[Synopsis]
The road to becoming an empress is paved with treachery. Ruyi (Zhou Xun) is a consort who quickly learns to navigate the treacherous politics of the royal court and move up the ranks. After becoming Empress, Ruyi still must survive the many conspiracies against her. Her relationship with Emperor Qianlong (Wallace Huo) becomes eroded even when Ruyi is able to overcome the challenges. Can Ruyi maintain her role as Empress under such difficult circumstances? “Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace” is a 2018 Chinese drama series directed by Wang Jun. It is adapted from the novel Hou Gong Ru Yi Zhuan by Liu Lianzi and is a sequel to the critically acclaimed 2011 television drama “Empresses in the Palace.”

I can't believe this evil woman died with her title and dignity still intact. She had a grand funeral. She's forever remembered by everyone as someone virtuous and loved dearly by the emperor. On the other hand, ruyi had to suffer so much. Her funeral was crappy and she's forever remembered as someone who lost hongli's favor. She doesn't even have a posthumous name!
Karma has a way of avenging those who were wronged. From my understanding the emperor's tomb was looted along with the two expresses and 3 imperial concubines buried with him. Since he buried Ruyi as a low ranking concubine she was not in that area and remained untouched. In the end she is resting peacefully.
Ruyi never wanted that life
In the drama, yes. But in real life none of this actually happened. For all we know, both Fuca and Ula Nara were probably perfectly nice people. Or both might have been evil. Or just average. In yanxi Ulanara is the villain and Fuca is the good empress. Both ruyi and yanxi are just fictional stories.
@@zetaforever4953 omg i can swear i was gonna say this! i agree bc of course this is just a reimagined and fictionalized version of history. but still, my heart laments for ruyi in the drama.
@@zetaforever4953 Actually this is loosely based off of real history. The Ula Nara was his step empress and there was some drama where she supposedly cut her hair in protest of his behavior. She was given the funeral of an imperial concubine and was not given the burial fit for an empress nor was she given a posthumous name as was tradition with the empress position. Her coffin was not of the quality expected for an empress and was not buried with Hongli. This is a drama but does contain some close similarities to the real lives of the people they portray.

Of course they were those waiting to get their revenge. Many of them had realised, especially the smart ones like Jia, how nasty and cruel the Empress actually was. They wanted her out of the way because she was a threat. Those poor kids though..

@@beanetricemcdaniel249 Yes. However, she got close to the Empress to assess how much of a threat she actually was and to understand her. The Empress in her blind hatred for Ruyi didn't see the obvious and guard herself against Jia. Although Jia's plan was crazy tbf. There's no way the court would allow a Korean empress.
The Emperor will not let her name go down in any bad way. Because it will destroy his Empire and his name he will not let that happen. He will keep her dirty secrets a SECRET..
Only person I feel bad for in this whole thing is poor Yongcong. His mother now has an idea of the pain she caused others by scheming and causing death to their babies.
Thinking about it, she already had a taste of it by losing her first son, Yonglian.

@@alice_yar3924 pero solo hablaste de que los hijos pagan por los pecados de sus madres ¿segura que te referías a eso? Luego está la consorte noble, la emperatriz le dió un brazalete para que no pudiera tener hijos a pesar de ser aliadas, y después es obvio que ella estaba celosa de ruyi, ya que el emperador la quería, pero eso al final la guió a su muerte en cierta forma

Oh my goodness! Hate the title, so misleading. I literally feel bad for the Empress. She literally didn't do anything wrong, it was the people around her, and she ended up having to catch the heat for what the evil people around her did. Jia, that Imperial Noble Consort Hui, her dumb servant that was taking orders from her mom.
