    It was the opposite with me ,as a man growin up in that era I always wanted them but ofc like every other black kid always had the baldy but when I was a freshman in highschool I started my first set and cut them off because I was impatient,but after that I started my journey again and got bigger parts and I’m 3 years in the current one now

      Thanks for sharing! That's so interesting, you actually got to experience would you liked and what you didn't like which is pretty cool! What inspired you to start again?

    I wouldn’t do wax dye either…that stuff stays in your locs…I use to dye me locs all the time but as I got older I just leave it alone now… my ends are colored and I just freshen it up with semi permanent and that’s it..once it’s fades, it fades… my greys I slap henna on it, wash it out and go…
    I started my locs in 2002 and still have them but I had to cut off all my length because I was messing with it during the pandemic..my roots started to thin and I panicked. Cut it into a bob and let it grow back out, then I always wanted thicker locs and I two strand twisted them, then combined them. I don’t use any products, just my oil mix and I make my own gel with flaxseed. Helped get my locs thick!
    Everyone’s journey will be different but at the end of the day odor me I just got sick of combing my hair and locing it was the best choice for me. Never going back!
    My son had locs when he was younger but I think about 6 or 7 he didn’t want them anymore.. my husband was sad about it but I didn’t want to force him to keep locs if he didn’t want to.

    Literally felt with the dying hair part I was every color of the rainbow when my mom finally put some color into it. I ended up having to start a new set of locks but it was worth it for younger me 😭😭

    Thanks for the video. As an audio geek, may I give an advice? This mic is not supposed to be held so close to the mouth. Place it on front of you and you will sound crystal clear.

    • @trinoftrades

    Hey lovey !!
    I’m on my second set of locs. My first loc set was for 7 months and i started over because my parts were horrible.
    Now with my second set i have diamond parts and started and currently maintain it by a loctician. I’m four months loc going on five.
    My question is when do you think i should start to retwist my own hair??
    I want to fully embrace this journey on my own, I just don’t want to mess up my parts. Any suggestions?

    • @trinoftrades
      @trinoftrades  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hay boo! I think you should watch videos and practice on yourself now, but hold off on the brushing. Practicing will already have you comfortable dealing with your hair which is the ultimate goal. IF anything goes wrong, (I don't think it will) your loctician is still around to help you as I assume you are seeing them regularly :)
