But sadly you can get parried with also the usage of abilities. You can parry Luke, Yoda, Rey and Maul when they dash (you can’t with Obi-Wan as his ability gives him lightsaber invincibility frames). It’s just way harder to do it if the person is very quick and aggressive, which usually Lukes, Yodas, and Mauls are like. It’s just an easy risk/reward situations if you’re good at it.

One of the funniest things I found out you can do with the parry is that Luke and Dooku with Duelist activated can get into a parryfest where if both opponents are parrying each others attacks, you'll just parry a parry that's been parried to the point no one takes damage and instead completely drain both of your stamina 🤣
Just bait them. Parrying is all about reading your opponents habits and anticipating their attacks. But like starbazaar said in the video, once you start fighting in an unorthodox style, being more unpredictable, it will be harder to anticipate the attacks. In competitive 1vs1 duels it's mostly just a chess match, setting your strategy depending on your character and the opposing character and making moves in response to the player's habits.

I find that what helps me is just attacking first, usually they block the first one and just swing to anticipate your next attack and try and parry it. And this Obi Wan does that a lot too. So just swing once, wait for them to swing and then parry their attempt
I use a strategy where I turn around before dodging backward to hit the opponent in the back. Makes lining up the hit easier because I can swing immediately after the dodge. It also can bait the opponent into letting down their guard at low health.
I love parrying, but I use it sparingly because one, it's so annoying to come across parry spammers, and I know how it feels, plus a good parry isn't everything, I like to mix it up, I only use parry's to get out of sticky situations or if I get an opportunity every once and a while to get in some extra Hits, Loved the video and keep up the great work.
A small thing I like to do with Greivous, is to go after someone with unrelenting advance, & the second the ability is gone, activate claw rush. They'll wait until unrelenting advance is over to make their move, so it catches them off guard when you suddenly go straight to claw rush. It also works if you're playing defensively with a wall behind you
You know you still take damage from abilities right? A lot of greivous users don't realize that, and when I have lowered their health in a duel a lot of times they use their unrelenting advance as a defensive mechanism....and when they do that I just unload my abilities if im using Luke/Obi/Anakin to keep the greivous health from regenerating back up. Ever since they nerfed his OP 2 hit claw rush, greivous has not been that effective when you're going against people that actually knows what they're doing.
Honestly, super aggressive is also how i play grievous and it always works. Αlso, maul is one of the best ones to counter parry spammers like obi and rey just because you can mix your attacks really effectivly. Really entertaining video mate keep it up 👍

Ahsoka Tano 'Snips' if you look at your opponent and they just spam there’s no need to time you just block and spam the attack button,to me I don’t find it very difficult.
Brilliant video here, love all your detail in explaining the moves you're going for and what could work, why something didn't work etc. I think about all the same stuff when duelling; the timing in this game is crucial and I love it :D Getting better at parrying in general helps you survive longer in these type of duels, personally I've found the usual Heroes Vs Villains (4v4) is good. It's chaotic with gunners etc but also very fast paced, meaning you have to parry at the exact moments and finish your enemies quickly before the next ones come in. Later on I'll move to showdown for a calmer battle, but we all have different playstyles :)
I kinda hate the parry system, I was used to just being able to dance around with them using dodges and it’s kinda hard to do now cause if they block one hit they can do a solid blow. I wish it was more reactionary, like pressing block before the hit lands or something
I've found the best counter to the parry glitch is emoting. If you randomly clown on people, in between hits, for long enough they'll eventually make some mistakes.

Wait for them to come out of it and then hit them. Han Solo is more tricky, but everyone else only has 2 dodges. Once they use up both you can hit them. Just be patient, don't rush it
depends on who you are playing. If you're playing Vader try to grip them in one spot and hit them. If you're playing Grievous or Dooku stun them and consistently attack them. If you're playing Maul and they roll back just spin attack towards and try to get behind them.

What I hate about the lightsaber duels in this game is that in big modes the enemy heroes just avoid and dodge attacks. They don't try to parry, they just wait for their team to show up or for you to finally give up on them and search for other targets. They don't want hero fights, they just want to farm the infantry... many people play this so cowardish. That's why i think Dooku is the wirst choice for the separatists in capital suprimacy, he cant really do much when someone is just trying to block and dodge and never attacks you. He also can't clear infantry effectively, which means if one decent infantry interupts the duel, well it's game over for Dooku 😅
What, you want them to risk it? The way Supremacy and GA are designed, if your die as a hero, chances of playing them again are so low. There's so many people with 4000 points waiting to grab the hero you're playing. It's not cowardice, you literally spend more time and are a lot more productive following the objective and chasing after lone soldiers for health regen than you are dueling a jedi in the middle of a battle. You're not a coward for engaging a hero only when you're at an advantage. It's much more foolish to charge in after a hero without any awareness of your surroundings.

