- Learn to host a website in google drive with your custom domain for free, and save hundreds of dollars per year in web hosting.
Atention: This method requires you to give a third party to access to your Google Drive account. To stay safe, create a new Google Drive account only for the purpose of hosting your website files, and dont use it for your personal files.
To use this method safely, please create a brand new Google Drive account, and use it to host your website files only, nothing else. Then share the Drive folder with your preferred google drive account for easier access to your website files.

Instead of using this method... You can use Netlify, which is offering you to deploy static sites for free, you can also map your domain to netlify site...

well google do have something called google sites that supports domains and is free also you have github and gitlab pages
we can try heroku, firebase, and github as well not just gdrive

I see a lot of people commenting saying not to use this method because it’s slow, but I feel like it would be good for some purposes. For example, I want to practice coding by creating a few very simple interactive art pieces. I don’t want to pay for web hosting for some simple art projects, and don’t need them to be professional websites, but it would be fun to have them available online to show people. Just saying, it could be super useful to some of us 🤷🏻♀️

Also why not use this one if it is for a personal project and Google Drive is something many people (including myself) are already both comfortable and familiar with? As stated in my original comment, this is a good resource for those who are not building a professional website, but just want to experiment and practice some other coding techniques while being able to share it with family and friends. Like everything in life, the value of this resource is dependent on the goals you have with using it. Some people may not have the goal of building a full fledged website or learning web design, just hosting a small project for fun.

Could it work with cgi scripts? Usually I need to make config changes and permission changes. Cgi scripts is for dynamic changes on my site and client access them through http requests.

As a developer I never recommend this to anyone. Please don’t fall for this. A website means like your home. Has your own address. This is like you rent someone else’s place. Better use social media rather than wasting your time for this.

For static websites, you can use firebase hosting owned by Google or github pages owned by Microsoft. You don't have to rely on third party app.

That will get full access to your Google Drive account. Use Google Sites, Blogspot, Github Pages etc if you want a free hosting.

www is a subdomain. Just dow the process again, but with www replaced with your subdomain. Thiojoe's video on www will help you understand that www is a subdomain.

If you're trying to host a professional website with cart and all th bells and whistles. This wouldn't be a smart move. Especially with customers data. We give to much info anyway. Be smart about what your doing.
It won`t be customers DATA involved, there is NOT database (such word press or other type of platforms that require SQL, at least) this is only for static website (made on HTML) and NOT logging registration required. I would not do that, i prefer to use XAMMP instead and make my own security.

@@rayancoo6350 the people behind that site gets full access to your google drive. So if you have private info like passwords, family pictures etc they can view them or even download and delete them from your google drive. Afterwards they can demand money for giving them back to you. Never ever give someone accesd to your account (view or edit)
You can simply use a new google drive account, so no personal data exposed.
