I read seneca when I was ending up in the emergency room repeatedly last year and then when I was hospitalized and came close to death one night. Went in for one surgery, kept bleeding, ended up with 4. Stoicism is powerful stuff. I recommend stoicism, buddhism, taoism, vicktor frankyl....I've also sold everything I've owned twice to take off to india when i was extremely underweight and desperate for a health solution. I used ayurveda. I found new purpose. You can find yourself in a very different situation. That a lesson seneca talks about.
I've been there giddy. Just know that you're strong, and you are capable, and you are a worthwhile person that deserves to be happy. A wonderful kind soul. And if I may give you some of the things that helped me I'd say that maybe you should eat some fish or maybe even some liver, fish has a lot of omega 3 and it can make you feel a little better from my experience. Liver has A LOT of B vitamins, I think these will perk you up as well

This is why so many are disaffected, then easily swayed by a 'populist' message by a neofascistic demagogue. Not that the alternative party offers much more than the status quo as they are run by an oligarchy and a vision of sustaining the post WWII hegemony that fuels their power and wealth. As UK MP Tony Benn said, "Choice depends on the freedom to choose and if you are shackled with debt you don't have the freedom to choose." "People in debt become hopeless and hopeless people don't vote." "Keeping people hopeless and pessimistic - see I think there are two ways in which people are controlled - first of all frighten people and secondly demoralize them. I hope for the 'best' or least worst outcome for the election, I see one outcome that may well be the author of humanities epitaph as we won't be able to undo the damage before the global crises tipping points are irredeemable. The other outcome may be responsive to grassroots activism, even if reluctant due to the massive lobbying groups and entrenched policy makers who are either using outdated visions of 'national interests' or are believers in the cult of 'Greater Israel.' Most Americans may think Biden means what he says or is involved in what is happening, I think he ceded most decision making long ago to the likes of Brett McGurk and Amos Hochstein. Hochstein, born in Israel to Jewish parents and a former member of the IDF is supposedly 'negotiating,' but is in fact dictating terms of surrender to the Lebanese government. The goal is to turn Lebanon into an non-state territory policed by Israel, just as Gaza was. Just like Northern Gaza, the IOF will try to destroy most of southern Lebanon to the Litani River as the 'first bite' of territory for the 'Greater Israel.' I imagine provocations would allow them to 'Mow The Lawn' in Lebanon while Gaza and perhaps the West Bank are 'burnt grass' and fully annexed. At least this is the 'General's Plan,' I don't think this is sustainable, the US can't empty its stockpile just for the IDF, it has already cost support for Ukraine, and the DOD is concerned about capacity for any wars it would have to fight itself with depleted munitions, the timeframe for ramping up production and replacements is not months, but years. Israel can not sustain the cost economically, and the US can't foot the bill to prop them up, not without considerable political cost at home. Just one hurricane in Florida did $50B in damages that will take years to repair. More than that has been spent on direct and indirect support of Israel's madness with no end in sight. Yet I don't see a quick or less brutal end to this, 70% of Israelis are mostly supportive, which is depressing, here there is a major difference in support by youth vs. older generations. I wish I was more hopeful that eyes would be opened and changes in policy demanded by more people. The problem is as I said 2/3rds are 'checked out' for reasons Tony Benn stated. I do my best to keep informed and raise my voice where I can, all I can hope for is that at some point it proves Margaret Mead's quote true: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." Glad you're safe! You should come to the US! Being a veterinarian you should be able to find work. There are a lack of veterinarians who are cat skilled in my area. Most of them are for mainly for livestock! I'm praying for you in this ordeal!

Went in for one surgery, kept bleeding, ended up with 4. Stoicism is powerful stuff. I recommend stoicism, buddhism, taoism, vicktor frankyl....I've also sold everything I've owned twice to take off to india when i was extremely underweight and desperate for a health solution. I used ayurveda. I found new purpose. You can find yourself in a very different situation. That a lesson seneca talks about.

