  • We found over 60 eggs that were uncovered at our day jobs, most were destroyed, but we were able to save many of them. They started hatching and are cute as can be! We also went out with Tobie Afterwards to look for wildlife and found some excellent Florida animals.

    How cool that you took these eggs and cared for them! I found a large mom soft shell turtle truing to cross a 4 lane street with large medium, she would have gotten hit. She had been in a large Sandy open field, surely. Laying eggs. I could not find where she put them. I’m sure the babies will not survive trying to get across to the pond.

      Thanks for Subbing Sandra! Thank you for helping the mom out, sad about her eggs, but at least she will have the potential to lay more eggs and they can lay multiple clutches in a year so likely she has more eggs to go! Since this video we have seen a lot of young softshells around the boats and I always hope they are tye babies we released 💜

  • @southernreptiles9928
    @southernreptiles9928 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Figured they were Florida soft shells or common snappers. Massive wild adult female Florida soft shells and snappers lay monster clutches. More then like a few females all laying the same spot high elevation is what they typically go for. So a mound of fill would be perfect. Cool video!

    • @TobiesTroop
      @TobiesTroop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My guess is a communal nest site. Would have been cool to be a mixture of species tho! Common snappers are one of the only turtle eggs we have not found around here. We did find some freshly hatched ones this year

    Come on, answer the 2 burning questions:
    1. Did the runt make it to the release?
    2. How close did that EDB strike come? It seemed Taylor thought it might have got you, and it made me jump, and I'm in England!
    I love your vids, I can almost, almost smell that part of the world, and miss it terribly. Never smelled Rattlesnake musk though. Keep up the good work, keep the vids coming.
    Oh, I forgot question 3. (You have to say it in a Butthead voice) "When your monkey is naughty, do you spank it?"
    Yeah, yeah, I know, I'll get my coat...

    • @TobiesTroop
      @TobiesTroop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mr M, LOLOL!
      1. Yes runt Make it, super surprised Tay didn't want to keep and raise it. It did grow snd was about the size if fresh harchlings by release. We did have 4 or 5 who did not make it. Who knows why with so many and under those conditions I can't believe how many did make it. I regret not filming incubating and setting up. But we didn't think many would make it being cracked and rolled all over. But sure enough LOL.
      2. It was pretty close but not too close. I really only consider it close when they bump me with their nose or I can feel their breath 😆 🤣
      3..... well nvemd LOL..
      Question!? Could you also almost feel the mosquitos?? They are the worst they have been in YEARS! !!!! One of the next videos I got a clip that should show the craziness LOLOL

    • @TobiesTroop
      @TobiesTroop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well I can see all colors but have trouble telling the difference between some colors.... BUT all 3, scarlet kings, Florida Scarlet and corals snakes actually look completely different. You could paint them all solid bright pink and I could tell the difference. Scale body shape everything is different... ya know whats funny, I learned recently that Taylor doesn't even know the color rhyme or sequence, they just look very different. I can usually even id the difference while driving 60mph when they are crossing roads.
