- Hello everyone and welcome back to another video on the channel. The first of 2024!
I hope everyone reading this had a fantastic holiday and newyear period!
As I mention in the video, I really wish I had more content that could have been uploaded to the channel by now. I thought I would make this video today to explain what happened and to raise awareness for anyone who could be faced with a similar situation in the future.
i'll be working hard over the next few weeks and months to bring more videos to this channel so please consider subscribing if you're interested to see whats next.
I have lived in Thailand for 20 years+ and a fab place to visit, but one word of advice to all first time visitors. Do NOT hire a motorbike. The accident death rate here is in the top 2 in the world. Public transport is cheap, so us it and have a great holiday. Love the vids BTW 😁
It is normal practice to get your wounds cleaned everyday in Thailand because of infection caused by the heat and bacteria , take care and keep doing your videos 👍🙏.
Sorry to hear about your accident, as you said life is for learning.
I remember you got injured last time and couldn't drive. This time it looks a bit terrible but you always smile. Get well soon my friend.
New subscriber 🎉
In Thailand 2 rules.
Rule 1 never hire a motorcycle.
Rule 2 . Remember rule 1 . Glad you ok some not as lucky as you
I know it's hot there but wear a proper skid lid, you only get away with such an accident once if you're lucky. It's all great fun until it's not. Thailand is a fantastic country but so many farangs get themselves in a whole lot of trouble because they throw common sense out the window. You got away lightly, be thankful for a lesson learned the easy way.
Happens all too often mate, stay safe.
❤❤❤
get well soon stay enjoying
Never mind son, you live n learn, gws and stay safe, hope its not put you off travelling. Looks nasty, 30 years on n off in SEAsia, never done the bikes 😊
Cheers pal, deffo not put me off 👍🏻
Those scares on your leg are called Thai Tattoo's from Frang's who come off motor bikes Ha Ha Ha
A bit worried when you said your hat blew off - most Australian travel insurers charge you extra if you want to ride a motorbike in Thailand and many insist you wear a helmet - if you don't you can invalidate your travel insurance that can end up very expensive. Worse you can die - you don't see that many of the thousands of Thai motorcycle riders in Bangkok without a helmet - even if their passengers are not so careful. Strongly recommend it next time you are there.
100% it was a massive error on my end and a big wake up call as I mentioned! Thanks for your comment bud
Did you have travel insurance?
Yeah mate. All been paid out already aswell 🙌🏼
@@Bates_Tube Ah happy days. Because I fell out of a Tuk-Tuk in Bangkok last year and broke three ribs. Insurance is a must, it's only €60 quid but can save a lot of agro.
@@gsd8225 100% learnt that this time round!! Aslong as you have the receipts it’s all good
You were lucky with the insurance - more and more companies are adding exclusions unless you advise in advance.
As for daily redressing. They are wise because infection complications are much more likely in warm climate. Get an infection and you are in all sorts of grief.
Glad you came through it.
Mate just catching up with your videos sorry to say had a giggle when you said your hat came off in the wind and u tried to catch it looks a painful lesson as you touched on it yes the hospital will milk you for every bht they can get out your insurance company your just a ATM too them when you go back and if you rent again do what I do ask for the beat up bike never new I've dropped many a bike there but you carnt tell
