    I was with you when you did your first lesson with the expandable baton about a year ago. I purchased the same one from your link and I was able to get it shipped to me in n.j..I like your technique and how you stress keeping the baton close to your body ; Tight swings . I also like the weight of it ; It's just heavy enough to give my wrists a workout .! And , yes , I am one who uses two hands , much like my Escrima sticks ... Great lesson Sensei ...! I am looking forward to training with you and the Bokken.! Thanks.

    I'm glad you stressed the importance of laws while carrying a Paton most people never think about that and end up in big trouble you should always check your local laws out for all weapons.

    "Absorb what is useful, discard what is useless and add what is specifically your own."
    The way you have said it is also great!

    I’ve learned a lot from your videos and appreciate your work. My question is can you recommend a long reach grabber that I can use when I’m in a wheelchair? I envision something sturdy enough to be able to be used for an extension of my arms. I already use some of them but they are not sturdy enough to reliably carried as a dual use tool. Thanks

    What I wanted to say about the kubotan (or a yawara or a flashlight) is that I feel those self-defense tools which fit in one hand are truly great. They make me feel safer. Also in case self-defense is the only option they are protecting my fingers in case I have to use a fist for self-protection.
    And that is all thanks to your teaching dear Sensei!
    Today I have trained a lot for self-defense with you on your channel. It's helping me a lot with complex ptsd as well.
    🙏
    Best regards.

      I am an anxious person. I took Traditional Okinawan Karate for years and I feel that it helped a lot. It felt like doing the multiple and repetitive kata was resetting and calming my nervous system.
      Maybe this would help you?🤔

    • @AlitaAvenger
      @AlitaAvenger ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kipkaercher3257 thanks for sharing Kip... my cat calms my nervous system tremendously. And training with Matt is a blessing. I generally do not feel at ease with most people except for a doctor who knows me for twenty years. He never made me feel more anxious and is always emphasising on the importance of the quality of surroundings, in other words presence or absence of other people. He said a couple of times that he and I never got issues I have with other humans, which means that external factors are 'the problem'.
      As long as people respect boundaries, it all goes well. Getting involved with humans always bears risks for me in terms of an immense rising of my anxiety levels. So better off training with Matt 😉, and staying at home with my cat😽
      Thanks very much for your concern Kip, and all the best wishes to you as well 🙏

    Très intéressant vidéo, Matt, merci beaucoup. Moi, je préfère également le bâton de marche :). Par contre j'ai également exactement les mêmes bâtons télescopique qui sont d'ailleurs interdits même dans le coffre de la voiture en France et quasiment dans toutes les pays d'europe. Mais je les utilise pour les entraînements car ils pèsent beaucoup plus qu'un bâton de marche:)

    • @pasquinilli

      Why would I do that? I really can’t stand motorcycles to start with. Nothing against bikers themselves. Just seems like a good way to lose a leg or worse. A lot of the aggressive bikers who ride between cars and turn in front of them and drive recklessly turn me off too. I don’t see me being in a biker bar. If I were, I don’t think I would want to fight anyone.
