I love minimalist travel. Since I go to the tropics, I only wear my Teva Holliway men’s sandals. I wear a pair of socks with them on the plane, otherwise I’m barefeet in sandals. No socks and shoes. I “ranger roll” my clothes and use compression packing cubes also. Columbia summer weight material long sleeve men’s shirts are a favourite of mine. Button shirts. Ventilation panel, thin, wicking, roll up the sleeves if I want. I’ve moved down to a 21 litre Minaal Daily 3.0, and a 6 litre Osprey cross body sling. I like the Minaal because it has hide away backpack straps when I want to carry it with a single duffle sling. This minimalism does me well even going months at a time in South Asia. And since it’s the tropics….no need for a jacket or cold weather gear. Thank you for the videos. 71 years old this month…. Still traveling and carrying my own. No overpacked “wheelie” luggage, or double back-pack “turtle” backpacking.

Great review as always. For jackets, I've been using a Vans Drill Chore Coat and it's been really well. It even has a hoodie and slight water resistance when you're in a pinch.

Do you get the strap slipping issue with the Venture backpack? I'm doing an international trip soon and have been looking at the Venture or the Apex as my carry-on as, like you mentioned, the versatility is pretty good in not looking too tactical or techy or streetwear inspired.
