I like taking other exercises, like dumbell shrugs for example and turn them into a core stability exercise by performing them unilaterally it really forces you to brace the opposite side. I have tried the Big three daily but find it triggers my back pain. I also get bored with then so I also incorporate dead bugs and find that I like 45 degree side bends, stir the pot, ghd sit ups, standing cable sit ups, upper cable straight arm press downs while marching. I own a reverse hyper and it will jack up my back badly alot if the time. The best way I found to do them was light so that I can use control, slight pause at the bottom, little to no momentum. It's not a cure all for back pain for sure!

You're likely not doing the big 3 correctly. Just my experience as 99% of people I work with are doing them wrong.. I don't know anything bout your injury, so I can't comment further. But, if you can do the things you named, I'd bet you can do them with better form and tuning with zero pain.

Hi, so if i'm training PPL bodybuilding style workout M W F should i do big 3 even after Pull day let's say? Wouldn't be to much to recover from? I allways do them before my each workout session and having good results with it. Thanks !

It will be different for everyone! Do what you know you can recover from and stay healthy. You can try doing it - but if it becomes too much, revert back. I can’t say for sure as it’s different for everyone.

Not sure if it’s the same question but I was wondering how many times a day he does it? I’ve been doing them every morning and walking 3 times a day and I don’t want to jinx myself but I’ve been having way less back pain lately and life is starting to feel livable again haha
