    Looking forward to the video about the making of the vertical antenna for the (tr)usdx. But please put the list of materials, and measurements some where in the description. Perhaps if possible the 3D printed file. Keep up the great work, love the channel.

    Nice demo David, i also checked the power levels at 13.8Vdc/ but i will check them at 11.1Vdc as you did so i can compare now. Looking forward for your next video with that nice antenna you designed. vy 73 de Andrei, YO6TJJ

      Hello Andrei, at 13.8V about 6W

    Please correct me if I'm wrong. You have reduced the attenuation of the bandpass filter to have more gain. Am I right? What about the measurement of harmonics?

    • @tim46767
      @tim46767 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      indeed. Removing completely the filter will increase much more ;-)
      You can't do that.
      You measure now the output power AND the harmonics! And it is possible that you have less fundamentals, because a pi-filter increase the power.

      @@tim46767 I do not have the correct toroids because of this I had do reduce the windings

    I did the same with the chinese usdx....I learned this methode from the Qrplabs Qcx.... Not only remove some windings but squeeze or stretch the windings on the toroid wil do also a good job! 73

    I just did this with my (tr)uSDX that Faraaz built for me. Yep. One winding off of the 30m and 40m coils (rest of the bands were good) did the trick. Now about 4 to 5W on all of 'em. And just got a report of RBN for my 20m CW signal from EA8. So it must have worked. ;-) 73 de W8IJN

    Hey,
    I had about the same power output as you. In my case also 80m was the best, followed by 30m and the other bands were below 3 W. I removed 2 turns on the first torroid for 40m and 60m which improved the power to about 4 W. I also removed one turn one each torroid for 20m which gave me 5,5 W.
    Besides I noted the power lowers significantly to the upper end of the band. So for 80m I had 5W at 3500 kHz but only about 3 W at 3800 kHz. So you should consider this depending on your favorite mode of operation.

    I'm just building my rig, but I plan on using the NanoVNA to tune each of the filters so they don't attenuate much at the top of each band but still suppress the harmonics well. The VNA's are a great tool for those of us who used to have to guess and cut and resolder and guess again. Being able to see what is going on is wonderful. It's the best $60 equipment investment I ever made.
    BTW, have you tried using your HF HT indoors yet? Clearly it won't work nearly as well as in that high open meadow, but it will probably work some. I live in a city and as soon as my rig is done I plan on trying it from in front of an upstairs window in my apartment building. I don't expect much, but something is better than nothing.

    So David, any opinion on swapping the bs170 finals for a power MOSFET?

    • @QRP.lifestyle
      @QRP.lifestyle  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No in the original one the bs170 perform well

    Hi David, deine neue Antenne für welche Bänder hast du die vorgesehen und wie lange ist der Teleskop Strahler?

      1.2m aber nur für 20m
      Es gibt diese für stabile Geräte von 40-10 aber der tr usdx ist durch das Kunststoffgehäuse zu instabil für diese Hebelwirkung.
