I love portable field operations, QRP is a passion. I have a number of radios (kits) which perform amazing. What you’ve demonstrated is a refinement and excellent radio. Great video!
Which way round is the internal USB connector wired up? There is no stable location for it. I will have to do a lot of work to mount it stably, and engineer an extension for the PTT connector.
Apologies for asking for additional information. How do you secure the little board and usb connector to the case? I do not think the connected wires would hold it either in place.
That's really sweet, David. Make the (tr)uSDX into a handie-talkie for sure. And I like the military green color too. Next I'll have to get my 3d printer friends to crank out a nice green case & battery box for mine ;-) All we need now is a tack-on auto ATU and we'll have something better than the X5105 or the X6100 (which, from the looks of things, won't be that hard to do ;-) ) 73 de W8IJN
Great minds think alike 😂. I'm planning something very similar. I want to make a whole new back shell so that the case is extended on the side of the DC (run the DC supply cable inside the new back shell) in to make it a bit tidier and to incorporate an internal SMA to SO239 pigtail chassis socket (because all my antenna connectors are that flavour). And, naturally, have EA5HQ embossed 😂. I'm also considering incorporating a Lidl Parkside lithium tool battery socket - for a week's operating on a single charge 😂. It will probably end up bigger that my IC-705 😅
Very nice and precision work. I've put off doing any 3D printing, but I think I'll be doing it yet this year. So much to replace or fabricate. Thank you. 73, N5XMV
Is the FM usable on this usdr/usdx radios? I am mostly interested in portable radio for 11 & 10 meter FM. Can you maybe make a future video demonstrating the FM mod on this small portable radios. Thank you.
Busque mucho esa expansion para el uSDX y no lo encontre, seria tan amable de poder facilitarme la direccion de dichos STL? se lo agradeceria muchisimo, un saludo de Alberto EA1HWA
Just got the whole set from Andrei & his crew! Great stuff! Thanks to you for dreaming this up & to Andrei & his friends for such a quality product! 73 de W8IJN
Hello David, this is Eduardo/w5egm. Is your battery case available for download? I’m interested on making one for my recently bought (tr)uSDX from a Chinese supplier…
Excellent! When looking to buy the 14500 3.7V batteries there seem to be a lot of variations in mAH quoted, 800 - 2800, which makes me suspicious about their quality and reliability - especially for use in a project of this nature. Does anyone have recommendations for makes 14500 3.7V that are best suited for this project? De John G8MWF
Great project. It 's just a pity that the power is not constant . 4 watts is good, but 2.5 is not enough. I think you can finish this design by equalizing the power
I really respect your interest. I love QRP myself. In this case , I touched on the imperfection of the setting . We must strive for the best.)@@QRP.lifestyle
I run a lot of green/camo stuff but bright orange is handy when you drop something in the woods

Hi David I like your battery case and the spacer for the antenna socket this gives the socket more strength. Well Done

Could you use the side USB plug as a charging port for the batteries? How would that be connected
Outstanding 👍
Thank you

How do we order a battery case for the (tr)usdx from QRP Lifestyle Thanks VE3 VWG
Just email me it is 19€+ shipping

Good idea to work long but the battery will be 3 times bigger than the trx 😉
Great idea. Looks fantastic!
Well done! Good innovation and a nice practical solution. The provision for the USB is a nice touch.

How will you ensure the 14500 cells don't drop below their safe voltage (3v/cell)? Typically this job is done with a BMS.
Just check the voltage on the screen
Könntest Du mir bitte vom Spacer (Clip 04:50) die .stl Daten zum Nachdrucken zukommen lassen?
Great video, thank you for your contribution to our hobby :)
very cool! just received mine today!
Well done !

It is only from 80-20
what size is the jack power
I need this. very very nice.
Hey David, for the 14500 batteries do you recomend protected or unprotected cells?
With protection
Very nicely done! What filament are you using David? What are your printer settings?
Petg setting are individual
why should you insert the micro usb?
For making digi modes

Hi, did you publish stl files for diy prints or only selling your own prints? 73
That's so cool!! But why do you write Audio and Mic/Key on the box??
It is standard on this case
nice
the future is now old man :)

I just bought some from ebay they have about 1200 in real, colour is blue
For those of us who'd like to run 18650 cells and wouldn't mind the size difference. Would you sell the 18650 version?
Yes. The more the current capacity, the more power output it will transmit
Nice. What is the total weight with this module(plus batteries)?
+-350g
I tried to contact you but the email didn’t work. I would like to purchase one. Thanks
My email works....?
Nice 1
Super 👍🏻👏🏻

Finetuning the filter is a solution
@@QRP.lifestyle This indicates a flaw and needs to be corrected. Losing half the power is not reasonable
@@eugene-anthony4823 please note that I am using 3 cells. With 4 cells 5-6w each band. But I do not need more than 2W. Trust me it works great :)

How May I order a battery box from you? How do I contact you.
You can find my email on qrz
I am intereted in buying one, how can I do?
Just mail me (you can find it on qrz)
👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻
is the stl file available?
Very nice! Will you be posting the stl file on Thingiverse?
Later
Just wait for that 40 meter portable Yagi
😄😄
Great project👍 it sure turned out nice❗️ 73. KV5P
Really loud echos. You might like to avoid the echos in the future.
True! I got a new microphone
Hallo ,mein beste 73s QRO
nope. needs vertical (portrait) display mode.
Trouble is 14500 is not rechargeable
cant hear you with the echo. you need better mic. and redo this video.
Hello David. Very nice idea. I like it!🤩 73 de Javier EA3GCY
