Good on you getting out and exploring Europe, I’m a veteran having now seen 111 countries, all airlines will hit you for excess weight especially the low cost carriers, Ryanair provide a great service you get what you pay for and you pay for what you get wrong.
Ryanair do not weigh your small under the seat in front of you bag so put as much heavy stuff in there as u can.
