Pro-Cure Review (Which Species To Use It For, How To Use It, And When NOT To Use It)

  • Do you use Pro-Cure?
    We’ve been getting a lot of questions about it recently, such as:
    - Does Pro-Cure work?
    - When should you use it? (And when should you not?)
    - What species does Pro-Cure work best for?
    - What lures do you use it with?
    Since so many people have been asking about it, I decided to do some on-the-water testing with it.
    Like all products, there were some pros (I caught lots of fish) and some cons (I caught some fish that I didn’t want to catch!), and in this video, I’ll share with you whether or not I would recommend Pro-Cure.
    Check it out below.
    P.S. We’re not sponsored by Pro-Cure and we don’t accept sponsorships from any tackle companies so that we can give you completely unbiased reviews.
    Have any questions about Pro-Cure?
    Do you use it?
    Let me know in the comments below!
    Now, of course, it’s important to keep in mind that adding some scent to your lures won’t magically help you catch more fish.

    Used the Pro-Cure Sweet Corn Super Gel last year in Southern Wisconsin for the first time. Caught 380 Carp for 3700+ LB during 2020. Over 50% of that was using Korda Pop-Up Maize spiked with that stuff. LOVED IT! Also a few Channel Cats, including a 26.2 LB.
    Bought the 8 Oz. bottle for about $26 and it lasted all season. This year I bought a bottle of the Pro Cure Carp Candy Super Gel. Can't wait to try them side by side.

    I was crappie fishing last week and it was very slow. So I decided to try a little Procure Inshore on the jig. I started catching fish! Can't prove it was the scent or the fact that I changed the lure, but am looking forward to a little more research!

    Thanks for the video I’m 65 years old and I’ve used procure forever probably started using it right after they started making it anyway it’s been very productive for me in my local area we have a fishing hole at the bottom of a dam( nw Florida) most of the time guys can’t catch fish but they call me the Trout lady because if there’s a speckle trout in there I’m gonna catch it and I’ve always said it was because of technique and procure .

  • @luxr3148
    @luxr3148 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Tend to agree, fishing slower in dirty cold water seems to temp the fish a little more where sometimes they wouldn’t bother. Mind you I’m in darwin Australia chasing barramundi who are proper slack in the dry season when the water is cold.

    Used some rancid lady fish scent just squirting out intermittently while trolling went from nothing to multitude of king mackerel . It left an oily sheen and slick. Has worked often.

    How does it clean off? Once you're done and go to store your soft plastics do you need to rinse and or scrub them?

    Haven't had much luck with using the procure on the Vudu Shrimp...but im not going to doubt it just yet. Maybe its just me using it at the wrong times. I'll continue to try though...but so far live bait, frozen bait and paddletails are doing better for me.

    Great stuff...for applications while on the move. However, if you plan ahead, soak some plastics in fish sauce for a couple of days - any levels of MSG are a bonus.

    When casting lures in creeks (for redfish, trout, flounder) and there's current, do you cast where you retrieve the lure against the current or cast where your lure is going to be retrieved with the current?

    • @muskietime
      @muskietime 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matt Jones Go to the 3:00 mark for his tip. Most times it’s best to cast upstream as predators usually face the current looking for prey.

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Absolutely! The insider club focuses on helping you find the areas with the most feeding activity, and that's even more important for wade fishermen since it's essential to pick out a good spot due to not being able to cover as much water as those with boats can.

    man, this thing works like a charm, the saturday 2 days ago, i prepared my soft plastics to test this shrimp gel i have laying around in my tackle box, i put little amount of it in a zipolock bag, then the baits i was planning to use, left them overnight to marinate, ifi you will, then, in the morning, the conditions were not ideal, there were a bunch of guys in the same spot, wind was blowing, visibility was poor, water was dirty, and im not gonna tell you i was the only one catching fish that morning, or that just the pro cure infused baits were producing, but most guys got 2 catches, (the ones that actually got something) maybe 1 snook, ans 1 jack.. and i got 6 catches in the same amount of time, same place, we were all bank fishing a very tiny spot, i got 1 jack and 1 snook on bucktails ( non scented) and other 4 snooks on soft plastics that were in fact scented, 1 in a paddle tail, 2 on shrimp imitations and the last one on a shrimp tail.. i dont know if the procure helped, but it sure looks like it did

      I'm from the Northwest, the home of pro cure and I have met the owner, Phil Pirone. He's a fishin' fool just like the rest of us and a nice guy to boot. This salmon season I outfished all my bros using shrimp scent on my tackle for river salmon fishing. I put it on my weights and swivels and smear it on my leader line as well as my terminal tackle.

    Applications of Pro-cure are misuse by the average angler. Apply Pro-cure to soft plastics and spread evenly with finger. The same way with hard baits. Shrimp sents on lures and a like. Mullet sents on Paddletail soft plastics and Topwater baits. Pro-cure bait sents have made a big difference in my catch ratio. Also I catch more quality fish.

      I bought an 8 Oz. Bottle of the Super Gel (Sweet Corn) at start of 2020 season. Used it all year. Always had it with me. Was still catching plenty of fish into November. Caught about 200 Common Carp and a few cats using it. Didn't seem to go bad at all. Smelled exactly the same at the end of the season when the bottle was just about empty.