Dude that’s a great tip to jumping behind the player while you’re in the middle in the air and strike he’s back to deal damage, I tried this tip many times but a need to learn more about that skill cuz it’s hard sometimes, btw nice video dude that was helpful thank youuuuuuu!!
I'm still getting the hang of it too. It's a pretty circumstantial move, I'm finding out, you cant just don't whenever because its pretty easy to dodge
Remember, ur lightsaber position doesn’t matter, just ur targeting reticle. Every characters jump attack also performs 2 potential hits. Bump ur sensitivity to /at least/ 80 and just keep the targeting reticle on ur target as you jump through them, the first or at least second hit will register. If you can’t make that, there’s another way to hook swing that’s a little less reliable, jumping through an enemy and aiming straight down, then using the jump attack as your character model passes through them.
I used to do that but only because I want to learn the timing of a good parry. You can't be mad at someone just holding the block Waiting for the opportunity. It's like playing smart at its finest since it wasn't taught by the game story. I majority of the time attack first for bait
IMO The worst thing about parrying is double parrying. Single parrying makes sense but you shouldn't ever be able to receive two hits from your enemy for attempting one hit. While I'm blocking, I like to throw out single swings that I know won't hit the enemy but will keep pressure on their block, but it's stupid how I can receive two hits for that and can't do anything about the second hit. The first hit makes sense, but imagine receiving 300 damage from Anakin just for swinging at his block ONCE, WHILE YOU'RE BLOCKING!!

If you wanna be a goat dodger, go and change your ps4 keybinds in the ps menu, make it so your circle is your L3 and your L3 is your square. This way you dont have to take your thumb off of R3 when dogding. And then you can easily counter a parry abuser, if you know what your doing

Love your vids I've learned alot from them greatly to improve my game I respect the duelist game mode being I've studied in Bushido the thing that bothers me the most is even if its new players or old the amount of bigotry in something we all love and cherish which is Star Wars I've Won against exp players and been beaten by non experience players I don't get frustrated about anything because it's not an actual duel in life As I've learned through some matches not all will be the same So for me to Complain about someone winning a different type of way is not that much of a bother I jus change a different approach like you jus shown to others how to deal with certain players I respect that. Usually whenever I'm met with parry spam I just leave the lobby, not interested in blocking for 30 mins only to acquire occasional revenge taps.

I only parry spam when I’m getting swing spammed by either a noob or some sweaty guy.
From my experience when playing Dooku, I like to hook swing the lighting burst to build distance to an opponent that has the advantage.

I just realized unrelenting advance is a parrying machine since when you attack it you wont will get damaged while grivous wont

I only parry when I'm getting jumped or when I just run into a swing spammer
parrying every hit if a swing spammer is the most satisfying thing in this game

The hook swing is something I got to implement into my game I just somehow can’t master it like everyone...
I'm still getting the hang of it too. It's a pretty circumstantial move, I'm finding out, you cant just don't whenever because its pretty easy to dodge
I hook swing everytime I jump it’s like I’m addicted to it 😂
Remember, ur lightsaber position doesn’t matter, just ur targeting reticle. Every characters jump attack also performs 2 potential hits. Bump ur sensitivity to /at least/ 80 and just keep the targeting reticle on ur target as you jump through them, the first or at least second hit will register. If you can’t make that, there’s another way to hook swing that’s a little less reliable, jumping through an enemy and aiming straight down, then using the jump attack as your character model passes through them.

I used to do that but only because I want to learn the timing of a good parry. You can't be mad at someone just holding the block

The hook swing is what i needed! I been having issues witb parry but my dodges are fairly balanced so it's hard to surprise them outright
IMO The worst thing about parrying is double parrying. Single parrying makes sense but you shouldn't ever be able to receive two hits from your enemy for attempting one hit. While I'm blocking, I like to throw out single swings that I know won't hit the enemy but will keep pressure on their block, but it's stupid how I can receive two hits for that and can't do anything about the second hit. The first hit makes sense, but imagine receiving 300 damage from Anakin just for swinging at his block ONCE, WHILE YOU'RE BLOCKING!!
That's because it's a bug and not intended mechanics

You need a hero or villain that has quick swing strikes. Luke, Dooku and Maul have some of the fastest swing mechanics in the game if I’m right

If you wanna be a goat dodger, go and change your ps4 keybinds in the ps menu, make it so your circle is your L3 and your L3 is your square. This way you dont have to take your thumb off of R3 when dogding. And then you can easily counter a parry abuser, if you know what your doing

Love your vids I've learned alot from them greatly to improve my game I respect the duelist game mode being I've studied in Bushido the thing that bothers me the most is even if its new players or old the amount of bigotry in something we all love and cherish which is Star Wars I've Won against exp players and been beaten by non experience players I don't get frustrated about anything because it's not an actual duel in life As I've learned through some matches not all will be the same So for me to Complain about someone winning a different type of way is not that much of a bother I jus change a different approach like you jus shown to others how to deal with certain players I respect that. I wish the rest would realize that aspect instead of complaining and get out there an execute and Compete and no I don't spam I respect and have faith in my skills
