Awesome review. Yours and (your partners) were both great reviews. Can't wait to get my Laufey this years. Super excited to get back onto a hardtail!!!
Thanks for good video! I got the Laufey H10 two weeks ago. The big difference between this and a lighter hardtail is the ability to run wider tyres . Maybe I can fit 3 inch wide 29 tyres. Now I use 2.8 inch wide spiked tyres which was great on 4 cm deep snow.
Hi, could you tell me, if you could fit those fat 3" ? How is it ? I am looking for a bike, and can buy an H10 with the Z2 bomber fork, or the stoic for even more "bomby" riding with a RockShox Pike Select, I believe the Stoic is fittable with 3",atleast some of them.
I have the 2019 Laufey and the reach measurement is crap (430mm on a L), I wish I could get the 2020 frame. Other than that I love the rest of the build on mine
Such a cool bike. I run a 10 speed 2x i like the range better. all xtr drivetrain and brakes. never ever had a hardtail bike that rides so fast and shifts like a speeding bullet.
Tess, that was a fantastic review, very detailed, loved it. I was wondering how the 29er wheels feel for you, because we are the same height. I just bought a 2020 Giant Trance 29er, and havent ridden it yet do to snow where I live. Just want to know how the 29er feels to ride as a shorter stature person like me
hey tess, will this bike handle flatter cross country terrain as well, given the 65,5 ht angle? i'm looking for a mtb with a more upright position for both trails and flatter xc Woods, roads, fields,... thks!
Had a XC before and changed to the Laufey, trail. For me much better. So if you can, try to ride it first. For me a trailbike works better than the XC. Riding in Belgium, so flatter tracks....
My Laufey (old one in 27.5+) weighs 31.97 pounds. Never a problem. Been looking to lose some pounds on the bike, but was cheaper to lose some extra pounds on the body :-). Great bike. Had a Specialized Crave in 29 before, but never so much fun as on the Orbea. Would like to compare the old one and the new one.
If you liked the wider tires on the Orbea Laufey you might try a little wider tires on your IBIS with a better tread pattern for your riding than the Rekons.
In my searches, some 2.6 tires measure out to 2.4-2.5 no matter the rim & WTB has one or two 2.6 tires that measure out 2.7 on most rims. Worth measuring into as friend found out their 2.8 tire measure out actually to 2.5 & they have wide rims. It seems like one of the little know secrets is bike tire manufactures have very lax tolerances for width.
Hi Tess great video really digging the bike and the awesome scenery. Quick questions as your 5 foot 4" can you still ride the medium with the dropper fully extended ? and how did you find the reach ? did you feel you were lent over to much,or that your arms didn't have enough bend ? Regards T x
Hi, thanks for the video - great job! I am curious if the wheels from TRYP 30c are good enough for the bike. what is your experience on them? are you satisfied?
@@dustybettymtb Hi. What´s your opinion on going tubeless, while also adding cushion foam-rolls (not sure, what they´re called) inside of tyres. Con´s, pro´s? Thank you. (I´m 6,2 , about 170, going for XL)
Really good review and nice bike! You mentioned that the bike is size M but sorry for asking - what is your height? I am planning to order this bike but I am quite confused by the long seattube.
Great review!

Subscribed to support a woman mountain biker! Loving this review even though it is 3 years old :)

About the tires. Changed the Rekons in Rocket Rons. Works for me. Less effort, better average.
Super, insights, thank you! Comparison with your FS bike was really helpful.

I already have lots of fun in the previous model , that one must be even better going down.
Great review 👍

What happened to the old Laufey? You never did a review on it? Any words comparing the the two Laufeys?
Would you choose this one over the Specialized Fuse Comp 29?

@bikerdhill Good point from you. I think, 27,5 inch wheels would b better option for Tess, as far as playfulnes/finesse of the Laufey goes.

29.8 lbs?! You are clearly a strong rider for how light you are. Big wheels do add weight. Thanks for a great review.

You ride awesome! Thanks for the live review of this bike!
What happens with your leufey? I own one since a few months. Did you sold it because the frame wasnt compliment enough?
Ordered a green one, can’t wait! Already thinking about 160/170 travel 😜🤟🏻

What happened to the h10 in green? Did you get rid of it?
Hello, can you fit two full size water bottle in frame?
I want a 2 degree angleset on my trek roscoe 7 (2019). But i dont know what will fit? Do anyone know?
Check works components headsets or Cain Creek angled headsets. Do research on sizing to fit your bike. Different for every bike

Good review. Can you fit 27.5x2.8? Also can you fit 2 full size bottles in frame?
*In your medium frame?
Dusty Betty thanks 👍
Sounds like a ripper! Thanks for the review 👍
Nice ride, even nicer bike.. what kind of pressure are you running in your 2.6's?

When in Silver City, NM, let’s ride!
Can you go above 140mm travel
Why is soo heavy ? The fork ?
@@dustybettymtb now I see it is AL Alloy . At first I thought it was Carbon and 13.5 kilos was kinda heavy:)
Can’t wait for my Orbea Alma to arrive!
How do i go about ordering as they dont ship to my house
Ralph 187 talk to Kerry at Bike Bling. Pretty sure they will.
@@todddennehy804 thanks buddy I checked it out and they will ship it to my house thank you
Hey I like your sunglasses, are those prescription?
Hi I want to get this bike is it for males or females?
Both
Cool gravel bike! Super fun with a 1500w front hub reinforced fork.
What trails did you ride?
Thank for the review ! Do you have the space for 2.80 Tires ?
@@dustybettymtb Hi ! I have my Laufey next month 😉👍
Great bike :) On 177cm (5.8ft) will be better size M or L? Whats your opinion?
Medium
Nice review!!
Does the DV9 climb better?
Greatly informative video!
Is the purple laufey sticker removable or is it clear coated over ?
Was hopping the same, but it is coated over.
Really good review and nice bike! You mentioned that the bike is size M but sorry for asking - what is your height? I am planning to order this bike but I am quite confused by the long seattube.
I´m 5"6 (170 cm) and run a size M, perfect for climbing and decending fast - a 7/10 for super technical stuff
she says she´s 5´4" in the video
I will go buy this bike because of this review
Just ordered mine yesterday! 8-)
Wow 29 pounds sounds like a lot. My aluminium Giant Trance 29er (full suspension) weighs around 30.5 pounds
My next bike!!!
weight in Xl someone?
🚴👍
