My move here was 2 1/2 years in the making , and everyone tried to talk me out of it, but it was my dream and had to make it happen for me, I am finally living my life for me, my only regret was that I didn't do it sooner, I am living my best life, it truly is paradise! I do more here than I did in Chicago. I love being able to go out everyday if I want, instead of being stuck in the house for 7 months out of the year cause it's so freakin cold. It will be a year in September that I moved to Florida, so glad I did.
Im also moving to Florida next year when school is out for my daughter, in also nervous bcuz i dont know no one in Florida, but it's my dream to be close to Disney World, in taking that leap of faith and going. So i feel you.
When I lived in Florida I couldn't find a decent apple. Back in NY I was used to going to the orchard down the road and picking them myself. I made a deal with someone back home. He would send me apples; and I would send him Florida oranges and grapefruits. I'm sure you could find someone back home to send you pickles.
Lol come to Toronto. I used to live 25 miles from my work and most days was 1-2 hours and on some winter days it could take 3-4 hours to go 25 miles! It's all about perspective.
I have a feeling that the whole USA is going to move to Florida and then the sink hole is going to form every where because the state can't take too many people.🌴⚫🌞⚡☔🌈😇😂😂
Great list, gotta try those pickles lol! So glad you didn't have heat on here because I think that's another "bad rap" Florida gets. We have humidity yes, but ever spend a summer in NC, 3 hours inland? Brutal. At least we got ocean breezes! And NO ONE can beat our winters.
You two are a good couple together. And I want to say thank you for sharing all you do with us. I know it’s been helpful for me as I begin planning my journey for the big move ❤️
I was born in Ohio and my parents took us to FL every Christmas it was so nice. I like the warmer winters! My bones love it! Ive heard food is higher in FL. Thanks for another video!
The family was a tough one for me too at first being from Illinois, but the longer you are here, the easier it will get. Glad you guys are enjoying the Florida lifestyle. I know am, and the 12 years I've been here have seemed to fly by✌️
Thanks for a great video and being phenomenal. I moved from NYC to Florida, near St. Augustine, 6 years ago and I’m still trying to get used to it. Floridians are nicer (especially compared to NYers) and the weather is a lot better, but I miss having a steady job (I’m a clerical worker) with a decent salary. I also miss not driving or not having a car. Try and find a parking space in Manhattan, especially a free one, so they have a great mass transit system, which Florida (at least in my area) does not have any. I actually tried going back, but unfortunately it’s highly unaffordable now. Well anyway, thanks again for being phenomenal
Love the video! We are currently in Missouri, my wife and I and 5 young ins’. We just spent 10 days in the Venice / Sarasota area. We almost moved to Florida 5 years ago and got cold feet after renting a house in Bradenton. Our trip this month was the first time any of us had physically been to FL. We fell in love and the regret was heavy that we didn’t move 5 yrs ago. Now here we are, wanting to Love to FL. We are back home in Missouri but it feels like we’ve been roped away from “home!” All of this is not without its fears. We have two girls in 6th grade, a high school senior, and an 8th grade boy. We also have my oldest son who is disabled. Florida feels right. I’ve been inissoiri my entire life. I suffer from seasonal depression that seems to get worse every year and my wife and I both have ptsd. Long story! We are good otherwise lol. So we are ready to take the plunge and move. We know life is short and you only live once, we know this is truly what we want to do yet the fear is real. I guess it’s the fear of the unknown, the fear that the new will wear off and we will be stuck. I’m not sure. 5 years ago my wife allowed her parents to slam the brakes on our move and the resentment has intensified so much. I’m 47, I’ll be 48 in a September and I really want this. My kids want it. Like anything, there are negatives and positives, in our case the positives far outweighs the negatives. Long story short, we find ourselves again looking for a place in FL. We have been searching the Venice, Nokomis, Bradenton & Sarasota areas. We may have to do a long term rental to get our foot in the door and house hunting on line is not my cup of tea. There are 7 of us and although everyone wants their own room, I don’t think that’s going to be possible for our budget down there. We may have to make a 3 bedroom work for A while. I think it would be worth it.
Hope you find the happiness you are looking for. I recall reading a lot of comments by people who find that their depression reduces considerably when they are in Florida. Hopefully Florida works miracles for the two of you and your kids as well. No relocation will be totally smooth as nostalgia is a normal emotion for all humans - the craving to be back home with relatives and friends that we leave behind. But many have done the move to Florida to realize their dream. Just feel fortunate that the US has a state like Florida with warm tropical climate, palms, beaches, wide clean roads, year round sunshine - which makes this decision possible. Like you said it is better to make this change now while we still can, and we only live once. The trick is to make a decision, and follow through with it.
We’re moving to Haines City in one week. Your number ten really hit me because we don’t get to say goodbye to anyone. We’ve all been in quarantine since March and it’s really hard to up and leave without hugging all our family and friends one last time.
Hi guys! You guys are awesome! I am Eric. I tuned in last night and commented about having family in Ormond Beach area. I’m really hoping to move down there with my family in the next year or so and I really can appreciate the videos you make. So, thanks!
From Iowa and family is spread out, Florida is on my bucket list to move to. It is our go to and favorite place to visit yearly if we have time. The one thing we would miss would be the Beef! The steaks really do taste different anywhere but the midwest! When the move comes I will just continue to buy a half or full cow at a time I think and drive it down. Your videos make me want to make the move now but my husband is the one not ready.
Wawa is one of my favorites. I love Wawa coffee. We are in Delaware. Pennsylvania is where they started. I was so excited when Wawa started building in Florida. We have Wawa’s and Royal Farms as our main places for gas and convenient items. I haven’t seen a Royal Farms in Florida yet, but while we were there we did enjoy Race Track.
Really enjoy catching up with your videos. Currently selling everything I own/ purging in preparation for my family move to FL in August. The intention is to travel with just clothes. I've also started the medical forms for the school application. Hoping to sign a lease and make the transition smooth as I'm coming with my 2 boys (6rs & 13yrs).
Love this video! To answer your question - the biggest fear we have is the 💰 our salaries will take a hit and that’s something we are trying to figure out before we 100% commit. Love your videos ✨
Great video for providing me with some things to consider. My wife and 2 adult girls are planning on moving to FL from NJ. NJ gets a far worse rap than the "Florida Man" - armpit of the country, all liberals, rude stereotyped people, etc., etc. The main push for the move is the high taxes (certainly can't afford to retire here with a mortgage). My parents have both passed, and I don't have any family on my side. It is my wife that will have it most difficult, with both elderly parents still with us. She realizes that we are getting older and need to do this...life has been a financial struggle where we need to downsize. I say I will be fine selling the house, lived here all my life but it will certainly be bittersweet as it was a financial "boat anchor" for my parents, now me.
You guys I started watching you, thank you so much! You seem so down to earth I love. We're thinking about moving to FL in one year and will be listening to more of your videos.
Thank you for sharing what to look forward to when i move to Davenport, and what kind of animals are out running around in Florida? Im coming from Dallas Tx so traffic wont be no surprise for me, and i think what going to be hard for me will be finding my new home, and driving that big Uhaul pulling my car, im not ready for that. But im super excited to move.
All sorts of animals here! Alligators, snakes, etc.! But don’t let that discourage you. As long as you leave them alone they will do the same. Erik will have his Realtor License in A couple of weeks, so we could help you with the home search! You will love Florida!
I love your videos! I am a college student hoping to move to Florida once I graduate. I love hearing all the positive things and watching your videos knowing you guys enjoy living there!
We are thinking about moving to Florida but have no idea where to even start what’s going to be hard is starting over and not being able to not make new friends and feeling alone more bc we left everything behind to get a new start to not get the new start if that makes sense
Start by doing research. Join our Facebook group. Ask questions. Narrow down your target area. Finding friends will be the easy part! MOST people you will come across in Florida were transplants at some point. They have all been through the same process as you. Having this in common makes it easy!
I'm so glad I Found you guys. I'm so scared and lost lol I'm from NYC and I'm planning to move to Florida and it is scary to me I have lived in NYC All my life so it's all new to me. But I'm ready for my fresh start.
Hi! Another great video by you two and I just shared this video to Facebook because I 100% agree with what you both went over; especially since I moved to FL too.
Hey you guys cut your intro Short what gives!!! Nice video 👍 I like how you said you'll have a lot of firsts when moving.. first Christmas first Halloween all that.. keep up the good videos. Hope all is well
The Davenport area is especially bad for traffic. You guys are from Wisconsin, so of course traffic seems pretty bad. It’s relative to what you are used to. . I moved here from LA, Orlando is a breeze for me.
Hey thanks for your videos, very informative, we’re from Minnesota, Love Minnesota and love vacationing in Florida and we have talked/looked into moving Florida, but are unsure, it’s nice to hear about your experiences...
After 25 years in Las Vegas, I’m ready for a change. Won’t know where we’ll be living til hubby gets his physician license, then a job offer. That’ll dictate where we will live. Larry Nelson yeah I moved back to Danville from Bloomington and it’s time to go. I’m trying by next fall but I’m making sure I take care of housing and finances before going there. School and work will come later
@@FloridaWithFive we stayed at hotel in Orlando once and would sit on balcony at night an watch accidents at the intersection lol. I'm planning on moving down towards the keys this time next year from Michigan
Not exactly, at least not in Jacksonville. They exist in Jax but it's mainly on the sothern portion of the city. I don't think they exist at all in the panhandle.

