I also don’t buy into the ugly phase. People are still associating short hair with ugliness, just like people would say in the short phase of natural hair or the big chop phase. I loved my locs from day one, I started with two strand twist and the twist phase was difficult for me, once my hair began to loc, I loved it, shrinkage and all. Your twist were beautiful and your locs are beautiful and were at every stage.
Exactly. We’ve been conditioned to think this way, that’s why I have to let the people know that there isn’t a such thing as the ugly phase👎🏾❌ I’m glad you’re enjoying your journey, and thank you!🤎
Watching this video and just smiling. I related to every single thing you said. I am glad I can find women that think and feel the same way as me. I did not have an ugly phase either, but when I look back at some starter loc pics I am like "woah that's what my hair looked like?" In the moment I felt so confident and I agree that the journey just keeps getting better and better. I was falling more and more in love with my hair everyday. Yesterday I did my first full retwist on myself and it is cute. It isn't tight, or uncomfortable and I started questioning why when I go to a loctician is it painful. Also I was very light handed on product using a black owned brand and aloe vera gel on some as well. Anyways, I am rambling but love your Locs and that I found your page. Annoyed it took over 2 years to discover your page! But I am here now. Excited to go watch past videos of you!
I was wondering if I should buy some products but realized I don’t really need them. This video confirmed I don’t need what’s unnecessary. Also what shampoo do u use
Yeah products are really unnecessary. The most I would buy is rose water and aloe Vera juice. I don’t use shampoo. I use African Black Soap or Apple Cider Vinegar. Highly recommend the apple cider vinegar, put it in a spray bottle with water
Omg same. Finally said I'll give no oil on my scalp & minimal oil and leave in conditioner on my hair a go and I'm experiencing zero itching and virtually no inflammation. This is my 2nd journey. With the first I thought that amount of rabid itching and scratching was normal.
Im 2 weeks in and i started with comb coils. My hair has shrank so much i have people asking if i cut my hair. 2 weeks ago i did my last silk press and my hair was about waist length. Now its shrinks to my neck.... im not gonna call it ugly but awkward is def the word. Im just ready for my hair to actually loc so i can start getting length.
I'm really anxious to do locs in my head, my hair it's a 4a, I've been trying to like it, but it's so much work to do, I'm with my natural hair only for 2 years, i used to straight my hair since i was kid, now i want something natural n health to my hair!
Same sis! No products! Take off scarf and goooo. We are so free except from dandruff😂😂 or in my case. I retwist every 12 weeks w the loctician. My next goal is to retwist myself. Do you feel like your hair is noticeably heavier? Do you think you would ever comb them out?
Right!😂 Yes my hair is getting so heavy, I really notice it when I wash it and it’s wet😩. No I don’t think I’ll comb them out. If I didn’t want them anymore I would just cut them off I don’t have time to be combing some locs out lmao
I never use products and I lightly shampoo, every other day, with keracare shampoo. I get a retwist every four months, my loctician will use products at that time only. It's been two years.
A couple of my locs were thin and the rest of them were really thick so I just twisted the thin ones with thick ones and let them loc together naturally
@@xo_ramoni thank you so much. That is really what I needed to know. I thank you for your video. lt was very helpful. How often do you shampoo? I always feel ready between 3 and 4 weeks

Finally, someone that boils the tea instead of buying rose water! Thank you. 😅
Yesss! Buying something that you can easily make at home is crazy lol
Patience is my biggest lesson during this journey. I'm enjoying this phase. Entering my 5th month😊😊😊😊😊😊

Yes!🙌🏾 itching is so not normal! A sign of an inflamed scalp. I’m glad it’s gotten better for you!🤎

Nizoral medicated shampoo cured my dandruff/ seborric dermatitis. And using aloe shampoo bars from FreetheRoots.
I never use products and I lightly shampoo, every other day, with keracare shampoo. I get a retwist every four months, my loctician will use products at that time only. It's been two years.
That sounds like the perfect regimen🙌🏾
What made you combine your locs. I have been thinking of doing so to get mine to a size I thought I wanted
A couple of my locs were thin and the rest of them were really thick so I just twisted the thin ones with thick ones and let them loc together naturally
