my personal preference, I can safely say that "Purple Jaguar Eye" has become the most beloved scene/song in season 1.😎🤙🏼💜

i had heard about this show a lot but never watched it then i got an urge to watch it and man do i not regret it i finished all three seasons in less than a week and everything about it is amazing the world the characters the music (and i agree the purple jaguar eye scene and song are so good and i love them) it's such a beautiful show and i wish it had more seasons but ay least it had enough to satisfy
Ive watched this show 3 times over and it is my 2nd or 1st show, it is so wholesome and just overall amazing, i cannot get it out of my mind

A bit of spoilers for season 2 I guess? Idk it’s mainly just a rant on why I love the show.
I love Kipo because of the representation and that even though Kipo is a bit of a doormat heroine she is able to throw some hands whenever required or when appropriate and how simple and sometimes complex yet not dumb-downed for a cartoon the plot is. It really does remind me of Avatar, representation, the ability to disassociate from the main plot with a bit of filler that actually gives us insight into the characters and subtly actually becomes a bit more important than what it seems to be at when introduced. The characters aren’t just surface level and can be analysed deeper and are more humanised than most shows I’ve seen, my favourite example: scarlamagne he isn’t just ‘hates or wants something from the main character for like no reason other than power and we need a villain that’ll reveal an even worse villain.’ *cough*svtfoe*cough* he’s actually got a good reason to despise, dislike or resent Kipo.
I didn’t think I would like this series but I warmed up to it and I’m working on my third binge marathon.
Dreamworks animated shows have been fire lately.

They probably could've done it a bit more interesting with animal varietys, which are all basically bigger and have some quirk along with an extra pair of legs or something.
Music in the show is an absolute blast, especially in the chasing scenes, but when i got to the Purple Jaguar Eye I fucking lost it!

This has to be one of my favourite Netflix animated shows!
(In general) Movies and series always show conflict (and climax). Without it, it has less impact on our emotion and involvement as a viewer. Not to specifically lie to us, but to persevere our feelings towards a show.
A very powerful thing that Kipo did, is to give characters realistic ambitions when spoken from the heart. Every 'villain' in the world of Kipo has shared their inside thoughts *with* Kipo, coming to terms for what _*"has" *_ to be done. The serie showed a very nuanced story in a great detailed world design with: ambitious characters being themselves, a plot that show humor and great music that should be a genre on its own. All in an art style that feels new to me and it's all done in character-driven conflict. The whole storyline becomes more and more intertwined with each other, because a lot of characters (even 'villains') compliment with other characters. It show conflict in a fashionable way, because it isn't just some thing. Is character-driven conflict with a wink to all the happenings. Where plot and the goal has always been the focus, but with characters you can make episodic events out of. The characters? Done ingenious!
Characters like Scarlemagne, Jamack, Wolf, Kipo and Dave have been very favorable to me (Mulholland is great too after all). What I love about them, is the way they express and act as themselves. The do-good-believing Kipo, the manipulate sensible but sensitive Scarlemagne, the entrepreneury action-packed frog Jamack, the simple proud but funny Dave and the survivable smart cautious Wolf.
*_All these characters have so much charm_* and I want to believe that a show/serie like Kipo could be a new standard for character driven plots!
Kipo just gained some new respect me. I think it deserves a praise, for being one of a kind and being a master with (movie-like)conflict! Thanks for the experience, love what you've done DreamWorks! I actually *did* shed a tear, *_twice_* at the end, you probably know why ;)
One thing I'm wondering about is how kipo and wolf didn't have that encounter with the mega bunny earlier, in other scenarios the mega bunny comes in about 2 hours after smelling you. But it took a whole day for them to find kipo and wolf in the first episode???
After watching season 2 I now realize the foreshadowing of the DNA surrounding kipos dad at 14:44
