    Thank you "Flipping Physics" this video has helped me to understand a little better on how to tell the difference between static and Kinetic Friction. Also on how to tell when the two change back and forth.

    There are some beautiful people on TH-cam; people who just love teaching and helping others, and wanna do so in the most fun, engaging, and efficient way possible, and use the platform that’ll give them the largest audience. This is one of those people. It’s honestly such an amazing thing, and I among many others are so grateful for their existence.

    You really put a lot of effort into making these videos :) Great job!
    Had a question, since you said Static friction is GREATER or MORE than the force of kinetic friction, but why does Static friction become zero?

    • @FlippingPhysics
      @FlippingPhysics  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +MidnightShadowYT The _Coefficient_ of Static Friction is greater than the _Coefficient_ of Kinetic Friction (for the two same interacting surfaces.) The _Force_ of Static Friction adjusts to attempt to keep the object from moving and can decrease to zero. So the _Force_ of Static Friction can be less than the _Force_ of Kinetic Friction. Be careful to notice the differences between the _Force_ of Friction and the _Coefficient_ of Friction. Make sense?

    You cannot use the vector sign for these forces. They have different directions, therefore the vectors cannot be equal to each other (just their magnitudes).
