That's what I was thinking. I love all music mostly. He could be a total jammer for other but get down to a whole new stage with him as the lead. It could be heavy metal actually.
I bought this album in 1985, right after my son was born. Almost 40 years later I'm still listening and loving this AWESOME song ❤️ The Eagles couldn't have chosen a better member. Joe gave them THAT EDGE,❤️
joe walsh never disappoints.., whether its the james gang , solo or the eagles his playing is unmistakable.., he totally leaves his mark on everything he does...., he's a rock hero....
His guitar riffs are very unique. Only the guitar greats have that unique sound. It's like you know who it is before anyone sings a word to the song. Even if it's brand new.
I’d still vote for Joe for president. One of my favorite so talented musicians. I met him once at his home 40yrs ago in montecito. He is a genuine nice guy!!
Honestly, I think all of his songs are deep - you just have to get past his comical way of seeing things in his lyrics to find that there is something there, something deeper than you realize...But, it's there.
This has always been a favorite for me! Exceptional guitar work, impressive lyrics, oddly uncharacteristic of his more humorous songs. I had a chance to see him with my late sister in Santa Clara, in 1988, in a small venue. We were in the first seated row and it was more like hanging out and partying with him! He started off with this tune, playing acoustic slide for the first verse, pausing as the lights went down, came back with his trademark pale blue strat and the full band. It was a great show and a great memory for me, spending quality time with my, now passed, little sister.
Killer man,I just think Joe sounds better when playing a Les Paul, only because stats sound like shit, but that's not your fault bro, rock on,you have good taste in music,no one likes you personally, but damn are we glad you.are here!
@@moonwoofmars I hope this is a joke post or else WTF is your problem? Also strats do not sound like shit! Exhibit A: Jimi Hendrix, Exhibit B: David Gilmour, Exhibit C: Kieth Richards. Don’t get me wrong, Les Pauls are amazing guitars with a signature sound (especially when it comes to distorted leads) and yes, Joe Walsh’s sound is all about that guitar, but don’t say it doesn’t have its place in the pantheon of culturally influential instruments.
Love Joe Walsh and his music. It's been a lifelong journey. He inspired me to be a party animal when I was younger. He now inspired me in my search for truth, sensible living and helping others achieve the same, as I am helped. Thank you Joe Walsh, for your inspiration and music. And yes, the laughs🤣💖🙏🎸
A lot of people don't realize how great a guitar player Joe is !!! I have a Guitar Player Magazine from the early 70's with Joe Walsh, he talks about how he tears equipment down and adjusts things or rebuilds it to his liking. Always loved Joe Walsh.
Joe was the First Known artist I saw at 19yrs. alive.....Till this day, I'm now 66! Still has the mojo he started with.... I've seen 19 shows, without the Eagles. Eagles went sky high when Joe hooked up with them. The Confessor a work of genius!
Don't make them like this anymore. Heard it on a local station on the way home friom work today and just had to see the video as soon as I got home. Too bad there is not a higher resolution version available. Brings back a lot of good memories!
Joe Walsh has written many great songs, but this and "In the City" are so powerful. "City" is stark and lonely, showing the brutality that comes with civilization. But "The Confessor" reaches in and grabs your soul and forces the confession of your sin right out of you.
The first time I smoked a joint was in around 86 and I remember being with my buddy Brad in his 79 Mustang Ghia & that thang had a system.. We wore this song out.. The Confessor is truly one of the most bad ass songs ever!!!
One of the best rock songs ever written. Instrumentally it had a BIG sound with the guitar riffs and the sound of the drums. Just a bad ass piece of work. Joe you did it. You own it. One of the best to do it and this song was before it's time.
@@philipthomas6808 The problem with most classic rock stations is they play the same top hits of that era over and over. It would be nice if they would play the deeper cuts of Joe Walsh, Allman Brothers, Hendrix, Doors, ELP, etc., etc.

I ABSOLUTELY ❣️ Joe Walsh!!!! I never get tired of his music! The Eagles made a brilliant move when they recruited him!!!! He's Genius! The Confesser, is a work of art!
The Confessor always felt like a well written rock overture.. love it. And the ending sequence to this video is exactly how to portray the climax. Joe said Stevie Nicks was with him for the entire process of this album and it definitely shows. Awesome!!
Oh how I wish they would have kept going!! This album and Ray’s Golden Scarab is all the proof you need to see who was the man behind the music. R.I.P. my brother. Can’t wait to jam with you when I arrive in the spirit realm again.
3:28 It is THE BEST guitar playing, and showmanship of the guitar ever filmed. I remember when this song/video first came out. The choreography and the angles when he's playing the Les Paul were just so perfect, if you were a guitar player, or just starting out, THIS bit just made it so, much more appealing and was inspirational to my learning to play.

He has videos here about tuning and it's truly the most important yet entertaining video ever made about tuning there is and even if you aren't into guitars it's still a must see. Plus he sold the g uitar to Jimmy Page that Jimmy still uses all the time!! Must've been a very durable assembly. If you don't play guitar it's truly amazing how Joe is able to bend notes so smoothly without overtones while keeping it in tune as he goes. If he was a cowboy he would be the fastest gun in the West
