That "poem" was the words to the song Money, and that teacher told Rodger that he would never amount to anything. I remember when Money first came out (I'm 62) in the US. It did very well. Their most iconic record is Dark Side of the Moon, but my favorite is Wish You Were Here.
Well... Of course not, Waters wrote the lyrics in the 70s, it's a fiction in the movie, when Waters was the age of Pinky, there were no "learjets" for rich people yet, neither a big fuzz with "football team", as TV was barely appearing. And the lyrics are "too mature" and fit with the rest to recognize it's Roger's adult while writing for Dark Side.
Love the reaction, but to appreciate Pink Floyd is to listen to an album in its entirety! It's absolutely essential. In this case "The Wall". Either the movie or album. It will take you on an emotional rollercoaster of the soul. Then, and only then will you "get it" . It'll be the best musical experience of your life. Enjoy 🙂
yeah. everyone know just this one. "we don't need no education" yeah ! then you watch the movie, and you realize what the song really is saying, what it's really about. And then you get the rest of the movie and the hammer comes crashing down on you and you come out crushed by it, with the last "is there anybody out there?" resounding in your ears as you sit there processing what happened to you.

This Song Make Me A Fan Of Pink Floyd
Hey you - Pink Floyd
I remember when this song premiered, it was a big part of that days Today Show.
So now you have context, lol. You really need to dive into more Pink Floyd, Also this is the kind of environment British school children had to deal with in post World War II Britain
I really do need to.
And that was a shame :/
@@GiddyKitty This type of music is unlike the vast majority of pop music. Pop lyrics are typically superficial... not very deep. It's kinda like a painting. It not just for listening.. its an experience and usually requires examination. But once you're able to comprehend it... all other forms of art will seem boring and redundant. I know that not all people experience music the same way.
Well, without the wearing masks and the being forced into meat grinders bit, that is...
Welcome to real music.Pink Floyd made a name for themselves dealing with touchy subjects like the horrors of war and mental illness.Their original lead singer fried his brain on drugs and a lot of Floyd songs deal with that
Try "Comfortably Numb" Live at Pulse 1994. It's from the same album and has, what is arguably, the best guitar solo ever performed. I saw the tour in Syracuse, NY and was absolutely blown away.
Does anyone else think of Soylent Green when they watch this music video?
The children are English and the school teacher is Scottish.
Hi what’s it like living in Lebanon?
