I had a keyboard like that with trackpad. Due to the metal backing, it would stick to the magnetic flap on my iPad case. It’s about the exact same footprint as an 11 inch iPad Pro or iPad Air. And though it’s not a dream to type on by any means, and the trackpad was a little fidgety, it was the lightest weight and cheapest option for having a keyboard and trackpad with my iPad at all times.
Why didn't you ask for your money back though? I mean, I got my money back for the two times something like this happened to me (over years of buying online).
Have you ever tried to return anything on Ali, though? They'd probably charge $40+ for shipping LOL. It's a scam/joke. Even in the event that you DO go through with it and send the item back... now all you're left with is a bad memory. Your money is gone. Period. Ali doesn't care about laowai. (Foreigners) You have no rights in China, quite literally. They do not respect international laws, only their own, which only give rights to Chinese citizens. What they are doing is technically not illegal... in China. It's why there is a common saying you'll hear a lot in China, regarding business with foreigners, that translates as "If you can cheat, cheat." A principle of taking advantage/abusing anyone you want to, as your government has declared it patriotic to bring their money into their country, regardless of how it gets there. so long as you ONLY harm non-foreign victims.
Dude.. .it's a scam if it's misleading.. it doesn't matter the price.. yes we know it's not the specs listed.. but that's also misleading... Hence a "SCAM".. don't sugar coat the fact that these people scam others to make money! .. and it's false advertising .. hence Illegal
Knew what it was at 0:40. There are many listings where they also sell a cheap accessory within the options/size/color so its frontpage listing can show a much lower price, but they usually stress in the description that said option does not actually include the item (possibly to dodge bad reviews or perhaps in response to them) and if the actual item "runs out", it doesn't get removed, just disabled.
I know on AliExpress that some sellers will "sneak in" something into the description. It may show a laptop, but you are actually purchasing an 8GB thumb drive for example.
Yes, I just saw that, a seller showing a laptop and describing a laptop but then in small print it sneaks in the words "keyboard membrane" and a user posted that he didn't get a laptop (DUH, really?, he expected a laptop for $16.78?) but instead got an overpriced keyboard membrane protector to lay over a laptop keyboard. How Aliexpress doesn't catch this upon first insertion by the seller is unacceptable with so many stupid people in the world thinking they are getting a new laptop for under $20. I swear I need to start selling the Brooklyn bridge on Aliexpress for $9.99
Idk hat you call the type of scam, but they send you something other than what was advertised because they know the amount of money is not worth your time returning it to the post office
If you look at the visual description at 0:30 ish it says "Original Keyboard", which is what you got! So, not really a scam, just be more careful with the selection of 'Colour' or item
We thought that’s but in the original description that wasn’t a button, yet each “color” described different ram/storage sized and the rest of the description was about a laptop
It is a scam. I saw one of this super cheap laptop deals on Aliexpress and yeah in color it says Laptop keyboard, but it is the only option. You can`t select a laptop, it is meant to scam you to buy product you don`t need.
This is a good question. Yes, I knew I would get the keyboard and yes people could (and are) saying "well you should expect it" ....but to an average consumer when a seller states all these specs, had an image of a laptop, and has a laptop in the title ....you could, and should expect laptop. More reason I have little respect for Ali Express as a retailer.
I saw $20 laptops yesterday and had to find videos on this
Great, now I'm going to have to resort to eBay for a $16 laptop of also dubious quality and functionality... (wait, I already do that)
Yes but this is a nice international fling!
Sheet metal is there for magnetic tablet case, so keyboard holds
It would've be hilarious if it was just a notebook that has windows 10 written in the first page.
I would have enjoyed that more.

What "did not go as expected"? You knew you were going to get something that was not a laptop. You did not get a laptop. WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE?!?!?!?
You can get a full refund because is not as discribed !
Enjoy your new "I'm not upset" keyboard... be sure to use it only when responding to emails where you aren't 100% upset! :P
Also useful for TH-cam Comments…😂
So if you buy the crappy Bluetooth keyboard listing, perhaps they’ll send you the laptop?
Worth a try
Why didn't you ask for your money back though?

I might ask, but it is nice to have an extra one around lol

Unfortunately it can't boot...
You bought "original keyboard"
Thanks, I Would buy just for curiosity.
It would be freaky if you opened up the keyboard and it had one of those Soviet IBM keyloggers on it.
🤣
I was expecting you to get a picture of a laptop
I think I would have liked that more….
WoW thats it I guess it could have been worst Mike
Did you read the 2 pictures for the laptop one is the laptop one is the keyboard
that does not look like a $20 keyboard... you an get a logitech k400 for about $25

Spare no expense!
I didn’t want to brag lol
Im surprised there arnt a lot more "Chromebooks" where they just stuff a phone into a case with screen and cheap keyboard.
who could've guessed!? 😂
It literally say keyboard only. Why you complain so much. Read before buy

0:32 man look, you can see it, 'Original keyboard'
Hah! Well, what can ya do!
Buy more of ‘em and keep reporting lol
There are a bunch more of these when I looked this afternoon
I saw….slightly disturbing
lol its literally the one i see i just poped over to check out what people are saying.
So, how is Aliexpress allowing them to get away with it?

Sweet laptop bro!
Only the finest equipment for me.
So let scammers win…