I've been there giddy. Just know that you're strong, and you are capable, and you are a worthwhile person that deserves to be happy. A wonderful kind soul. And if I may give you some of the things that helped me I'd say that maybe you should eat some fish or maybe even some liver, fish has a lot of omega 3 and it can make you feel a little better from my experience. Liver has A LOT of B vitamins, I think these will perk you up as well

I'm very familiar with that feeling of no motivation to do anything, or feeling any joy in anything, it's very crippling to do anything besides eating and using the restroom. It's awful you're experiencing that. All I can offer is that you are not alone and heard in your struggles.
When it comes to faith in humanity, that's basically impossible when the world is controlled under the boot of imperial interest. If we want a humanity worth having faith in, We'll have to abolish the current world order of imperialism in its entirety, and rebuild a world order based on serving the common good and a true application of universal rights, instead of a "slanted balance of power" or "imperial interest" like in the current system. The current structure of humanity is really shitty, but that hope for a better future for humanity is the only thing worth fighting for.

Rana, I live in the United States of Alternate-Reality, I can no longer watch any MSM, I mostly watch the likes of Al Jazeera English, Democracy Now!, Zeteo - Mehdi Hasan, The Majority Report, Colonial Outcasts, read some substacks from journalists like Ryan Grim and Jeremy Scahill.
There is a reason 2/3rds of the US lives paycheck to paycheck, most without the social support and benefits to adequately take care of healthcare, childcare, elder care, education, food, housing, etc.
Even those who are 'managing' are tuned out of most world and national events, only coping by paying attention to their own circle of friends, family, coworkers, and community.
This is why so many are disaffected, then easily swayed by a 'populist' message by a neofascistic demagogue.
Not that the alternative party offers much more than the status quo as they are run by an oligarchy and a vision of sustaining the post WWII hegemony that fuels their power and wealth.

I hope despite the laws that even criminalize protests, even to the point of using charges of 'domestic terrorism,' the university students and professors keep challenging the suppression of their voices and activism. It has always been the vanguard of change here.
The '30 Days' to improve conditions in Gaza, allow humanitarian aid etc. is a political move to get past the elections to appease voters who are concerned and may sit out the election, maybe allow them enough hope not to do so.
I hope for the 'best' or least worst outcome for the election, I see one outcome that may well be the author of humanities epitaph as we won't be able to undo the damage before the global crises tipping points are irredeemable.
The other outcome may be responsive to grassroots activism, even if reluctant due to the massive lobbying groups and entrenched policy makers who are either using outdated visions of 'national interests' or are believers in the cult of 'Greater Israel.'
Most Americans may think Biden means what he says or is involved in what is happening, I think he ceded most decision making long ago to the likes of Brett McGurk and Amos Hochstein. Hochstein, born in Israel to Jewish parents and a former member of the IDF is supposedly 'negotiating,' but is in fact dictating terms of surrender to the Lebanese government.
The goal is to turn Lebanon into an non-state territory policed by Israel, just as Gaza was. Just like Northern Gaza, the IOF will try to destroy most of southern Lebanon to the Litani River as the 'first bite' of territory for the 'Greater Israel.' I imagine provocations would allow them to 'Mow The Lawn' in Lebanon while Gaza and perhaps the West Bank are 'burnt grass' and fully annexed.
At least this is the 'General's Plan,' I don't think this is sustainable, the US can't empty its stockpile just for the IDF, it has already cost support for Ukraine, and the DOD is concerned about capacity for any wars it would have to fight itself with depleted munitions, the timeframe for ramping up production and replacements is not months, but years.
Israel can not sustain the cost economically, and the US can't foot the bill to prop them up, not without considerable political cost at home. Just one hurricane in Florida did $50B in damages that will take years to repair. More than that has been spent on direct and indirect support of Israel's madness with no end in sight.
Yet I don't see a quick or less brutal end to this, 70% of Israelis are mostly supportive, which is depressing, here there is a major difference in support by youth vs. older generations.
I wish I was more hopeful that eyes would be opened and changes in policy demanded by more people. The problem is as I said 2/3rds are 'checked out' for reasons Tony Benn stated.
I do my best to keep informed and raise my voice where I can, all I can hope for is that at some point it proves Margaret Mead's quote true: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

@@triplett3 She's healthy in terms she has 2 arms, legs and eyes, but as she pointed out serveral times in the video, she is struggling mentally and mental health is just as important as physical health, so in that regard she is not 'healthy'
