    IMPORTANT SAFETY UPDATE: I strongly advise against using the glasses the laser comes with, invest in some proper eye safety from lasersafety.com/
    In this tutorial find out how to make faux lace cut-outs using a diode laser!
    I use the Fox Alien Reizer Laser Engraver 20w, www.foxalien.c...
    It has enough power to cut/engrave most materials (including foam!) & this bundle comes with the Lightburn software.

    I can think of so many uses for this, it's amazing how nicely it cuts and seals the fabric and the level of detail it can capture! there's a cosplay ive wanted to do for YEARS that has custom lace and I never could think of a good way to create it and this is beyond perfect!

    Great tutorial! I love to see more tutorials on using laser cutters or other tools for cosplay! One thing that can effect how well it cuts materials is the color, so the darker color your material the easier it usually is to engrave or cut. So the thicker fabric might work if it was in a different color or had a coating on it.

    Its because of the color, not the thick polyester fabric. Try cutting same material with a darker shade or color.

    Helloooo! Thankyou for your video.... do you think this would cut latex ok?

    • @KnoviceCosplay
      @KnoviceCosplay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't see it on the unsafe materials wiki, but I have no idea. I've never worked with latex before, I'd probably check the laser communities on Reddit or Facebook to see what they think

    Thanks very much for this video
    am new to using laser i got a 90w diode laser recently i will love to use on fabrics
    Please 🙏 what power and speed setting will you suggest for diode laser 90w. For polyester fabric
    And can i put wet paper towels under the fabric to reduce burning
    Thanks

    • @KnoviceCosplay
      @KnoviceCosplay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i use a 20watt laser so our power and speed settings would be extremely different, and it varies fabric to fabric. But you usually want to start at a lower power setting and then slowly go up, you can probably do something pretty fast with your high power, probably as fast as 100+. Putting paper towels underneath would increase burning, polyester fabric shouldn't burn at all, it should just melt. I recommend putting a marble tile or metal honeycomb underneath the material you are lasering!

    Hey there I was wondering if you had any experience with white polyester twill vinyl so yes does it work it isn’t it to shiny?

    • @KnoviceCosplay
      @KnoviceCosplay  ปีที่แล้ว

      You cannot use a laser with vinyl, please fully look-up safety precautions. Lasering vinyl will create hydrochloric acid which can kill you i am not exaggerating. please be careful and stay safe 💓
      Anything that is pure white will not work on a diode laser unfortunately, the ones I use in the video are off-white/cream

      @@KnoviceCosplay thank you yes I know it a other type of vinyl it more like a fabric with the some clue on the back it fine for lasers and they call it poly-twill vinyl do you think if I mask it it would have a chance of working out?

    • @KnoviceCosplay
      @KnoviceCosplay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@heinkuijpers7584 ohhh i see, if it's safe then it's worth trying, i've had luck with lasering sheer white fabric just by having something dark underneath, i've heard people have luck with masking as well! if it ends up not working perhaps there is a local makerspace where you can laser the material with CO2 laser just so you dont lose money on the material

    how about putting fabrics underneath cardboard?

    • @KnoviceCosplay
      @KnoviceCosplay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For what purpose? Would not recommend since it will take longer to cut through the layers of cardboard and also be a higher fire risk since cardboard is so flammable
