- In this video i show you how to add apple carplay and android auto to your 2004-2018 Honda odyssey. this is a much needed upgrade and honestly its more difficult because they don't let you just change out the radio. so instead i show you how to use navtool which is a good company. make a easy to use and install product. follow along and hopefully it will help you out. Nope they send you everything you’ll need. I agree I have no idea why they didn’t make a video like this themselves, but their support isn’t that great. But it was for a customer. with regards to the final fix you had mentioned, I see that essentially, we don't have to unplug the top screen cable, right? because you are using that same gray wire which connects back to the top screen to connect the middle plug of Navtool unit, right?

When you were putting it back together, where did you place the navtool unit? There looks to be room over the radio, but I have seen instructions that suggest not to attach to metal.

I love Apple carplay
If you pick the wrong software, can you wipe the NAVTOOL and start over? We have the 2 screens without navigation and touchscreen, but it looks a LOT like your van, so I'm hoping it's the correct one...
Yes you can install the other one over it and it’ll take. I picked the wrong one on the first go. This one didn’t have touch or nav but It still took the same as I showed in the video. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

Hello. I received a seperate button with my kit for a 2012 Honda Odyssey (without nav and DVD), it looks as if it can fit in a cup holder. Did you receive this button also? which button/wheel is used to navigate to diff apps on the car play screen? thanks for the video.

When using this for car play, is there a lag in the audio like there is on the stock bluetooth system?
To be honest I’m not sure. I just installed this for someone else. I didn’t notice any lag when testing it. Thanks for watching!
I would say most likely there still is. It would be due to the Bluetooth module not being a more up to date one with better data transfer.
Do you recommend any other brand? I saw a Boss brand, at Walmart, and I have a 2012.
That’s the problem with these is you can’t really install a aftermarket radio. No one makes kits for them. I would usually recommend pioneer radios. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

Another question, am I wrong or does the page say that it is worth 599? are they dollars?
Yes it’s extremely expensive. But, there’s no way I’ve found to do a regular after market radio on this vehicle. Same with a dodge van. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

The NavTool instructions that he corrects (that extra wire going into the lower radio rather than the upper screen at the 9 min mark) fixed my issue with the reverse camera. Thank you! 9:01

steering wheel controls working?
Steering wheel controls still work. But, I can’t remember if they also work while in apple car play (like track up and down. Volume works fine). But you can always contact them before buying and ask them. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
