[Synopsis]
The road to becoming an empress is paved with treachery. Ruyi (Zhou Xun) is a consort who quickly learns to navigate the treacherous politics of the royal court and move up the ranks. After becoming Empress, Ruyi still must survive the many conspiracies against her. Her relationship with Emperor Qianlong (Wallace Huo) becomes eroded even when Ruyi is able to overcome the challenges. Can Ruyi maintain her role as Empress under such difficult circumstances? “Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace” is a 2018 Chinese drama series directed by Wang Jun. It is adapted from the novel Hou Gong Ru Yi Zhuan by Liu Lianzi and is a sequel to the critically acclaimed 2011 television drama “Empresses in the Palace.”

The turning point in the show. Ruyi's indifference should've been obvious to the Emperor and Empress but they were too busy caught up in their own feelings.
The empress is always blaming Rory for cursing her son . However she never takes responsibility for HER treatment towards her son! She would have him study endlessly, and he got exhausted!
She didn’t dress him properly and she punished him to harshly! None of these women are capable of understanding their part of the tragedy!
Seems like being delusional is the scale for all the villains in this drama. Always putting the blame on others for absolutely no other reason but themselves being lame. They even managed to convince themselves that Ruyi is greedy/a murderer/pretentious/competitive while the girl ain't giving a f*** of them, just sustaining her love.
@@feliciamad6284 the success of a person is how one lived and Ruyi had many who loved her and risked their life and died for her or with her. Yet the emperor and empress Fucha had none. Because Ruyi puts others she loved first. Whiles emperor , empress FuCha hurts those they claim to “love” like her own son!!! for power prestige whatsoever excuses that takes them straight to Hell.
Ruyi later treated her adopted son very well. Better than Langhua treats her own son.
But those who harm Ruyi gets their punishment eventually.
I think even that eldest prince, Ruyi’s adopted son, when he started to think too much of his own selfish motives that Ruyi’s guardian Angel probably removed him from their protection duties. And he becomes vulnerable to Jia that Korean consort.

She actually did blame herself initially but one of the imperial consorts led her to believe that Ruyi must of cursed her son because she found burnt paper in the form a child near the Cold Palace. Of course, it wasn't Ruyi that did this but rather Hailan who considered it karma for doing such evil deeds like poisoning the other concubines and putting Ruyi in the cold palace.
By accident I came across Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace. After watching this drama and Zhou Xun and Wallace Huo, I was hooked. Loved the drama and have continued to watch many Chinese Drama's.
Ruyi always seemed depressed or indifferent like she accepted a dreadful fate

That look on Jiang's face when Hailan said he was also devoted to Suoxin. Awe, he's worried sick about her, yet still able to do his job. Hailan and Ruyi are like sisters to him, but Suoxin is something special :)

wait i have watched all of yanxi palace and seen a couple of clips from ruyi's royal love in the palace and i have a few questions. Why is consort ling protrayed as righteous and a good character in yanxi palace but in ruyi's royal love in the palace she is protrayed as a cruel person? same goes for fucha empress. Which drama was more historically accurate?
honestly neither is entirely accurate. ruyi is based on a book (I think) and is more sympathetic to the ula nara empress. yanxi palace is opposite. the truth is we don't know for sure the personality of any of these women or what happened to them or their children. even if we did the Chinese government wouldn't allow a 100% historical drama anyway
Neither is truly correct. Based on history the emperor dearly loved the 1st Empress. On the other hand not much is known on the step empress ula nara since she was removed from all records.

History always says it’s not always the one on paper but the one in the man’s heart, who lives in the emperor’s heart that dictates his life. Fucha will be just a title figurehead used for power. You can have ultimate power but not love. It’s how the Devils runs this world.. never enough, never satisfied, never complete. One or the other. Can’t have your cake whole and eat it too.
This show is like a combination of Mean Girls, Sister Wives. Deadly Women with a little sprinkle of Dobby the house elf on top.

Gao's incessant whining was really annoying.
Their screams (Ruyi & Suoxin) were like those of children so soft & frightened. Ruyi looked like damn I can't even get assassinated without having to deal with these 2 clowns.