I lived in Florida for 15 years i want to move back there
Our timeline for moving was this summer. Now with the pandemic we are not sure if that is possible. Our youngest daughter and her husband live there already so we have our location figured out. I can honestly say, I only hear very positive things about Floridians. Order your pickles from Amazon...will be at your home in 2-4 days.

Well said! It is extremely hard to say goodbye! Have you been able to make any trips back to visit family?
Have you tried Mr. Pickle from the Winter Garden farmers market?
Ill be moving from Puerto Rico and I can’t wait. It is a good time for moving over there even with the pandemic?
Love you guys! I’m worried about the heat in the summer. How do you guys cope?
Thanks Veronica! We have really gotten used to the Florida heat/humidity in the time that we have lived here.
U never get used it. I am golf manager yes it gets hot. Our a/c stays at 70 electric bill never above 140 in 35 yrs. And we don't have to shovei global warming
The hardest thing for us will be making my daughter who is a junior in high school leave to finish high school in Florida. Of course she wants to go to University of Florida so moving to Florida would help her financially with that. The other hard things would be missing friends and family. Outside of that I will be thrilled to be in Florida.
Most definitely.
Spotted cow? Noooo, we gonna miss the Michelob Golden Light 😂😂
Thank you for this video We live in Buffalo NY and we want to move to Orlando Florida .We also want to be close to the magic .But me and my husband we would need jobs I. Can you do a video on like the top 5 or 10 best parts of Florida where there’s barley no tourist !
Florida With Five awesome ! I’m moving to Florida when I finish middle school which will be in a year and a half ! 💗
Is it really THAT easy to tell the difference between locals and tourists?

Is there a wawa every .02 mile in Florida like NJ?
Not exactly, at least not in Jacksonville. They exist in Jax but it's mainly on the sothern portion of the city. I don't think they exist at all in the panhandle.
