That's neat! I remember when Undertale first came out, people harassed anyone who played any route other that True Pacifist. Like "how can you be so evil, why did you kill Toriel" etc. When killing npcs is exactly how you're supposed to play through the game for the first time, assuming you went in blind. Its a standard thing for rpgs. (I would even argue that Toby meant for players to distrust and kill Toriel on the first playthrough. If youve never heard of Undertale and it's characters, and your first interaction in that game is a friendly harmless looking flower that turns evil and tries to kill you, you are kind of set on this track to distrust every character you meet afterwards. I was waiting for Toriel to drop her act soon, because i thought she was secretly evil just like Flowey, but acted better. I saw the fangs on her sprite as the "proof" that she is a predator or something. It was a somber and sad moment when i killed her and realized that she legitimately cared about me, and that Flowey misled me. ) Anyway, I can see that Toby would want to comment on this. He meant for Undertale to be an experience, not a morality test.
I can see where you’re going with this, as another commenter said that definitely is a Toby kind of move to make. If you want (not self promoting I swear I just like interacting with this community lmao) I recently uploaded a video going over all the evidence for Alvin being The Knight if you wanted to check it out. I’m 100% convinced it’s him and it’s cool to see other people thinking he’s a possible candidate. Good video here

I know it can be infuriating if a person doesnt Get sparing but still that just means they didnt understand not that theyre evil!
