The PSG1 was one of the first sniper rifles I learned about as a kid. I even remember spending a lot of time at a local arcade on a game that used a light gun that had a more than passing resemblance to the PSG1.

@@gilliganinja No, small book about military small arms. Truthfully I never got into MGS, but largely because it was a PS exclusive at the time. My brother and I were N64/Computer nerds.

I had a friend when I was 17 who's dad was pretty successful and he had a PSG1 ...
After I went into the USMC a few years later, got out became an instructor for a while...
I owned an HK91 clone (SAR-8) which either outperformed his PSG1 or...?
I was able to get sub MOA groups with the clone and was limited to 1-2 MOA w his PSG1?
I only know about the RSASS from Escape From Tarkov.

I have an issue with the M110a1 being on this list. The army adopted it as a DMR nat a sniper rifle. Army doctrine says the a1 has a 1.3 MOA while the M110 has a 1MOA rating. Thus why the a1 didn’t replace the M110 as the SASS. So yes according to doctrine, the a1 is more if a precise rifle than the M4 but it still doesn’t have the precision of the M110.
TLDR: The M110a1 is accurate but not as precise. M110 is accurate and precise. M110 is a sniper rifle, M110a1 is a DMR

The WA-2000 and PSG-1 are the OG of Semi Auto Precision Rifles! I got to see and handle a WA-2000 back in the 1980s, but didn't get to shoot it 😞 It's one of the reasons why my first bolt action rifles were chambered in 300WM. And I had the opportunity to purchase a HK SR9TC around the same time, but stupidly passed on it.

The hk m110a1 is phenomenal. I’ve reached out to 1100 meters and rung steel. They’re accurate and honestly not that heavy or terrible to carry on patrol

you had the R-11, I have a "tuned" R-25 that runs sub MOA to 300yds (range limit). Love it!!!!
the HK PSG-1 is actually on the list of firearms id like to own someday. I actually saw a story that they were going to start selling them in the states again soon.
H&k are my dream guns. Seen them my whole life in movies and video games.
The first pistol i bought when I turned 21 was a HK USP 45c, still love it 15 years later. Working on getting a 416 now 🤘🏽

About the Walther 2000, you should definitely talk to Ian at Forgotten Weapons! He has had experience shooting it (watch his video) and could maybe get you contacts to do the same!
The Dragunov is my dream firearm.

My Springfield Armory M1A I purchased in the mid 90s ( one of "Golden Age of M1As") can place rounds at a 100 yard target sub MOA all day.
I was disappointed that he didn't mention it. The national match is super accurate.
@@shawnleahy9410 My M1A is a hot pile of garbage. 5-7 MOA with M118, M80, Federal Fusion, and others.
This was obviously a Clint wish list! I'd like to see how the list would change when considering rifles available to the average guy in decent quantities so as to not make them like searching for a diamond in a hay stack!

I have seen one but never shot it (would love to) is a sword international mk18 mjolnir. I personally think they are pretty cool. My personal list would be the lmt mars h, fn scar 20, hk g28 (same as the m110a1 but I like the hand guard better), Dragunov SVU, and then possibly the sword, falkor Petra or Barrett Barrett rec 10.
The REC10 in 20" slaps, for sure.

You only looked at military style weapons. What do you think about the „Sauer&Sohn 303“ it’s a hunting rifle semi auto in .308
Would love to see a comparison of only the longer reaching higher powered rifles. 300 win mag. 338 lapua mag, 6.5 creedmore, etc..
Lol after about 1200 yards the 6.5 Creed will get left in the dust....it's a decent short action but it can't compete with the mags
6.5 creedmoor is a step up from .308, thats about it though. It doesn't compare to .300winmag or 30-06, let alone .338lapua magnum.

I had an opportunity about 12 years ago to buy a Romanian PSL-54c with a PSOP-1 scope, sling, 4 magazines and soft case for $699.99. Problem was? I was under 18 and didn't have the money. Wish I could go back and buy it.

The Walther 2000 is always been the 1 gun I have always wanted.
Seems like there’s a pile of those walther 2000 online for a mere 63k lowest price I found. You know it was 9k new in the 80’s? That’s why they quit making it cause nobody thought it was worth the money and it wasn’t robust enough for the military. It wasn’t worth the money at all but now if I have one your the man. Life is weird.

Can't say I'm surprised, but I was really hoping to hear something about the Savage MSR 10 Precision (in .308). I can't find it anywhere, even savage basically just shrugged their shoulders when I asked.
I have the LR variant because at the time I bought it, the Precision wasn't available. I have the same issue you have, even when I have asked in a couple shooting groups I'm in, all my questions are met with chirping crickets.

for all that want to try out the w2000 that was the classic hitman briefcase rifle from hitman blood money and it could be decked out to the max. Hitman: Blood Money on the ps2 and ps3 if you have one of those systems get the game and play with the w2000 it is beyond perfect.

Wait, just found out about WA2000? It's been out for decades. It's famously seen in Hitman video game series.
There was a H&K PSG-1 at an estate sale last month and it sold for $15,000. There was also a Barrett 50 BMG and it sold for $8,000. Only here in North Arkansas. LOL

How do you shoot the barrel out on a semiautomatic 308 over the course of a single deployment?!?! An FN 308 barrel is going to be good for not less than 10,000 rounds. The armorer swapping out that barrel was likely completely unnecessary. Yeah, I’d be frustrated, too.
How is it that the svd is on the thumb nail but didnt make it on the list? Out of every thing its easily the most renown, even more so the the psg1.

I have an experience with the Walther 2000. Had to wash my ears out and change my britches when you told us the price. Never want that experience again.
I have a 40 year old 6mm rem that has helped killed 80 dear. I love that rifle.

Clint! go play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 from back in the day for the WA 2000. It takes up so much of your screen and the scope cover sticker was my favorite part of that rifle otherwise I hated it.
